@ Shaavi..very nice post..finally i could find someone having same pov as mine abt sona..it has become a habit for us to blame dev all the time because his flaws are loud and clear and he himself accepts them loudly and others easily escape in that loudness..

4. BASHING OR PERSONAL INSULTS OF OTHER MEMBERS

This means we accept other people's viewpoints with respect, and don't call them names for not agreeing with us. Either we continue the argument calmly, supported by examples from the show, or we respectfully agree to disagree and leave that discussion alone.

Additionally, if you notice something being discussed on another thread in the forum that you would like to get a perspective on here, please link it in your post and let the other Thread Maker know. This allows for them to come and discuss here if they like and makes us all good neighbours.

Would you like to link the forum posts (after running past the posters) or perhaps edit out your post.

Thanks

Sam & DQ

Sorry if I crossed the rules in my post. I will edit it out but won't link the forum posts as it is a tedious process for me to do so. I would like to say I did not intend to bash the forum members but only mentioned their point of view. It is not about who is right or who is wrong. Still I will say sorry for crossing your rules. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to edit it out.

I rewatched yesterday's episode and the scene that stood out to me was the last one. The one where Sonakshi was shown crying in her room. What was significant in that scene was the trophy case behind Sonakshi which was blurred. Bijoy is always proud of Sonakshi's achievements. For him his daughter always wins. But in that scene Sonakshi was crying while that trophy case filled with trophy's, certificates and medals were obscured. I think for the first time Sonakshi did not really care much for her win. She would have been very happy if she had lost and she longed for that strength to lose. She very much disliked the very same traits of being "independence" and "strong" at that minute.

@Lakshmi, I have this feeling after reading timbarucha and Latha's response to my post. This is just a thought and may not be shown this way. According to the tag it says that in this season Sonakshi will understand Dev's dilemma of having had to choose between her and Ishwari. With this season being about role reversal and mirror image, the document that Sonakshi made Dev sign for him to take Suhana to IN and Sonakshi once commenting that she wants to change Dev's name as Mr. Sonakshi Bose, this is the idea that is coming to my mind.

Ishwari told Sonakshi that the reunion will be on Sonakshi's terms. And I feel baba Bijoy is going to make use of that. He is going to say that he will accept this marriage only if Dev shifts to Bose house permanently after the wedding. Become Mr.Sonakshi Bose. I also feel that Dev will agree to that and enter Bose house after wedding. That is where Sonakshi will see history repeating with role reversal where she will be forced to choose, truly experience the pain that Dev went through during marriage phase. That is when Mrs. Mandol will be alarmed enough to interfere and act similar to how GKB instigated Ishwari and fuel her insecurities. This is what is going to bring a lot of hidden things in Bose house and Sonakshi saying that she wants to go to IN leaving Bose house. This stay of Dev in Bose house might not be very long, but enough for realizations.

This is not intended to hurt anyone and the makers may not show this way at all. This is just something that came to me after reading the 2 posts. Please take it in that spirit.

Shaavi
Interesting twist you predicted. It will be an exciting ride for us if the makers show the story this way. it looks inevitable since they have to take the story forward. But I must admit you are a creative zenius .

Shaavi, to build up on your point, the placement of family photos and trophies has always intrigued me on this show. From Day 1

Dev's awards are on display only in his office. The rest is in that memorabilia cupboard or in Ishwari's sandook. Dev has his struggle's memories well preserved in his room and that remains a prominent part of his room. There are family pictures of the Dixits (not a single one of the Tripathis, except that damned group photo in the living room) all over IN. While, Sonakshi's room has her trophies/awards/certificates on display but I dont see a single photo of the Boses in the house. The only photos that made an appearance was that of Suhana and Sonakshi in S2. Dida talks to fondly about dadaji, yet his photo is not on display. They have Vivekananda in their room.

I am not comparing. I think this difference has been purposely done to show how different Boses and Dixits were. Sonakshi obviously had/has an affinity to pictures. She gifted Ishwari & Dev photos. She has her daughter and her portraits in their room.

When Bijoy and Asha were missing Sonakshi after the wedding, they sat with her awards. When Ishwari misses Dev, she sits with his photos (the dreaded 8 yr old ones too!).

For the Boses, those awards were an achievement.. a goal... For the Dixits, they were a means to an end. None is more than the other. They are just different

@ bold pink. These sentences are making me wonder. As you said they are different. What I feel is the contrast that is subtle which is the highlight in a way. What I mean is when one looked at Dixits in season 1, it looked like they were not close to each other. Like Dev didn't really know what his sisters likes, dislikes etc were. Everything was channeled through Ishwari. The achievements(awards, the remnants of struggles etc) were hidden at home, while the achieve that Ishwari considered, "her family" out of the woods displayed proudly everywhere.

Boses talked a lot about family, themselves as one unit. They believed in transparency and being there for one another at all times. They proudly displayed their medals and certificates which told of their success while didn't really arrange any family pictures. It reminds of Sam's words of Sonakshi taking her "family" for granted. I think for them family is just there and keeping it together is not an achievement, it is supposed to be like that, that's all.

But with season 2 and all the struggles that Bose family have gone through, I think this is changing. They might not realize yet, but there is an undercurrent of discord simmering just beneath the surface of the togetherness. There has not been a strong enough trigger to bring that differences to light yet. i feel that the story is proceeding towards that. And I feel the significance of the picture that Dev gifted Saurabh and Ronita during their sangeet ceremony will come up in the next episodes.Even in Saurabh's room apart from that picture, there is no other pictures of the wedding is on display.

This makes me believe that it is not about how Dixits, Boses, Tripatis or Mandols are different. It is about all families being the same. The way each family functions or their dynamics might be different, but it doesn't make the "concept of family" different. Something that Bijoy once told Dev "family, family hoti hai, tera mera kya hai".

Boses and Dixits before devakshi were different in my opinion. One wasnt any lesser than they other. They just operated in a different manner, because of their past. In the last 7 years, things have changed, so they have changed and perhaps looks similar. Also Dev and Sonakshi brought Dixit-yat and Bose-yat into each other's families (more sonakshi than Dev.. )

What I didn't like in today's episode :

The DDLJ moment trying to be recreated. I have never understood why such an iconic moment enacted by a fine actor is repeatedly used in unwarranted situations in TV or cinema! 😡 The inspiration is understandable but usage is terrible. How can one compare the character of Simran to the character of Sonakshi??! Here the girl is dismissive of her feelings and brought about this whole fiasco with her stubborn streak and trying too hard to be a 'Papa's girl'. There Simran had already admitted her feelings!! Bijoy and Baldev Singh are incomparable. I was happy that Bijoy didn't blurt out the iconic dialogue in its full form and instead Saurabh did the honours! This scene could have been done very differently since Bijoy-Sonakshi shared a great rapport and were more friends than a father-daughter duo, unlike DDLJ where Baldev Singh was a disciplined and strict father. Very disappointed.

What I liked :
1) Ishwari's dialogue with Bijoy which proves that a family always behaves in a particular manner. Parents, in particular! 😃

2) Dev's discomfort was so evident that Nisha was smart enough to notice it. In other serials, the girl would be scheming and would go ahead with the engagement just to keep the episodes going!!

3) Elena's dressing sense is better than Sonakshi. She has more class and style. Sonakshi likes to drape curtains, I think. 😲

4) The new song added was so beautiful and apt. Lyrics were good.

5) Pre-cap was great. So KRPKAB is different after all. The girl breaks off her engagement and rightly so. Good decision.

Rekha, I agree with you. The point you liked is very much the core of Sonakshi I guess. What I mean is in earlier posts Sam mentioned that Sonakshi likes to create narratives and cast herself as the hero. I feel she casts herself more as the "tragic hero", kind of like "abala naari", "victim of circumstances". This is exactly what Elena questioned when she talks to Sona after Dev agrees to marry Payal, that she is the "author", not a "victim" who is caught in all these. But then this is how she has coped with all the expectations from her family since the time Bijoy made her the head of the family. When she had to face her inner feelings and tell the truth, she has conveniently rearranged the story and the characters in her story so that she doesn't think that she did anything wrong.

Here too she doesn't want to admit that she was at fault in coercing Dev for remarriage when she was well aware of his feelings as well as hers. She just assumed that Dev would disagree and she wouldn't have to reveal or admit her love for him. But now she is faced with reality. She knows how much she is responsible for the current situation, but accepting it would mean having to deal with the unpleasant consequences. Something that Sonakshi is not ok with.

And I think that is where Nisha is showing the mirror. She is showing the true "strength", not just in words, but in action. That each person is the author of their life and can rewrite as per their way if only they show the "courage".

Some words for you sona...
" If he makes you laugh, kisses your forehead, says he's sorry,
makes an effort, hold your hand in public ,works hard on relationship, makes attempts to understand you,...
Then believe it or not he is quite perfect"
Trust me sona Dev had done his part ...now it is left to you...to chose your perfect fit
