It seems like everyone is collectively holding their breath, waiting for this to play out, before they say anything. If that is the case, count me in! 😆

As we wait, I would like to say that this is a beautiful conflict they have drawn between our two lovers. All weekend, I read views that explained Dev and Sona's respective views and everything made so much sense,; that, I think is the beauty of this track. Each of them are pushing the other into things they are not ready for, acting on the deep scars they have from their relationship. And I think it's quite poetic that Ishwari catalysed this ressurection of their mutual bitterness. It reminds me of the poison that emerged before the nectar in the mythological churning of the ocean, aptly represented here by karela juice. 😉😆

The moment Ishwari asked Sona to help her with Dev's rishta, she hit a sensitive nerve. Sona's deepest worry from their marriage is that one cannot be in a relationship wtih Dev without having a positive relationship with his family. GKB had too much sway over Ishwari, who in turn had too much sway over Dev. Seeing his handling of Soha, and then with the dinner, Sona had begun to observe and remark on how much Dev had changed, but these fresh observations proved too tender and new against the tidal wave of past fear and hurt. She was terrified of falling into the same situation a second time, where it was her and Dev's love against a slew of enemies. She has none of the naive energy and optimism that Sona 1.0 had, and so she acted rashly and pushed Dev away with a force that left him staggering.

When Sona pushed the remarriage on Dev, it dredged up his abandonment issues. She was leaving him again, and it made him both angry and desperate. He was assaulted by the desire, on the one hand to stop her from going at any cost, and on the other, to make her feel the pain she was giving him. What started as a somewhat rational exercise in Payal's case became more and more desperate and dangerous with in Nisha's. Sona's continued refusal to act or speak raised the stakes, while lowering Dev's own capacity to think clearly. The tension that could have been diffused with her merely apologising for colluding with Ishwari, and agreeing not to force him into remarriage, has now become a need for her to express that she loves him. Because with further every step that Sona doesn't respond to, Dev is losing a little trust in their love.

That's what I think he means when he says, "before it's too late" -- before his trust in their love is entirely gone, and he becomes convinced that Sona feels nothing for him. His slipping trust was no more evident than in his answer to Nisha's question yesterday; he is beginning to question, do Sona and I really have something special, or is she right? Are we just a habit for each other? I love this impasse because I find it so convincing. Sona didn't have all the information she needed to make the call everyone wanted her to, and Dev didn't realise how many allies he had in his desire to be with Sona (in whatever way). Ishwari, catalysed by Dev's candidness, had to shed her last bit of selfishness (she wanted this reuinion to come about without her expressing her own desires -- like bahu like saas) to bring the truth to light.

Sonakshi still thinks she is not welcomed by Ishwari as bahu and above that she still thinks she can't choose Dev,Dev has to choose her.( loved Erica's expression here) She also thinks she cannot choose him with all the baggage.
Loved Ishwari's words to Sona, not only Dev, she needs her too.Sona was like a friend in the form of nutritionist but now she has become her need for a peaceful life.
Loved but also it was painful to hear Dev's words about Sonakshi being his "aadat". I prefer the meaning of addiction than habit to aadat. Because Sonakshi is like an addiction to Dev.
Dev is not sure about Sonakshi coming, thats why he asked the inevitable question to Nisha that him being so close to Sonakshi. Does it bother her? He is hoping at least Nisha will understand and backup from the engagement.
Now Ishwari has made clear about how she feels about Sonakshi as her bahu and tomorrow Bijoy also gives his permission to go to engagement, we have to see how the emotions flows.

P.S : I feel Soha and Golu will hide the rings 😆

For me it felt like a scene from the movie Twilight:

Edward to Bella : you are like a drug to me.. my very own brand of heroine.

What a BANG ON post Sam.👏 👏
You do magic with your words and crystal clear thoughts. How beautifully you conveyed these two kids turmoil with your simple words. Hats off to you. Can't agree more.😊

@Bold: This is exactly what i felt after yesterday's Dev-Elena convo. When he started this game he was very confidant on their love but now with Sona's actions he is slowly loosing that confidence. I too felt that this is exactly what he wants to convey when he said "before its too late" which means before he too gives up on their love.

It's OK . You couldn't see it before. Happens. Thanks for presenting your thoughts again in response to my post. Nevertheless I feel we as individuals have different mindsets and hence same situation is viewed in different ways. I still feel Sonakshi's obsessive love for Iswari resulted in making the peaceful atmosphere get spoilt. Dev and she are managing the issues with reasonable understanding and communication . Where is the necessity to respond to Iswari's plea? Both the women in his life made Dev a pawn as per their whims and fancies .

Sam

Beautiful analysis .

Yes Dev started doubting their love and Shaheer's superlative expressions conveyed his anguish, confusion, desperation and helplessness. His scene with Elena stands out.I felt so bad when he again and again looked at the entrance with dwindling hope and inherent fear.

Did he deserve all this tension and stress? No. He shouldn't have taken up the task of making Sonakshi confess her love. Dev underestimated her grit and determination. Had Bijoy not asked her to go ahead,Sonakshi wouldn't have moved an inch ahead towards Iswari Nivas.what would he had done then? Will he proceed with the engagement and ruin another girl's life?

Knowingly or unknowingly Dev did the right thing by asking Nisha if she is fine with their friendship. Nisha is quite taken aback when questioned so.She will definitely think further in assessing herself and decide whether she can tolerate Sonakshi's presence and dominance in Dev's life.

So Dev's fate hangs in balance. His win is certain if either of the two women Sona or Nisha rises up to the occasion. If Nisha refuses to be engaged well and good. If Sonakshi confesses her heart, that is the ultimate win for Dev Dixit the lover.

Still an uncertainty prevails over the hope towards a happy reunion. The countdown begins. Along with Dev Dixit I am waiting with bated breath...Will it happen atlast?

Sam...thank you very much for this totally different perspective on why Dev asked that question to Nisha...Otherwise I had lost hope on seeing a mature love story...I am still waiting to see if Dev or Sona will do anything to save their 'so called' pure love story, instead of depending on a third person always ...😡
