@all thanks for liking my post and the encouragement.

@Bhumi, I read your posts earlier about your confusion on Sonakshi and also Dev. I shall attempt to explain what the writer (I think ) is trying to say/do. I would caveat it by saying, this isnt a justification of their behaviour. Its an analysis of why the characters are acting

I couldn't connect with both Dev and Sona.
Dev promised Soha that he wouldn't go ahead with wedding, yet, it didn't seem like he was going to break the alliance. So, he had no plan B? He was just going to marry some random girl just to make Sona realise? And what about soha? He knew she doesn't want that to happen, he even knows Ish want DevaKshi reunion.

That is right. No one had a plan B. Everyone expected plan A to work. Moreover, to be honest, it is working. This is the story the writer wrote. That Dev had trust in Sonakshi's love. He knew she would (at some stage) do something that will mean the wedding will not go ahead. The only catch is, its happened to so late. Like Shaavi said, the "batti jali" moment for Sonakshi after she blurted out her thoughts to Nisha is a testament to the same. Sonakshi was shocked at her own revelation. Dev knows Sonakshi loves him. That is no rocket science anymore. He is working on helping her overcome her fear of letting go and allowing herself to commit to their relationship. Before Ishwari intervened, he was not even rushing Sonakshi to marry her. All he wanted was to be with Sonakshi

Sona seemed completely clueless and confused, pretty sure many viewers couldn't comprehend what transpired. She jumped from 'I don't feel for dev' 'nth can happen between us' to 'i love dev can't live without him' to ' its too late I can't break engagement'. So basically she is ready to sacrifice her love, which also meant that she was pushing innocent girl towards dark future. Lets face it, except for Gkb nd Red no one wanted her in Dev's life. Sona knows what Dev wants through Ish, Ish made it clear that she wants Sona back, mamaji always supported her and even Soha and Golu voiced out their thoughts by hiding rings.
Yet, Sona is like all helpless and clueless. I think She just forgot reasons behind her resistance towards reunion , and her heart took her back to initial courtship period. Maybe she was so lost thinking about why she fell in love with dev that she forgot why she separated and what happened in 7 years. Maybe thats another track altogether? Who knows..

Sonakshi is not clueless. As we finally saw yesterday, she has thought about what went wrong in those few married months of her life. @Deepa has captured it beautifully. Sonakshi has looked back and evaluated if she indeed picked the right battles. Mind you, she would not admit all this with an "insider".. With Nisha, she went all defensive. Much like Dev went all defensive about the Boses to Mrs Mondal.

The point however is; she has seen how much she and Soha missed out because she took Dev's words too literally. This man is sat with the kids feeding them on the day of his engagement. How endearing is that? She saw that and all of that has started tugging at her heartstrings. Because, lets face it that is exactly how she sees her own baba... A perfect dad. Here is the catch though. Both her and Dev were happy to be co-parents and let this continue, however, (as we saw yesterday), sharing their sanctuary of love, their room, Dev the husband, the lover with someone else hurt her most. She knows Dev has had girlfriends over the last 7 years. She even brushed it aside as a normal male behaviour. However, to see another woman in his life as his wife has wounded her.

Whether we like it or not, whether Dev likes it or not, for Sonakshi, being a good bahu to Ishwari is as important as being Dev's wife to be a Mrs Dixit. She admitted yesterday that Dev had this hostile ecosystem and she was only trying to make it suhana for him and used to end up messing it up. Love cannot be sacrificed. I said this in my post yesterday. When you love truly, you face its consequences too. One such consequence for Sonakshi is to work on her concerns about entering into this alliance yet again. She is regretting taking Dev's words literally yet again. I need a saathi and a sahara. Had Ishwari not pushed her and had Bijoy not bound her in the promise, she would probably have been more pragmatic.

Dev and Sonakshi still have a very fairy tale like view of what it is to live in love. Love hurts. You make tough calls in love. Both of them need to thrash out this haq and farak nahi padta business. Dev needs to tell her in no uncertain terms, when he isnt under the influence of alcohol or drugs, that he wishes to have her in his life always. Sonakshi needs to tell Dev very clearly, that she struggles to put into words how she feels about him. They need to have the confidence in each other. This is why they make such awesome friends, because they expect very little from the other at that stage. They have very high expectations from their life partners. Those expectations need to be communicated

I was wondering if a person would ever be ready for a wedding after two meetings. Nisha barely bonded with anyone, she never tried to understand complex dynamics of IN. I would say she jumped the gun.

She totally did. I felt she had to be a special kind of an unwise person not to see it. and well, she saw it.

Everything happened so fast yet so slow. Engagement is stretched out for days yet things moved too quickly or too late. Difficult to pin point but couldn't understand characters.

I cannot comment on the above. For me, the pace is perfect, just perfect. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen the song/dance ek ishaara to karo now. Yes you have to be practical about things. I think now is when Dev and Sonakshi are finally getting practical. Nisha has put them both back in their place. Reminded them how reckless they have been.

Looking forward to confession. Hopefully makers will do justice.
My pov. Not intended to hurt anyone.

Dear Grace, please wait till confession and then you will start loving Devakshi again.

Their dil ka mobile has gone from general mode to silent plus vibration mode to now meeting mode without vibration. Give them some time to come out of the trauma, they would start being themselves. And then you can love them as much as you want. 😊

@dq. Thank you so much for the response, I really appreciate it!
I was bit disappointed and frankly speaking wasn't able to comprehend everything that makers were trying to show. However, reading awesome analysis of talented writers here does help to understand and appreciate CVs storytelling.
Thanks again.
I love KRPKAB, its the only Indian series i watch. At times, i guess we get frustrated due to our own high expectations.
Can't wait for tonight's episode. :)

So, today, on this anniversary of a very important day in the lives of Dev and Sona, I would like to present my views and the things that I have noticed from my time being a 'ghost lurking and stalking this forum' to present my counter argument to the people who are questioning the 'close to reality' tag that has been usually associated with this show.

The very first (or the second thread) that I read after coming back to IF, was a post which was filled with vicious attacks on the characters of Sonakshi, Asha and even Dida calling them names (not mentioning them here, but let's just say, I was absolutely stunned by the harshness of the words)...

And, the moment that made me smack myself on the face was when on the very next page, the maker of the thread had mentioned that he/she had stopped viewing the show months back and now, he/she is glad that he/she only reads written updates because he/she can't tolerate this nonsense... (Sorry for the he/she... Not able to determine the gender on the basis of what was written)

And, the people who were agreeing with the point of view (of the creator) also belonged in the same category..

And, I was like SERIOUSLY... I was getting affected by the words of such people who were not even viewers of this show... Because, let me tell you that you are only a viewer if you either watch the show on television and if you watch it online, then, you need to watch at least 15-17 minutes of the episode (if its a 20-25 mins show), before it is counted as a 'view' by the website and hence, their views are totally irrelevant.

Other thing, reading written updates basically means that you don't have your own opinion but basically spreading the views of the author of the written update...

@DQ @Sam First of all, I am extremely sorry for going slightly overboard with my sharp tone in my post...

I understand your concerns and hence, will edit my post...

Like I mentioned in the last point of my Post-Script notes, I have created another separate thread on the main forums, titled 'The Phantom Diaries'...

When I mentioned the word 'thread makers', I was not thinking of anyone particular thread... And, I neither remember the title of the thread nor anyone particular person on the forums... This is why I will be unable to post a link to the exact thread that I was using a reference...

It was targeted more at the group of people who express themselves on a daily basis without watching the show... But, both of you are right that I should have been more in control with my words...

Hence, I will PM some members whom I feel belong in that target group to come here and present their views... And, I will also add another link to my separate thread, so it's up to them to choose whether they will discuss it here or at my thread...

I have made some changes to my post... (Quoted above) You are free to check whether they are okay... And, I am 90% sure that you might still have some issues with the edited post, since I was not able to address to your each of your complaints...

So, it would be a great favor if you please give me suggestions on how to further edit my post, so that it can finally meet the standards of this thread.

I don't know why but I felt Dev would have gone ahead with the engagement had Nisha didnt take the reigns in her hands. Yesterday's Dev was quite different . He looked in a daze,he appeared detached and he displayed a certain aloofness in his demeneare. Previously he looked confident, mischevous and playful in his interactions I mean ever since he started his drama.
Yesterday's Dev when he snubbed Elena exhibited a kind of frustration mixed with suppressed anger. I felt he lost his hope to a great extent. He almost decided he failed in igniting Sona's emotions that will make her confess her love.

Dev's eyes got struck on the entrance despite having Nisha beside him. Will she? Won't she? His anguish and pain was clearly visible in his eyes. When Sonakshi finally came, then also he couldn't find respite . Sonakshi's face exhibited the much needed longing and pain but he couldn't fathom any resolute urge to unleash herself before him. She tried once but was interrupted by RR and there ended her trial( as per Dev's understanding)

I was dumbstruck seeing him feeding the kids . He looked disconnected with what was happening around. He sleepwalked through out the next phase of happenings I came to conclusion that he was in shock . Sonakshi couldn't pool up the confidence to extend her hand. That truth nailed him and shattered him . He was not able to keep his promise given to his dearest Soha. Dev Dixit just left everything to fate. Even when rings were not found Dev looked unexcited.

He answered Nisha's question . Yes,he still loves his ex wife. But that stern expression stayed on his face. Even when he was not on good terms with Sona,Dev never looked unsure of Sona's love for him. But yesterday he looked wounded, hurt and lost. His face haunted me and I felt sad for him.

Strictly my understanding about Dev Dixit of yesterday.

There are subtle nuances that appeal to me. Lets talk about the whole ensemble of the characters. Starting with the invisible mamaji! He is back in the bhad I think. However, that is how he has been all their lives. Not that he can do anything right now. However, his absence is reflective of how (to quote @Sam); the patriarchal system disables the menfolk. Mami and Vicky are going through with the plan. Ishwari & her family are bearing the consequences of that plan. Yet mamaji is nowhere to be seen.

The fact that Sonakshi chose to wear a Shimla-like dress says a lot. She has consciously or subconsciously picked a dress similar to the one Ishwari picked for her and Dev made her his apni in (or without! 😳) that dress. It fits better this time. It's not busy like Shimla. Her hair are tight yet held high. She still holds that stress in her mind and is going through a battle. No nech accessories.. Blank canvas for that mangalsutra!

Dev wore the same colours as Sona's colours (white shirt post lovemaking) in Shimla. Yet he let his love peek through that snug jacket. Soha co-ordinating with her mother. Golu co-ordinated with his bigcha.

With the exception of Elena (and dida), everyone was in bright/dark colours. The most interesting thing for me was that Bijoy was in Dev's colours Blue. The whole qayanat is consciously or subconsciously coming together.

Nisha dressed loud. She does not know Dev is not impressed with this sort of make-up and style. How will she know? However, her loud make up is reflective of the message she sends Devakshi very loud and clear.

Elena's dress and hairstyle impressed me. Her dress matches Devakshi/Golu-soha. Yet her hair is all jumbled up, very fairy like herself. Its as usual too snug but you see her skin peep through. She is the only one who let the devakshi secret out to Nisha.

Kuch rang DQ ke obsessions ke aise bhi!

In US there was a series that was aired a decade ago. It was called "Charmed". It is the story of 3 women who have magical powers and fight the supernatural. The beauty of that series is although the 3 women have powers, they are also like any other normal woman, with their desires, wishes and fears. The different phases in life to the emotions associated at those times are portrayed beautifully by the characters. All 3 of them are independent and strong yet are vulnerable at the same time.

In one of the episodes, they are faced with the "demon of fear". This demons ability is to bring a person's deepest fear to life thereby paralyzing that person and the person dies of fright. He wants to kill these 3 witches and for that he corners one of the sister whose "fear" as known to her sisters is fear of being in enclosed spaces like elevators. But the place where corners her is in a kind of park, an open space. So she tells that demon that he can't hurt her, for which he replies "do you think that is your deepest fear. You mortals need to look deeper. Your deepest fear is not fear of enclosed spaces, but it is fear of losing a sister".

The reason I mention this is because of Sonakshi and her fears. What is her fear. Is it that Dev will leave her again for Ishwari?. No. This was not her deepest fear. It is in the question that Ishwari asked Sonakshi "Is Nisha good enough to be Mrs. Dev Dixit". This "being good enough" for Dev is Sonakshi's biggest fear. Ever since Natasha came in Dev's life, Sonakshi felt that only a person like Natasha can come in Dev's life as his life partner, that she was not "good enough" for him. During that whole track, Sonakshi constantly compares herself with Natasha and tells Elena why she is not revealing her love to Dev. This fear of hers was never addressed. When Dev proposed, she at first couldn't believe it, for her it was like a dream and she felt that Dev had compromised. That he was giving up the "perfect partner" and settling with her.

Dev on the other hand had similar thoughts. He was not completely convinced that Sonakshi loved him since she didn't answer his "I love you" with an "I love you too". She just told him that she wanted him to hug her. He tried to push away his fear with saying Sonakshi has accepted him. From his perspective he was not "good enough" for her. He saw her as settling for him. Dev said that she makes him want to be a "better person" cause for him she was that "better person".

Neither one confronted this fear of theirs. Both tried to make themselves "good enough" for the other without realizing that they were "perfect" and "made for each other". With every minute that Sonakshi spent in yesterday's episode no revealing her love, he kept losing his confidence in himself, that he was never good enough for her. If Nisha hadn't questioned he would have continued with engagement and marriage because he started to believe that he was not the one for her. That he had failed to be the "better person" who could share Sonakshi's life. He was also aware that this was not Nisha's fault. Since growing up with 3 sisters, he couldn't think of hurting a girl, especially one who trusted him. The way he saw it was since Sonakshi did not get jealous or do or say anything, there was no point in hurting Nisha and breaking her heart. He wouldn't have given her the place he had given Sonakshi, but he definitely would have made sure Nisha would be happy. That she never had any complaints from him. This was a man who felt defeated and was trying to make sense of it.

Sonakshi on the other hand had similar dilemma. she felt that she failed him. That she is responsible for causing pain to yet another girl in Dev's life, something that she could have stopped if only she told the truth. Even in Natasha's case if Sonakshi had confessed, then Natasha wouldn't be heartbroken as she was. Here too she knows that she is at fault. She is the reason why Dev is doing what she is doing. She feels guilty. That is stopping her from revealing her true feelings. Something that just tumbled out inadvertently when Nisha asked her. But as soon as she had said that, she was shocked with herself. She realized what she had done. Her words revealed what she actually feared when she said that he was "perfect" and she was the one who failed.

In today's episode, Sonakshi will finally face her true fears of being "good enough" for him. Suhana will be the catalyst for that. And in a way Nisha too.

Beautiful post. But Dev really thought he is not good enough for her? If so the thought itself breaks my heart. I always felt that he is damn sure of her love but his face yesterday conveyed a different feeling.

By the way the story you referred is too good and relavent.

Hi Suyash,

I am so happy to see your long post again, and another load of happiness, to see you in the main forum. 😊 I didn't properly reply to your post in this Analysis thread earlier today, and only managed to say Thanks for your appreciation, due to time constraints and I didn't want to do injustice to your fantastic sincere post with my half-baked replies.

It is very clear that your views, about advantages of Phantom viewing, resonate with mine. I too face similar situations and in those situations, I find it best to 'take the backseat and enjoy the ride' (I think I am in love with this phrase 😆).

When I was off the forum during last 2 weeks, I used to feel very disturbed whenever an eureka moment of analysis happened within a fraction second in some tiny corner of my mind while I am doing some important work, of course totally unrelated to the show; and like a flash it appeared and went. I felt, why on Earth is this happening to me esp when I cannot post anything right now. So I would scribble the gift of my mind on my mobile and go back to my work. And the best part is, the more relaxed I felt, the better my creative department worked - both in my work and show's analysis. It becomes really difficult to watch the show while trying to scrutinize things deliberately; or analogously, deliberately looking at a math problem and being stuck at it for hours. For me relaxed approach works better.

It is quite understandable that a fiction cannot be closer to reality or truth, because truth is stranger than friction; only truth can be closer to truth. And when it is a show that thrives or survives on TRP (i.e. they earn money that way), the dramatic turns are quite understandable. But when the makers of our say that they are closer to reality, I happily believe it; because I have seen worse plot twists in Indian Television (which I would not like to mention and cause WW3). We should consider the constraints they may be working on (resources and time), the need for business and earning money and other things; and still they are managing to deliver quite engaging and relatable story - that is interesting enough to analyse and which has a layered script with beautiful dialogues, apart from awesome cast, direction and acting. Of course, there were some inconsistencies too, but I am willing to let go of that and take it as an error bar (like in a physics lab: Observation +- 5% ).

About Dev calling Bijoy buddho, well I too was irritated a little. Then I remembered all sort of nick names we (Nope, not me. mainly students from last benches) used to give to our teachers when we were in school (BTW, the maths teacher used to get most innovative names 😆 ). We, kids, used to find fun in that... But Dev is a 30+ guy, such behavior from him feels immature and disrespectful. However, in that particular scene, I felt a boy was planning to secretly meet his girlfriend at her place. Her dad comes suddenly ruining his plan and he is taking out his irritation..😆 I agree with your point. Also, I would like to watch a scene from the makers justifying that - that he really respects Bijoy at heart, that Bijoy turns out to be the father that Dev never had the opportunity to have. I also want Bijoy and Dev to eventually defend each other the same way they would defend Sona, because their love for Sona would bind them together.

For Elena, too I agree with your points. I feel in that one dialogue, she expressed how much she is frustrated with Vicky's emotional unavailability to her needs in their marriage. I am not talking about physical needs. I am taking about the need for coordination and companionship in their marriage - for Vicky Elena's views, opinions and even family have no value. He does all his plotting with his mom that too against her family without a tinge of remorse. He is not sensitive towards the little things she looks forward to. Dev-Sona's marriage too had problems, but even in their separation they were connected on an emotional level. And hence Elena's frustration - that if someone can love you this much, go to these extents for you, why are you acting so pricey? Aisa bhi kya ho gaya?

And lastly thank u so much for finding my thread as your favorite. 😃. I really have no words to express how much happy I feel, because I think that I am only an average as a writer.
