First of all, congrats Shaavi on turning Goldie...And as usual, you have described Sonakshi wonderfully.
But, though I know that Dev is doing all these with good intentions, I can't agree with the route he has taken. And now that I am feeling how exhausted Sona is, to the extent that poor girl is getting suffocated, just like I used to feel that Dev didn't deserve all this only because he fell in love with Sonakshi, I am feeling for Sona now. Not because I have changed the team; but because Dev has received some sort of healing through Soha & through Ishwari's redemption. And when you think from Sona's side, none of her hurts have been healed...Poor girl, in fear of the pain it will bring, is not even ready to talk about her past to anyone. That's why she keeps it brushing it off, whenever Dev or Ishwari tries to talk about it.

I have been through such a situation for some years...where, even when hearing you being compared with someone else or hearing regrets on you being chosen, you had to smile and keep the hurt to yourself. At the same time, had to live a mechanical life without sharing your pain with anyone other than God and occassionally with your friends. And this hiding of my feelings & emotions continued till I was sure that I was not seen as a poor choice or a decision he regretted for. Only then I started opening up with him. That is why I am able to identify why Sona is not opening up now.

Stupendous post .

Shaavi your posts are bang on and I agree with you completely.Thanka for sharing in the main forum .

I always believed you understood Dev's character aptly and you are so good in presenting your thoughts in a calm and composed manner but today you decoded Sona perfectly

Beautifully Analysed ...totally agree with you about the character formation of Sonakshi ...abt her fear...If her core character consisted on concealing her fear, aspirations and dreams to portray a strong independent women her dad wants...she broke away and destroyed this mask when she fell in love with Dev...and even during the engagement with Ritwick..Sonakshi never considered her fathers image nor hers...when she ran to her Dev...all she wanted was his safety...

But inspite of all this when Dev never reciprocated this love in "the way she wanted " and when he openly in front of his relatives asked her to leave ...she felt her dad was right ...

On the other hand , Bijoy never hated Dev so much ...his hatred for him started when he saw the way his daughter was treated after marriage..and he felt that Dev couldn't stand by his woman...and be the man that Bijoy wanted to see in his daughters life...

How could Dev do this at the home front?? He never had good example...where as in professional front he had many ...but at the home front all he had is his mom...and has seen only his mom's emotional manipulation . Ishwari is not a strong character...she is flawed...in many ways...

From where I am seeing...every action of Dev lead Sonakshi to believe that her dad was right about Dev...more than Sonakshi ...Dev has to rise up to prove Sonakshi and her father wrong to erase that fear off Sonakshi...

Beautiful post shaavi, but I have to differ from you. The only thing that motivates or deters sonakshi is not bijoy, he is only one of the factors.
When ishwari came begging to Bose house, sona didn't agree because bijoys pride was pacified, she agreed because she really badly wanted to marry Dev and ishwaris begging gave her the hope that she has now accepted him. Likewise accepting Devs offer of job was not something she did for herself. It was bowing to blackmail due to responsibilities.

Yes she is a child under immense pressure of her father's expectations but that is not the only thing that is stopping her from pursuing her dreams.

It is fear. Fear of being betrayed again. She overcome that fear once when she married Dev but got badly hurt in the process. Now her heart wants something substantive and tangible before dreaming again.

Just tell me how can she trust Dev again when he himself doesn't trust that he could never have thrown his wife and her family on the streets in the middle of the night? Dev not being able to realise that he was used as a pawn speaks volumes about his weakness as a person. Could anyone under any circumstance convince you or me that we have done such a henious act? No , because we know that we would never do it. Dev considers himself capable of hurting his love so badly. Now how to trust this so called love?

How does a woman trust a guy who can't protect her? When has Dev protected her when it really really mattered? She dared to dream twice and was badly burnt. It takes courage to dream again and forcing her hand or playing games with her is just not the solution. Trust had to be rebuilt slowly and steadily.

Dev has to show her through actions that he can now be trusted. Everyone is not a dreamer and will not try to find that pot of gold at the end of rainbow again and again without substantive evidence that it exists

I agree with you completely Grace...if Sonakshi has to open up then he should make her trust him again ...make her believe that he is a changed person and he is going to stand by her no matter what the world says...as wrote in one my post ...she doesn't trust him...because with this engagement drama she is being proved right by Dev that Sonakshi was only a choice for him ...

I cant understand what is stopping Dev from saying NO to the engagement...why did he have to plead to Sonakshi for stopping the wedding..I am confused with Dev's character...if Nisha or Sonakshi doesn't stop this engagement ...does that mean he would have gone ahead and married Nisha...Does he not understand like him , she also needs his confirmation if she is imp in his life and not just a choice /option his mom gave... 😭

Fabulous write up shaavi. May not be able to agree with you completely but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.👏

@payal, completely agree with you payal but can't blame this guy alone for the current mess. There is no doubt that he needs to earn her trust and most importantly both need healing especially sonakshi because her hurt and fears are very deep rooted this time. But is she giving that chance to him? They both were actually building it brick by brick and suddenly she ditched him by jumping into ishwari side. When it comes to stupidity no one can beat these two. When ishwari brought up this remarriage mess, he was handling her in his way and he also told sona clearly that he thought of remarriage since his mom asked him to marry sona and when she is not ready for that, he respected her choice and when she forced him also he clearly told her that he can't give that place to another girl. After that whatever she did was sheer stupidity. All she could have done is tell ishwari that she can't force Dev when he is not ready for it instead of that she went on with her move on gyan. It really hurts when the person whom you consider as your everything keep on trying to prove you that you are nothing for them. It really really hurts.

@ Latha
agree with your take. I also thought in the same lines when I was discussing with grace four days back. I posted it here.

I felt Sonakshi should not have agreed to support Iswari at the cost of Dev's inconvenience.

You are right when you said Sona should not be forced to act against her ch But I have a sincere doubt Why can't she disclose her heart before Dev and tell him every truth? Why can't she tell him that definitely he is her love and she has no second thought about it Having said so she can tell him she can't marry him again as she doesn't want to take any risk' Dev would have understood her point and appreciated her.

Sonakshi should have told Iswari that she can try but she can not force Dev, Then Sonakshi would have left the option to Dev himself whether to move ahead or not'

Here Dev also is pressurised to enact the drama against his will If Sona did not force him Dev would have been saved from this tension ' Soha also is facing the heat. She is not an adult How could she withstand the pressure of seeing her father date another girl before her eyes?

Grace the reason for this hopeless situation is lack of transperancy .Both of them are suffering
Sona can be true to her ch by not taking risk if she had given importance to her other ch traits also like frankness transperancy etc that Bijoy Bose boasts as Bose family traits though they are not so in reality

What an awesomely awesome post. Such nuances brought out in Sona's thought process. Such wonderful analysis. It feels as if you are laying bare the perspectives of the Cvs themselves.

I endorse every word that you have penned down as they are my own thoughts and POV👏
