Also during all the issues of devakshi married life, I found Asha to be extremely forgiving to the point of being passive. Even during the aunty fiasco it was bijoy who took a stand for Asha. Our Indian mom's esp in case of their daughters are extremely submissive, that's y the boys family take unnecessary liberties even in today's world.

I said so coz I can see a lot of Asha even in my mom.

It's not abt being passive always. That's y I'm not a big fan of Asha. Sometimes u hav to take a stand. Certain issues need to be addressed

Mily. I totally get you here.
However, now I wish to see Dida take a stand for her son too. I am not appreciating how Asha is being very rude to Bijoy these days. Hope someone stays beside him too. If Dida reprimanded Dev and Asha for being rude and sarcastic to Bijoy, will people still call her cool?😉

Actually our show is quite unique in that way. In spite of Dev and ish, two people whom I would never want in my life.,the show has a lot of exemplary characters.

1.Sona-If taken aside her indulgence of ishu, she is an extremely sensible woman, loyal daughter and am inspirational mother.

2.Asha-She may be a bit traditional well that's not wrong, most Indian mothers are, but she never forces sona to satisfy her aspirations.
3.Daadi-She is a Rockstar. A widow who has made a success of her single life. Kudos.
4.Bijoy-Given his overreacting disposition, he is dream father. Every dev would think twice before hurting his wife, with a father in law like Bijoy.
5.Jatin-A sensible individual and above all a loyal and trust worthy friend.

Grace don't worry even if I din like soha going all Gaga over ish. It 's just a direction flaw. I don't think she loves her maternal side less.

But given all her sob stories I don't love ish and that too not coz of what happened with sona. Even from the beginning I found hers and Dev's bond a little ott.i prefer selfless love but ish dev bond is self seeking love for all to see.

.

Agree word to word. Me too- I found Dev Ish bond a little unnatural, a kind of Oedipus feels, especially when Dev lies on his mamma 's lap. I have never ever seen a grown up son lying on his mother's lap like this. Those scenes of the mother and son were to use a very mild word - cringeworthy .

Come on Dev and Ish has all the licenses in the world.

Dev is flawed and Ish was a poor single mother.

Hi Becca.

I din find it Oedipus like coz i know lot of men who are very attched to their moms in a healthy way.

But the relation reeked of self obsessiveness.I could see Ish wallowing in Devs attention.

This is what makes her so insecure of Sona, she wants to stand in Dev's sunshine of love.

Somehow Sona understands this, thats why she says how can he be my sun when he is someone elses moon.

Unless Ish gives a little space to Sona in her and Dev's habituated routine,Sona as a wife will never feel happy.

Thank you Mily for such a detailed comment.

Bold - Regarding Dev-Ish bond, I never felt it OTT, except when Ish was shown as a jealous lover who didn't like Dev calling Asha, Maa...And, moments I disliked her is when she used the situations of Devakshi fights to distance them away - like sending Sona to her mayka on two occassions & cancelling Sona's candle light dinner plan at home and telling her to go & take rest. But, I never hated her, because I could identify with her insecurities, as I myself have witnessed such a thought process in widowed mothers who have struggled a lot for their kids in real life. The only difference was that in all those cases, sons were not like puppets in their mother's hands; but at the same time they could give the assurance to their mothers that they will never be abandoned. In Ishwari's & Dev's case, this didn't happen. And that's what the makers are trying to convey to such sons & mothers - that, 'A stitch in time saves nine'...😊

Red - Yes, lots of directional flaws in the last 2 episodes.

Bold - Of course, why not. Because, till now she has shown to be a reasonable person. And so, if she reprimands, it would for sure be for something of that stuff. Infact, I would have liked it if Dadi had done it to Asha for her behaviour to Bijoy on Thursday's episode, infront of Ronita.
