Daadi has always been our favourite, but yet I haven't seen any posts made in her name. So, I thought I will do that honour. And the reason for it is, if it were not for her cool & understanding nature and support, Asha would not have been the understanding & mature person we are seeing today. Btw, I am not happy with the way Asha behaved with Bijoy in Thursday's episode. On the 2 previous instances, she showed the maturity to send away Sounitha before she expresses her disappointment with Bijoy. But, this time showing this indifference to Bijoy, in front of Ronitha, was disappointing.
Ok, coming back to the Daadi, let's see the few instances which proved she was a great support to Asha.

1. Episode 21 - A cool mother in law who was happy seeing her son & daughter in law dancing to a Bengali song, on the eve of Asha's birthday.

2. Episode 23 - A very caring mother in law who gifted her DIL a foot massager on her birthday. The conversation they both had, right over the dining table, showed how deep a relation these both ladies shared together. (Infact, seeing the love between them, Sona right in that scene was telling, she also wished she also got a MIL like Daadi)

3. Episode 25 - A naughty daadi helping Asha in her effort to get Sona agree to Vishaal picking her up from Ishwari Niwas.

4. Episode 29 & 317 - A responsible mother who never hesitates to correct her son when she feels that Bijoy is becoming ziddy or irrational.

5. Episode 145 - Rendering an unknown support to Asha (and even told Asha to say yes) when Ishwari was begging infront of Asha to agree to Devakshi's marriage.

6. Episode ? - An understanding MIL. I don't remember the episode. But there was one episode where Asha says sorry to Dadi for having getting angry with her thinking Dadi didn't take care of Sona when Sona had fever during her childhood. To which Dadi replies that she didn't feel bad because being a mother herself she could understand Asha's feelings as a mother.

7. Episode 248 - Never tries to pressurize Asha saying she has become old and has to be taken care of. Instead, makes herself active by touring the world.

So, as I said in the beginning, without the help & support of Daadi, Asha would not have been able to fulfil her duties as a wife & mother, so beautifully. And no wonder why Sona always wished for a MIL like Daadi and when she found that Ishwari was not such a person, tried to do things that she thought would appeal Ishwari and bring a change in her.

FINALLY, let's all give a huge round of 👏 for our cute, cool & confident Daadi.

Super cool post.

Actually our show is quite unique in that way. In spite of Dev and ish, two people whom I would never want in my life.,the show has a lot of exemplary characters.

1.Sona-If taken aside her indulgence of ishu, she is an extremely sensible woman, loyal daughter and am inspirational mother.

2.Asha-She may be a bit traditional well that's not wrong, most Indian mothers are, but she never forces sona to satisfy her aspirations.
3.Daadi-She is a Rockstar. A widow who has made a success of her single life. Kudos.
4.Bijoy-Given his overreacting disposition, he is dream father. Every dev would think twice before hurting his wife, with a father in law like Bijoy.
5.Jatin-A sensible individual and above all a loyal and trust worthy friend.

Grace don't worry even if I din like soha going all Gaga over ish. It 's just a direction flaw. I don't think she loves her maternal side less.

But given all her sob stories I don't love ish and that too not coz of what happened with sona. Even from the beginning I found hers and Dev's bond a little ott.i prefer selfless love but ish dev bond is self seeking love for all to see.

@mily-mathew...can you eloborate what you mean by the above? Can we generalise mothers???!!!!...mother is a mother...you cant differentiate as Indian mothers, british mothers, american mothers, arab mothers etc...a mother is a feeling its an emotion...if being protective is traditional then all mothers are traditional disregarding tbeir nationality...

First of all apologies if I hurt any of ur sentiments. By traditional I meant a mother who feels her kids are happy and secure only if they are in a married.
Also during all the issues of devakshi married life, I found Asha to be extremely forgiving to the point of being passive. Even during the aunty fiasco it was bijoy who took a stand for Asha. Our Indian mom's esp in case of their daughters are extremely submissive, that's y the boys family take unnecessary liberties even in today's world.

I said so coz I can see a lot of Asha even in my mom.

It's not abt being passive always. That's y I'm not a big fan of Asha. Sometimes u hav to take a stand. Certain issues need to be addressed
