Asha's comment about Never say Never plays on my mind today...
Also, in season 1, while Sonakshi managed to stop Dev's dependence on sleeping pills, they still harmed their relationship when Ishwari overdosed on them

This time, I am eager to see what mends their relatopnship

Agree. The past week has seen the communication channels working so well between Dev-Sonakshi. It was a relief to see Dev telling Sonakshi about the eavesdropped conversation between Ishwari-XGKB. Even the pre-cap, they are talking and being honest with one other. Dev-Sonakshi have realised that their families are not ready to accept their closeness (it just happened). One side is Ishwari and other side is Bijoy, both having strong influence on the protagonists. I hope that they come out of this unscathed.

@DRCS. Lets agree to disagree. For me both Dev and Sonakshi are golden hearted but are clouded by their loyalty to their parents. On the surface it does look like Sonakshi took independent decisions outside of Bijoy's influence or she was better than him. But not really. During the whole marriage phase whatever Sonakshi did was not exclusive of pride. Anything a person does in prideful state is not selfless. It might seem like they are doing a lot, but it is all for their greater good. Whatever Sonakshi did was ultimately to prove that she was the best choice for Dev to Ishwari. But her wish to prove to Ishwari itself is incorrect.

It is true that Sonakshi called Ishwari as "maa". But did she really treat her as that. Did Sonakshi really not differentiate between Asha and Ishwari. Would Sonakshi feel the need to prove Asha wrong if Asha had said or did what Ishwari did. I am in no way saying what Ishwari did was right, please do not take me wrong. I detest everything that Ishwari did or does. But it does not mean what Sonakshi did as right either.

Dev's falling in love with Sonakshi itself was a step against his mother. He decided to stay away from Sonakshi after she made him promise in that office. He might have said "hume alag hona hoga" in the heat of the moment, but was he really sure of those words, not really. In that whole time it was him holding on to their love not her which is once again going against his mother's wishes. On the other hand, Sonakshi was ready to forget Dev, marry Ritwick and move on in her life just because Bijoy said so.

It is true that Ishwari had a hidden agenda during the vrath. But the decision was taken by Sonakshi with her own hidden agenda. She did it to please Ishwari, something which Dev had not asked to do. she also took that decision without talking to Dev first or even thinking about him. If she was so sure that her decision was right, then why didn't she defend it when Bijoy questioned it. She could have clearly said that it was her decision and give Dev a clean chit. But Sonakshi did nothing of the sort. As much as she expected Dev to be the bridge between her and Ishwari, she should have been a bridge between Bijoy and Dev. But she failed to be so.

What happened during the birthday was very unfortunate. But her too Sonakshi was not 100% faultless. She could have told Ishwari or the family members about their decision to celebrate out. She was ok to reveal it to Bose family but not the Dixits, why. Why did she feel that she/they should hide it from Ishwari. It was one of those really really unfortunate occurance of life. He wanted to wait, but he was forced to do what he did. He is someone bound by guilt which Ishwari misused for her purpose constantly. This was something that Sonakshi knew. Instead of supporting him, she constantly did things which put Dev on the spot and he was forced to play the umpire. He was continously asked to either take her side or Ishwari's side. And most of the time, Dev took Sonakshi's side even though on the surface it did not look like that.

As much as Ishwari's influence was toxic on Dev, Bijoy's was/is on Sonakshi. The whole infertility and Shimla trip was a tragedy. I totally agree that Ishwari shouldn't have done what she did. But here Dev was as much as a victing as Sonakshi was. He was not in any better position than she. The news came as a shock and before anyone could actually understand what is happening, things had spiralled out of control. What Ishwari did at that time is the same as what Bijoy did yesterday. Hasn't Sonakshi proven her loyalty to Boses by walking out of her marriage 7 years ago. Yet Bijoy again asked her to prove her loyalty. Ishwari is the same. She did the exact same thing to Dev 7 years ago when she forced him to do what happened.

From my perspective Sona is no better than Dev. She is neither magnaimous nor has to be venerated for anything. I feel Dev as a much better person than her. The way I see is Sonakshi hurt a lot of people and caused a lot of mess in her quest for perfection. She failed to take into account the feelings of others and only kept expecting others to accept her decisions as the "right decision" for all of them. If she has forgiven them, then so has Dev. Sonakshi hurt him the most yet he hass forgiven her. This actually shows his greatness. Just because it is subtle doesn't mean it is not better. Sometimes looking beyond what is just visible to our eyes gives a better understanding of the situation.

This is my pov. Not intended to hurt anyone. If anything, please lets agree to disagree. 😃

Dear Dev
Some 8 years ago, your mother's nutritionist and your best friend told you, your true love will wait for you forever. Won't you wait for your love to feel comfortable enough to marry you?? 😭

Thank you, @DQ for posting the link to this amazing article written by @Deepsel...

Once again, kudos to her for writing such an interesting article why this attitude of 'everything or nothing' is like a double-edged sword which can hurt both the target and the wielder...
