I saw two key highlights in the episode today

There are 2 bahus(Sona and Elena), 2 women (Sona and Ishwari) and 2 wives (Sonakshi and Ronita).
The two bahus: Elena made a crappy decision 7 years ago and is still paying the price. Yet she hasn't let that make her bitter towards her sasural. She chose to stay in this marriage for her child and is showing the same mirror to Sona without realising that Sona was married to the maalik of the house and her marriage had a very different challenge. Nonetheless, Elena made a decision, stuck to it and continues to savour happiness in whatever form it arrives. Sona on the other hand, even when she isn't the bahu of this house, is trying to be the chaukidar of its happiness. She was what the society would call a khoti bahu. Yet, in Ishwari's absence, she stepped up to protect this house. Even Khatri can see that Sona acts as the chaukidar and the maalikin of this house. The Dixits are a very difficult family to protect. And metaphorically speaking, Sona is up for the challenge even today
The two wives: SauRo gift scene was so heartbreaking. The end result was same as Devakshi... The lady could not wear what the man brought for her. Goes to show that every marriage has its own set of tests. Sometimes its external influences and other times it's our own thoughts. It takes a lot for a marriage to work. Love conquers all so love should be given paramount importance and nurtured, else the marriage will fail for one reason or the other.
The two women: Continuing with the discussion from last week, a female's character is what elders call "kachcha dhaga". I detested the use of such filmy terms when dadi/nani/taiji etc used to talk about such stuff. These two protagonists might end up facing each other as women not mothers. Sona for her relationship with Jatin and Ishwari for her relationship with Khatri. That paired with Dev's casual sexual relationships in the last 7 years should bring us to an interesting juncture very soon.
That is what the reflection in the garden was - A bahu, a wife and a woman.
Another very key thing was the steps in Dev's room. Sona was sat there when thinking about Khatri. I have always maintained that the mezzanine on the bed is symbolic of the burden that Dev and thus Devakshi carry and unless they conquer it (My dream is for them to make Baby no. 2 on that mezzanine ) they will not lead a happy married life. Perhaps Sona has started the process
