A wonderful emotional week in krp land where everyone is seen rearranging their perspectives after the emergence of hidden facets of people whom they thought they knew deeply. Dev, Asha and Jothin saw Sona in a different light this week and Jothin and Asha started seeing Dev differently. The equation between everyone in the Bose family is changed because of this changed perspective. And this week it was taken hands down by Dev and Asha. These two emerged the clear winners in the understanding department even more than, what the individuals in question themselves understood.
Dev was hurt seeing this Sona who is no less than an alien to him. The one he fell in love with, went against his whole family to save his sister's love story even after repeatedly getting cautioned by everyone including Dev himself. This new ruthless Sona didn't think even for a moment about her brother and his fiance's emotions except the larger picture. In her words a life of balance sheets is what she was living now. There was no space for any emotions in her now. This coldness was what hurt him most and he used her words on the trust between families to lash out at her even though he knew that she never named his mother. Just like she doesn't have any haq to criticize his mother he knew he doesn't have any haq to show her what she had become. So he brought his mother into the picture to at least make her realize what she is turning into. His pity rattled her quite strongly just like he knew it would.
Asha understood that Sona was fooling herself and everyone all this time. She believed that her daughter was over her bitter past and marriage until Dev came back into the picture. But Sona's interaction with Dev after he came to the Bose house made her understand that it was a myth. Each turn Sona was seen trying Dev in the court of Justice in her mind without giving even a hearing and any chance for an appeal. Whereas for her, Dev was very much the same guy her daughter fell heads over heels in love with, who thought of them as his own, who wanted to protect her daughter from getting hurt, who defended her at the drop of a hat to someone outside the family. She knew that her daughter has missed the whole picture but is too hurt now for her to try to make her understand. Asha also understood that their family had been too quick to decide to break the relationship with the Dixits without understanding the whole story and there was a chance that the hurt they were all going through could have been avoided. Now their kids had lost 7 years of their life and her granddaughter had lost 7 years of her father's love. She is trying to salvage what she could by bringing Soha into the picture.
Jothin always viewed Dev through the Boses eyes. But he is getting a very different picture of Dev after he started interacting with him in the Bose house. It also showed he had always questioned how Sonakshi fell in love with the Boses version of Dev Dixit. But seeing and interacting with Dev directly has answered this query of his and he was ready to acknowledge that Sona had been right in choosing her life partner in Dev. Sona had always been a private person in terms of her emotions. She always locked the doors before letting go of her controls. And Jothin had been that door for her all these years. He was the perfect foil behind whom she hid her emotional self to her family. He knew his limits and was perfectly ok with this until Dev came and rattled his preconceived notions. Sonakshi doesn't want to be dependent on Dev and even though she knows it is unfair on both Dev and Jothin, she tried her best to keep the door closed. But Jothin understood her and took himself out of the equation. Except her family no one has barged in on her after she closed the doors. Looks like Dev is going to, since the doors are not there anymore to protect her.
Dev's protective instinct for his mother stems from how he perceived the world looked upon a young single mother. He knew the battles she fought daily and wanted to grow up fast to protect her from the wolves. Even for his worst enemies he would not have wished his mother's fate and that is the exact position Sona put him inadvertently. He knows that she had her family with her and she had her profession to fall back on. But the truth still remains that he was not with her and their daughter when they needed him most. This was something forced upon him and he can't forgive Sona for this. Sona was the only person who knew how their past had shaped him and this from her was the worst blow of all. This is the reason why he can't make himself ask what she went through these past years. But when Sona defended Jothin's presence it was exactly that picture that was brought into Dev's mind. He is trying to reach out to heal her and that was beautifully shown by that bed tea.
The truth and dare game between the two fathers were a treat to watch. Dev dared to hear the truth from Bijoy. But what I loved most was the scene where both of them agreed that it was a silly game when Soha falling in love with another Dev Dixit was inconceivable to both of them. How alike they are when it comes to their loved ones. Even in his inebriated state Bijoy was not willing to accept the dare to forgive Dev.
P.S: I know it is too long. But my hands were itching to type the whole week. Thank you DQ for the suggestion. But even my PM was not working.
