@Shaavi: I think whether the contract is legally valid or not won't matter as long as it fulfills its role in the story, much like our old friend the prenup. It's already served to show that Dev isn't really fussed about the legalities as long as he is allowed to see his daughter and that Sona is in desperate need of assurance that her daughter won't be stolen away from her. Like Sona explained to Asha, she didn't make that document to keep Soha away from Dev, but to protect her from the nefarious creatures living at Ishwari Nivas. Bijoy, however, may interpret and deploy the document in a different manner which remains to be seen, and Ishwari certainly won't be happy that Dev signed off his legal rights (GKB and Vicky might be over the moon, though!). So whether or not it's valid won't be an issue as much as how each character reacts to it, I think.

Our show doesn't do good research into official procedure, but unlike other shows, they seem to avoid too much time in hospitals, police stations, and courts altogether. I actually respect that they don't butcher these institutions too much in the name of drama. 😆

Thanks Sam. It is just that in that scene, after Dev signs the document, the camera was focused on it and was shown for like 10 sec. Hence the curiosity. 😊

"Before you blame someone, step into their shoes and walk a mile..."
(That way, when you blame them, you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes 😉😆)

Hi all 🤗, weekends are around and I am back😆. I loved yesterday's episode, especially the jungle scene (BTW, I love Devakshi nok-jhoks😆, but that is not the only reason). I have read the beautiful analysis of the situation, especially by Shaavi and Sam; amazing analysis👏. And I love this thread because I get to know so many interesting POVs.😊

I would like to share how I perceived that scene.

The starkest thing that I found in the scene is that Sona is no longer afraid of walking in the dark alone, which speaks volumes about her last seven year struggle. Throughout the scene, I felt they were walking into each other's shoes (their journey from first break-up to present day situation) for the first time after 7 year separation. All these years they only kept blaming the other person, finally its time to reflect and empathize.

The dialogues were very symbolic too. Sona asks Dev to walk slower as she is not able to keep up and Dev rants as a reaction. Then they re-live their first signature fight for the second time- 'Chalne ki tameez nhi h to ghar pe rehna seekho' 'Baat karne ki tameez nhi h to chup rehna sikho'. But dialogues were interchanged, Dev speaks Sona's lines and Sona Dev's (Tu mujhme mujhse zyada hain). Sona says she had no choice except coming with him and she agreed because she wanted to help. Then she inevitably slips much to Dev's annoyance.(And here I remembered Devakshi's - 'Candles baad mein dhundh lenge, pehle argue kar lete hain''Nahin, candles dhundhte hain'😆) Sona defends saying the path is bumpy, one can easily slip. Dev retorts saying this age is not for slipping.

This is how I see the above. Here, Sona is going through, metamorphically, what Dev went through since their first break-up and vice versa. This change in avatars is represented by their interchanged dialogues.

When Dev and Sona broke up for the first time, Sona seemed to move-on in one go and Dev was not able to keep up with the pace. He kept on bumping into her, following her around, much to her annoyance. But he had no choice, his heart followed no reasons. The road to love is never easy. After Dev-Sona's office conversation, Dev agrees to cooperate and even attends her engagement ceremony. However, he 'slips' in his attempt. Whatever the case, he cannot see her with anyone else. Sona helps him, but later gets angry with his 'slip' (We see her reaction when Dev takes flowers to her office and reconcile).

Coming back to the episode. Sona asks if he knows the way out, Dev says yes and they go deeper into the forest. The snake is released. They argue about the 'right' way and separate. But no one is able to leave the forest. Sona's foot refuses to let her move on and faints, while Dev comes back to her after ranting and worrying.

Now flashback. Dev always said Ms. Bose is always right and even Sona always seemed to provide him with the best solutions. Dev trusted that Sona could handle a difficult man like him. They patch-up and go into deeper levels of their relationship - they get married. Then inevitably the snake is released (It was all along with them in their entire journey, but in a dormant state) - RR's inccessant brain washing and conspiracies and Ishwari's insecurities as Dev's mother. Affected by the circumstances, they go separate ways, claiming to be right, but nobody's inner self is able to leave the mess. Dev gets stuck at that instant of that night and loses himself in a sense. Sona comes back to Delhi and eventually reunites Dev with his daughter.

Also, interestingly, in the much debated hand tying scene; the instant when Dev wins a blind basket, Sona is shown to free herself from her bondage. They both win against their own limitations. But when they play against each other, only love wins.

After I see yesterday's forest scene in the above light, these portions of the hand tying scene look like Dev's first confession with Dev in Sona's place and Sona in Dev's. Dev had freed him from the bondage/boundary of responsibilities, dared to find happiness in Sona and went to her to bare his heart, while Sona, who loves him back without expecting in return, earns his love without seeing it happen.

Hopefully, its finally time, the blame is put aside and they understand what the other went through in all this 7 years of darkness.

I have more write about their I love you scene and few others. I guess I will post them later. Thanks for reading.😉

I will put in my two cents here. Marriage agreed takes years of patience, sacrifices and adjustments but there are some limits which have to be respected. Husband and wife telling each other to get out or demand a divorce when they are alone is different, husband telling wife to get out in conjunction with his entire family is different.

Again wife's relationship with the entire family is also an important deciding factor here. Saying get out in a toxic environment and at such a crucial time is not a small thing. There are some insults which can't be ignored because they hurt your very essence of being you.

Further Sonakshi never had the right to consider that house as hers. It was just not possible for her to go and sit in her room saying it's my house. It was always Ishwari's house.

See I agree that the entire five crore incident was handled in an equally immature manner by the boses and there was no need to aggravate the situation to this level. What could have been Ishwari's greatest debacle and defeat was converted into her greatest victory by the bose pride.

But that day and at that point of time there was no way Sona could have stayed back.

Totally agree Payal. To be fair, had the leap not been planned (as has been sensibly pointed out to me so many times) Vicky's master plan may have failed. Dev is fully capable of pulling an all nighter outside her house and only leave when she comes back with him. Happens to the best of us.
