I am of the opinion that two people who are extremely incompatible should not be together even if their love is eternal. As much romance is ideal, but the reality is that in day to day life, compatibility is what keeps the love strong and growing.

However, I have a question. As many people many times pointed out that forum has two distinctive opinion.

One opinion is in favour of Dev and another in favour of Sonakshi.

the opinion in favour of Sonakshi, as far as comments in this thread is concerned, don't want Sonakshi to get back together with Dev because they believe that Dev is not good for Sonakshi which I also believe.

However, the opinion in favour of Dev still wants Sonakshi to get back together with Dev.

Why?

At least in this stance we should all agree, no? We should all be against Dev and Sonakshi to get back together for whatever reasons. Just like some people would rather Sonakshi marries Jatin, people with opposing opinion should root for one of many options of Dev like Shruti or Preeti (similarity in name too).

Can someone please explain why flawed, egotist, arrogant Sonakshi deserves the saintly, innocent, oh-so-adorable-baby Dev Dixit? Why not root for Sonakshi and Jatin with us so that saintly Dev Dixit can get a saintly wife approved by his mummy and produce his own cricket team without doing ginormous sacrifice of marrying a woman who was supposed to be infertile?

Shouldn't we all be in the same team in this mission? What say? Should we all bug the CVs to make it happen?

It is also a fact that we live in a society and we have a moral code of behaviour and have to be fair in our judgements. My comment below is based on this.

@Bold:
Dev asked Sona to leave. Sona wanted them to stay together - that is exactly how I interpreted her reaction to Ishwari's words.

Boses insulted Dev in front of their neighbourhood. Sona wasn't present.

How are these 2 valid comparisons in a husband-wife tussle?

This is the thing once a partner says 'Leave' or 'I'm leaving' that relationship is over. Tell me is this acceptable in any marriage? Irrespective of all struggles in a relationship, this is one thing you don't say. Like Elena refused to say that word in Thursday's episode. It is not that she doesn't know her husband, its just that she will do everything to keep their relationship going.
And between Dev and Sona, we know who said the word!!

Here who left the house first? with out even anyone saying 'Leave'. ok i understand her baba was hit accidentally and she was sad and wanted to support his baba, so left with him.. nothing wrong..but what was the need to cut communication with in-laws house for weeks .not once ,twice but many times Dev kept calling he even told I will hold your fathers legs and apologize for what i did, but please comeback home ,don't do this to me..but still she was adamant , in the initial months of marriage understanding, trust are very fragile we shouldn't pull them too much..(one more thing both partners shouldn't shout at the same time..in fact it is not good for any relationship..having some patience when other person is mad always makes things better, one can put their point forward once things calmed down)
Lets assume for 1 -2 days she was also upset didn't feel like talking to Dev, but wasn't she supposed to trust and understand slowly that it was accident and no intention of her husband? As much as she is daughter of Bijoy, isn't she wife of Dev too.Isn't she supposed to be responsible from both sides?.. and first shouldn't she try to take away that bitterness from Dev and Bijoy relationship?like arrange a meeting between them or ask Dev to come and apologize ,at least a try to set things right ..isn't relationships more important than returning
money? she can return them money but after this as it was about her self respect...
Is the way Sona choose to return money is right? what does Bijoy mean i will never let my daughter forget this slap? is he already calling for separation saying this..as no daughter
can be happy in in-laws house keeping this in mind...
Intentionally or unintentionally they gave access to others to control their relationship and sadly nobody worked in their favor.. just my Pov..

@Bold, well Sona knew what her dad was like and she was protecting her husband? Why did he not listen to her? The Boses would have never had the opportunity to insult him in front of the neighbourhood.

You make a fair point though. I have avoided discussing Elena because a) to me she is only a side character b) I couldn't quite comprehend her behaviour or where her moral compass is.

That said, your comments above highlighted qualities in Elena which Sona did/does not have and the success behind Elena's life.

- She doesn't bad mouth anyone
- When she knew her family won't support her choice she decided to get married without telling them
- When her family were on the streets, she promised to cut all ties with them and be loyal to her in-laws.
- Even if she can see that her husband is sleazy she stays on.
- She knows the value of the presence of mother-father relationship in a child's life (not husband-wife relationship or if it actually benefits the child)

Now we know Sona isn't like Elena.

We can't guarantee that Dev would be third time lucky.

First time, he asked Sona to leave she left, prepared to marry Ritwick and live happily ever after.
Second time, he asked her to leave she left, had a baby and thought she will live happily ever after.
Third time, who can assure that she won't break Dev's heart and the Dixit family?

Based on all above, my answer is No, they shouldn't get back together.

@Bold, I guess that the people with opinion in favour of Dev want the couple together because these two are definitely compatible left alone. compatibility issues are more cause of bijoy and Ishwari than the couple themself.. so want couple back but separated from both the houses

@bold, Did she communicated the same with her husband, that she still cares and trying to protect him ? i didn't said anything about Elena, as you said she is not worth mentioning at all . I was talking about just Sona...
Dev will be definitely lucky if Sona comes back to his life... but the thing is here Sona also finds her happiness with Dev only ...she couldn't love anyone as much as she loved Dev.. ab kya kare... who can change this...😊

Dev and Sona haven't been abusive partners, Bijoy and Ishwari aren't either. If anything, Bijoy has been nice to Dev and Ishwari has been nice to Sona. They all have their moments but thats family right?

How is leaving parents for no strong reason be golden model for parenting?
I posted this in an earlier discussion in this thread. Think this is relevant here too.

What will they teaching Soha - that whatever Dev and Sona's parents did for their children is wrong BUT whatever Dev and Sona do for their child is the absolute parenting standard?!

Wouldn't that be a joke? At 28 and 26 they didn't know what is to love and respect the institution of marriage but 7 years later they suddenly know what it is to be a parent together? Sorry blaming Sona and Dev's family is a wicked escape route.

If anything, a child makes a marriage that much more difficult. Dev should have learnt something from Mamaji and Vicky - both remain married to woman who speak their own mind.

What sort of society will we be building if we can't make our parents see our POV and support them in their old life? I want to see Dev making Ishwari understand his POV. Ishwari will move mountains for her son; he just has to trust her and speak to her. Dev gives up too easily :-(

Of course, she told him her dad was upset and she will say when the time is appropriate. Yes, he asked her to come back and she said please give me some time, I will be back. So is he wrong for not giving her time or she for asking time?

I brought up Elena bacause he qualities were closest to what you asked of Sonakshi.

Here's my philosophical take:
Dev kept looking for happiness outside - in women, alcohol, Golu - and he is still looking.
Sona's quest for happiness was within herself and hence she has a little Suhana.

Probably you are right, its hard to imagine Dev and Sona having a romantic relationship with someone else and there is only so many actors the production house can afford! So easier on our eyes and their pocket if these two get together 😛

NO! just for the sake a child.. No.

For Dev, Sonakshi is not at par with rest of the family and he didnt give her respect & trust that a life partner deserves. Now, it appears Donakshi doesnt respect him, based on all that transpired and how easily he removed her from his life. Devakshi love each other still and may always will. But, without respect and trust.. a relationship is worthless. Just to get together for the sake of child, without resolving issues like Ishwari... it'll have another devastatic end and this tjme with a child involved. They can both love and care for Soha equally, at some point, but not as a married unit!

Being nice is different from really accepting them as persons which Bijoy and Ishwari never did in my opinion ,given chance they were always ready to accuse Dev, Sona .yes, I'm personally not advocating leaving families... and not blaming them completely for the broken marriage. Its couple responsibility to hold their bond strong.. i am saying that the elders too didn't help them either or did their part to save marriage..

here separation for me is these two shouldn't interfere too much and dev ,Sona shouldn't entertain others much in their relationship
