Episode of 7th of March - Tuesday

I read some posts and @shaavi has penned really well.
@deepsel : I love reading yours anyday.

Yesterday's episode highlighted the understanding shared by Ronita-Saurabh. Ronita didn't speak a word about the happenings in Bose's home. I was comparing her to Sonakshi. Then I thought its too early so let the bride formally arrive at the Boses abode. Saurabh resolved the issue but Bijoy was exasperated. Why? Viewers would know today. Ronita could be playing the role of Sonakshi here. Coming into a new house etc, how she manages conflicts between Bijoy-Saurabh would be interesting to watch.

The second highlight was Golu-Suhana. Absolutely adorable. But, Suhana's frankness can be considered rude. I couldn't figure out the need to use a fork- spoon for Indian food, in an Indian household, amongst an Indian family!!! Why are we Indians so pompous and proud to teach our kids to eat with a fork and spoon!!! I always find IT amusing when people eat idlis and dosas with fork-spoon. The essence of the cuisine is lost. I understand firangis doing it, though now most of them eat with their hands. Even if anyone has visited Sabarmati in Gujarat, meals are served and are supposed to be eaten by hand. It's so refreshing. Sorry, I digressed, but a six year old was served Indian food and not Italian pasta or Spanish noodles/spaghetti. 😃 If Suhana has no Bengali food at Boses home, then Bijoy has to be re-born.

Anyways, I felt the scene could have been handled more graciously. The Creatives wanted to emphasise on independent thoughts and actions, but a grandmother and grandchild has a special relation too. Dev stepping in to salvage the mini-Sonakshi rant was very cute. But the damage was done. Ishwari has put her thinking caps on and Sonakshi gets the rap again!!! Suhana has been brought up to handle herself. But the change in her expression when Dev told her about the joy of eating out of a loved ones hand said it all. She had never experienced it, unlike Golu who probably revels in it. Perfectionist in the making, Suhana seems to have missed out the little pleasures of life.

Till more lessons in the evening...

Hi Rekha😊

Since u highlighted the dining part reg the use of hands for eating and the scene somewhat forced in to show the independant factor of Suha, i do agree with your views.👍🏼
Few epis back, Suha fed Dev sandwich and she does understand feeding someone is a gesture to show u care and comfort the other person. She did admit Sona feeds her once in a while and she loves it. So it is not like she has missed out on the little joys of childhood. I was confused with this scene hence. As i felt , she did allow Ishu to feed her halwa when she first entered the house and as a stranger. Now that she knows she is her daadi, it would b more comfortable for her. But Cvs planted the independancy track thereand contradicted what they had shown in the past and yest.
I would like to highlight something in this context. Like its said Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder...i would say Taste lies in the hands of the beholder. I still cant forget the simple curd rice with olan ( a south indian pumpkin veggie with lentil) fed by my dad when i was Suha's age nor can i get the taste of curd rice with mezhukuvarti (a south indian raw banana curry) which my badi maa fed me. The affection and love adds its zing to the dishes which cannot equate to a fork and spoon. Even today, i love to feed my teen son whenever he feels like having from my hand. I love doing it and he relishes the warmth. I do agree with all aspects of parenting but sometimes feeding your children is supposed to b pleasure and not a matter of independant traits.

Loved seeing Suha occupying Sona's jhoola in a way symbolic to Sona's presence back to the house in the form of Suha. She rightly taped Gkb's banter😆...got the right feedback on daadi's strictness from Golu and looks like the tiny Khargosh is going to take charge of lots of unattended scattered issues in bonds of the house in her innocence way and daadi is going to fail in answering them. Its like keeping a glass of transparency in between them and Ishu will find it difficult to evade questions about her inner self. So before Ishu tries a conversion of Suhana , she needs to chk out whether her love is for Suhana bose or for Suhana Dixit.

Ronita's entry to the house will open the tangles to the bond between Bijoy and Saurab. Saurabwnever minded any of Bijoy's banter till now but in presence of his wife , he would feel it embarrasing and Bijoy needs to understand that and start addressing and talking to him the gentle way. Already Ronita's mom is on the way to kick hard the delicate strings of trust between Ronita-Saurab as Saurab will b irked to feel Ronita shared it with her mom inspite of his request to keep it to herself. The complications of the bonds r here to make an entry to the Bose household. It would be exciting to c how Ronita holds on to all and carefully threads her married life. Ronita is lucky, she has a mother in Asha who will share the same bond with her as with Sona.

The summer camp is expected. Let me forget the Boses and Dixits😆 and focus on my SRK- Kajol for the week...

Rekha, Soha herself told Dev that she will feed him just like her mama does since he had not washed his hands in the episode where he revealed to her that he was her father. A 6 year old girl going to meet her father's side of the family for the first time just tried to impress them with her knowledge of etiquette. She herself ate from ishwari's hand the halwa made by her when she came first. So it was not like she was against it. Just like Ishwari tries to make everything about her for attention she did that to feel that acceptance from her new family.

It's just because of the cool dida & maturely thinking Asha, that their marriage survived.

You make a very valid and important point here Grace. And this is why expecting Dev to deliver what Bijoy is able to, is not fair. Dev comes with a lot of baggage that Bijoy doesn't.

Men and women will both flourish when our societies will stop putting templated expectations based on gender, caste, creed, colour, religion

Deepa, that's a great post you linked here. I am quoting it if that's alright

How true that our human minds get attracted to negative things so deep that we totally forget the positives in that same place. After seeing forum's extreme reactions I was weary about the episode but decided to give a try and to my surprise I loved the episode after watching it😳.

If we take out Ishwari's extreme self centric behavior from today's episode , CVs had thrusted us with so many positives which were totally sidelined in forum once again.

1. Dev's Tilak Incident:
Last time when Dev sat in the Pooja, it was by Sona's advise and this time is head bowed to take that Tilak only for his daughter. He could have been a momma's boy when it came to matters of mind but today proved he will always be a father first when it comes to matter of heart! Him addressing Suhana as "Miss Bose" is enough proof how much he is willing to treat his daughter the same way she is and how he perceive her as Mini Sona - a secret only known to his heart !!

I saw the pooja incident undertones. i hadnt realised that Dev had again stopped doing the pooja because he did take the prasad on the Durga pooja day. Seems likes 7 yrs ago, he went back to being on no-talking-terms with Mr God. Miss Bose got Ishwari what she wanted. It was a very sweet moment when Ishwari said "Man to badal gaya hai"

2) Saurabh standing up:
A beautiful scene where Sona asking Saurabh to stand up for his lady love when matters ! An advice given from her expected broken past stopping Bijoy from screwing farther, an indirect hint how sometimes elder's influence does bring disasters in relationships !!

I can see where Bijoy's nervousness regarding a suitable bride for Sourabh is coming from. However, its only because he thinks everyone looks at Sourabh just like he does - a good-for-nothing-football. He doesnt know this sweet girl had a crush on our high EQ, self made sourabh.

3) Suhana- Golu bonding with Sona's Jhula:
Such a cute and heartwarming scene where both siblings laugh their heart out with Golu chucking the stranger out of her momma's Jhula and giving her rightful place. Did you guys noticed how the Jhula was decorated with lights and colors exactly like Sona liked?! I already saw Suhana's childishness peeping out in Golu's company and she is sure to see the harmless kiddish fun way of childhood with his lovable brother !

Yes I took note of that Deepa. It was a biggie for me. Golu and soha shared a chocolate and ousted mami's bhakt off of the jhula. That was the first place Soha sat after she came to IN as a family member. So while IN wasis are busy trying to make her their own, she was guided by Golu (who is half a Bose, Dev's foster progeny and Sona for all practical purposes) to find solace in the one thing that Sona has actually left in that house. While Mami and vicky are flapping about the money, Soha goes and sits on that one piece of furniture that her mother bought using her own money!

4) Sona - Asha heart talk:
A fabulous scene where one mother bares her fear and another giving her the strength👏. Every girl need a mother like Asha who reads her daughter's mind so clearly and advise accordingly. This scene clearly showed that Sona definitely didn't have any problem with Dev around Suhana but don't trust the troublemakers residing there. Very clever scene to justify Sona's contract which was made yesterday and also a bit to show Ishwari's vulnerabilities as a single mother too.

agreed... another amazing scene. The bit where Dev reminds Ishwari that is doesnt matter how you address the mother, had the Asha - aunty throwbacks. Asha handheld Sonakshi beautifully.

5) Saurabh - Ronita ❤️:
Frankly I loved this pair the most today😳 I never thought I will ship another pair in this show apart from Devakshi, but Saunita is so on man😆 Both actors did fabulous job in expressing their desires be it Ronita's "You are very cute - cheek pulling" or Saurabh's "Our future will be bright - dupatta placing"😉. Makers have showed how a relationship can bloom with little straight to straight heart talk between the concerned couple not involving anyone else ! I will personally join this barite now😆

agreed and nothing to add

6) Dev taking a bite from Ishwari's hand:
I have a totally different opinion here. Dev has definitely not gone older ways but he just wanted a clean happier environment for his daughter to see. He doesn't want Suhana to create an impression of a sulking Daadi (becasue he does know what drama Ishwari is capable of doing) and a careless kadoos "papa" here. After 7 years he got a moment which he wanted to cherish to the fullest and expects his family too savor the moment creating a much happier and healthier stay for Suhana. His main priority is to prove as a good father in front of her eyes than to please his mother as many state here😳

Okay so the much talked about "eat from my hand" scene. So, Soha had the sweet from Ishwari's hand when the tilak was done. I think for Soha it was more about table manners. She demonstrated she can use the cutlery perfectly (I loved how she immediately spotted a Bose on the table with their (annoying!) perfect, just perfect jingle).

I wish Ishwari could see how much effort Dev and Sona have put into this just so Ishwari could have her grand-daughter in the house ASAP. Soha isnt everything Ishwari had hoped for. However, somethings can change but they need time (e.g. its an important life lesson for Soha to learn that sometimes its okay to break the table manners rule and she could have a bite and then eat the rest of the food herself. Something that Sonakshi herself did during fake pregnancy. However, for that sonakshi needs to be there. She is the one who Soha looks upon as her ideal for now)

Finally a word about ishwari: This character has been shoved on us to such an extend that we are not ready to see even an ounce of justification from her side and CVs are the only one to be blamed for that. However if Ishwari is not hated so much, we could see her genuine shock on hearing "Mr.Dixit" from her poti and on Suhana refusing the bite. Being from an old patriarchal and uneducated society, Ishwari like aunties will behave just like her and I have seen them 😳!

Agreed. I wish Ishwari could see the best in whatever she has. Mr Dixit has a respectable connotation. She wasnt calling him Dev.. And like Dev said, she got to make the most of what they have and live for the future. Sadly Mrs Dixit, the 6 years are lost and they are not coming back. You yourself said it was a mistake. One you didnt want to make, but ended up making

CVs have beautifully woven the characteristics in a such a way that each one is acting like a mirror to other to rectify their older mistakes. A little patience and broad mindness while watching the episode will make the experience much more enjoyable IMO 🤗

P.S: Typed in hurry, excuse grammer and typos😆

Thanks Deepa. I am actually liking the season 2 episodes more than the season 1. They have more emotional depth than the other.

I liked your thoughts but also think that it goes with something Bijoy had once said. He had said "family, family hoti hai. Hamara tumhara kya hai". Sonakshi had once told Dev that her family is crazy, but everything was out in the open. It was black and white. There was nothing "hidden".

In the beginning of the series Dixit family was shown as a happy family. Even when Neha complained, she forgot it too and joined the happenings of family. Be it in handing the diet chart to Dev or combing Ishwari's hair or just talking with them. Only when Dev's love for Sonakshi came to the fore, the dynamics changed and the facade slipped. Only then we saw how broken their family really was.

Compared to them Bose family seemed very normal. Where the members of the family loved, trusted and respected one another. A happy family in a true sense. But here too when the love story between Dev and Sonakshi came to the fore the dynamics changed. Bijoy who trusted his daughters every decision was not supportive of it. He might have been to begin with, but the moment he felt his daughter is trying to change herself to please Dixit family, he recanted. He no longer was supportive of their relationship.

It has reached a place where similar to IN, Bose house is projecting a happy family who live, trust and respect one another. But underneath it all they have started to mistrust one another. Bijoy no longer trusts Sonakshi where Dev is considered and up to certain extent Soha too(once again in relation to Dev). Asha's confidence is not what it used to be in guiding Sonakshi as she feels she was responsible for Sonakshi's current state. Her guilt is based on her advise to both Sonakshi and Bijoy in accepting Dev's proposal for marriage. She feels if she had not convinced Sonakshi, maybe Sona would have been happy.

Sonakshi as we know is fighting a lot of battles single handedly and keeping her true feelings well hidden even from Asha. Saurabh also feels little guilty of hurting his sister by accepting Dev's money and not revealing it to Sonakshi. Soha too has concealed her wishes in regards to her father and his family.

Just like how Sonakshi's arrival to IN started unmasking the real people underneath it, I feel both Dev's and Ronita's arrival is doing the same. Right now Sonakshi is very focused on her "perfect" life. i.e. Perfect daughter, perfect dad, she being perfect herself etc. with Ronita coming, it looks like a lot of these perceptions will be negated.

Saurabh first trying to stand up to Bijoy, then asking his forgiveness for the same, going to meet Ronita taking Sonakshi's advice, coming back and again asserting that he is now a grown man all point towards the events that will unfold causing the facade of Bose family to be broken. I feel Sonakshi will see her own brother in a similar position to Dev.

I like the message of CVs. At the end of the day a family is a family. There might be different dynamics or colors but that is what makes them work. You find your own place and role in this circle of life and acceptance of the other people in your life. 😃

Shaavi, nothing to add... I agree the parallels are very obvious and it will be nice to see the story progress

I also felt Geena it was a child being a child.. Little Miss manners.. showing off her perfect table etiquette. alas, only a Bose would know what it is to be perfect and Elena maasi picked up on that. I wish Ishwari could look beyond herself and would be a sport and play along. How sweet would it have been if she said, "arey mujhe bhi to sikha yeh churee kante se khana". She was happy to learn a new word from a little girl but not ready to let her ex-bahu's daughter be a child and bask in the attention of her new family

Thank God you too felt the same DQ. I am not an anomaly😆 When she said she knew how to eat using spoon and fork she was trying to show off innocently, to impress them with her table manners. Poor thing she didn't know that her dadi had a truck load of flash backs she loves to reload and this particular FB was something she was trying to erase from her brain. And Dev who is a parent to more than 1 kid (Golu, Ishwari and Soha) had to go and pacify the youngest of the lot.😆

@underlined - Yes Geena.. I loved how he demonstrated to Soha that he still eats from Ishwari's hand s(which I think is sweet by the way). He told her he is her papa but also Ishwari's son. Sadly, like you said, he then had to leave Golu and Soha to their own devices and go attend to Ishwari. Her mood only slightly improved when he told her that Soha's face lights up when she looks at Ishwari. Mr Damage Control Dixit 👏

Me too DQ. Soha was able to see the beautiful picture as a whole which she was able to envision only partly. How complete they would have been if they were together?😔
