Tia, it's a MUST watch. Do you have Netflix account ? It's in Episode 19 of 'Stories by Rabindranath Tagore' series directed by Anurag Basu. 😳

EXACTLY!! And well said. I was just going to mention in another post... Durjoy Dutta being a writer of current generation - how can he not see the reality?

Or is the reality around him what he writes? Can't a writer be more realistic and a revolutionary for a change?

I so want to see the series - tales by Rabindranath Tagore that was telecast last year. Unfortunately did not find anything uploaded online.

Editing: Thanks Guddi for telling that the series is available on Netflix. Will watch it.

Hats off to Rabindranath Tagore (Although I am not his fan to be precise, but his writing and specially some female characters, no superlatives). 100 yrs back he represented the double standards of this society and on how the women are treated in their in-laws as nothing more than a commodity and tool to bear the heir of their family. And 100 yrs later we are watching a series where the Hero treats the woman like shit and the Mother-Son duo doesn't even acknowledge that as a human being Sonakshi deserves respect first, later as a mother. 🤢 If 100 yrs back a fictional character can take such bold step of coming out of her conservative suffocated marriage, why cannot we expect the same from Sonakshi ? I hope she never ever returns to the Bull-house and endorse the regressive thoughts the family holds in the name of 'vaaris', 'khoon' etc 🤢

I dont know why writers like Durjoy Dutta even bothers to try writing if they cannot do any good to the society. Not going into the writing style of Chetan Bhagat, but as a story-teller, except for the 'Half Girlfriend' one, he really makes the hero kind of plain, non-aggressive and simple, someone whom we can relate to. These unnecessary angry-young-man who ignites 'passion' (which is beyond my naked eyes and brain) is something I will never understand. How many men do we even bother talking to in reality if they are THIS rude ? 😕

@ Tagore series - Yeah must watch. Some of the stories ('Samapti' was another one) were so good. In Samapti the story was like the boy likes the girl and the girl's family gets her married against her wish to getting married to anyone because she was a tomboy. 😆 On their Suhaag-Raat, she revolts saying 'You saw me, you liked me, you wanted to marry me, but after marriage 10000 restrictions are on me, WHY ?' And the way (childish) she says it, one would feel adorable 🤣

Those days the writers carried social responsibility than just earning money through creativity 🤢.

hey Di awesome post as usual
I can't understand the sudden change in dev's attitude for his Mom
He was angry on her since last 7 years (Oh,boy aankhon ko sukoon milta tha wo scenes dekhkar)Bit now suddenly he forgave her!And all his attitude and gussa is only for SONAKSHI.
Yaar kabhi to socho us ladki NE kaise manage kiya hoga itna sab kuch.I really want sona to let her pain and frustration of the last 7 years flow
Dev should know the pain which she had to go through
I could see sona losing her "strong woman" facade yesterday
Dev should remember that how she had said in the story that she wanted to finish herself(soorajmukhi khatam ho jaana chahti thi) what If she would have committed suicide?
Btw new segments dekhar thodi hope aai hai mujhe.

Thank you. I honestly have no idea what was the reason for him to act for seven years? It seemed to me that since Sonakshi wasn't around, he was using Ishwari as the scapegoat. But the moment Sonakshi returned he turned her into a scapegoat and absolved Ishwari. I don't see any other reason for him to continue to mistreat Sonakshi but sparing the same for Ishwari who was more to blame.

While watching the episode I realized that, for the umpteenth time Dev cries about his pain, his sorrow, his life blah blah. But for the first time I was happy Sona was mum and gave him a befitting reply that he was alive thanks to her. 👏

How I adore women who doesn't indulge into self-pity and finds positivity and strength in everything. Reminds me of the Diwali episode Sona. 😛 Because the girl doesn't SPEAK out on her struggle and pain, she tends to be taken for granted. May be that's why an MCP like Dev tries to push her more to the corner to the breakeven point. But alas, hardly Dev knows the inner strength of this kind of iron-girl. 👏 Even if she reaches the point, she has got a wonderful family like Baba-Maa-Dadi-Dada to boost her morale and bring her back in the game. MCPs like Dev, no matter how much they try, will never be able to see the vulnerable side of such women because they simply don't deserve it. Had men like Dev had some honest intention to bring out the tears out of these women so that they feel light, may be women would have considered doing so. But it's all about stroking the Male Ego for these men which iron-girls recognize pretty fast. 👍🏼 It's not like girls like Sona (or me) don't break down ever, but we don't show it to any XYZ who would find 'happiness' in my tears. 😊

This way, Dev is unaware of 2 most sensitive emotions of Sonakshi - the power and extreme of her strength as well as her weakness. Men like Devs are the most loathsome MCPs who somehow get the women of their lives, but can never truly reach out to the deepest soul inside them. And I say it is for the better ❤️. Baring soul needs lots of sensitivity which clearly these kind of men lack in a wholesome.

Whoosh ! Sorry for such emotional content. 😛 Too much of thoughts a Tagore story triggers in me. 😊

Very very well said.. 👏👏 Every word ia real gold what you have written here.. A big salute and big fat hug to you. 🤗

Yes, Sona has to be just that and not give a hoot about him.. He cries his pain, his struggles, his hurt, his mother, his this and that.. Let him go on and on and on. She just needs to tell him thw truth and walk away.. Let him sit and cry for his pain all over again.. He doesn't deserve to even be given a chance to be healed.. But yeah Sona might still help him in healing by sharing Soha.. That's all, Dev.. It's in your hand to use Soha to heal yourself or hurt Sona or just make the little girl's life nothing like yours.

I am SO happy to have met such people in Online Forum that also in India-forums which is full of immature teenagers fangirling over chemistry and hotness 😊.

Dev and Ishwari are in a loop of their misery, sob-stories, entitlement stories and pain, the cycle is unbreakable. Even for calling one's wife's mother as 'Maa' or having a meal at their place after marriage triggers their sob-stories... Truly said by Dev - Sona will not understand. And by now I dont want Sona to understand either. Let them be in their life-long hole of misery and sadness, and you keep going strong and bright with your lightening family. 😃
