And that gives the mental satisfaction on dissecting through their thought process quenching the thirst for our mental ability... And that sure is needed for any successful story telling else we don't have much of innovation in coming up with new stories.. Because almost all are explored to death and done digging through their grave... 😆

The CVs very well know that they just have to draw a dot for each character with an action for them.. Rest all the audience will take care... 😉 And too much of hidden thought process fails to garner TRPs because not all like to think deep through the character mindset straining their own minds... 😆

Its plain lazy writing IMO 😆 The way these writers have literally destroyed Ishwari is proof of their lack of creativity 😆 Reason for the lack of TRPs- well I think this show is extremely disturbing and negative. There was a point when this show was wonderful and positive and all things awesome. But for months now, every character is gloomy, stuck-up, acting psychotic, being delusional- with just a couple of happy scenes here and there. That is not my definition of entertainment atleast 😆

If I were in sona's shoes I wud hv done the same thing of hiding soha's existence from dev...if dev wants his daughter then he has to prv to sona that he has a mind and heart of his own and not some puppet in ishwari's hand...dev is so now but he has to convince sona the same which wont be an easy task for him going by his past record...

Which is also partly why he gets the most sympathy😆 We know Dev wants a child real bad, we know he is a nice guy who just cannot handle things in life and resorts to manipulations or short term solutions, we know he loses sight of right and wrong when it comes to his family, we know he is alone, we know he is depressed and scarred, we know he already loves Soha and the kid brightens up in his presence. What about the other characters? What about Sona? What did she feel when she first got pregnant? Did she immediately decide to inform Dev but backtracked fearing the repercussions? Did she still want to inform him after coming to Delhi but his current aggressive scared her? Do we know anything about her thought process here apart from that stupid conversation she had with Jatin? None at all. Hell, I don even understand what Ishwari thinks and wants and why she is so delusional. That IMO, is the biggest issue of this show. We have no clarity in terms of who is thinking what and why a character reacts in a certain way. It is left to the viewers to interpret it the way we want depending on what we want to see. Oh Sona has moved on, she is happy with Jatin, there is no love, she is not sharing Soha cos she knows what Dev and his mom are capable of..Oh Sona hasn't moved on, she just has a strong facade, she is jealous, she is insecure like Ishwari so she wont share Soha. So what is the truth? No one knows and am convinced the writers themselves don't know😆

P.S. There is another reason why so many are rooting for Dev-Soha. Shaheer is wonderful with kids and the girl literally brightens up in his presence. I din see that in any other scene till date. And it looks like they have an instant connect and Dev will make for a wonderful dad. IMO, its more Shaheer the actor than Dev the dad😆 The kid probably brightens up because of Shaheer and that goes a long way in establishing that instant connect between the characters. I say it again. No one would bother with this show if not for the actors. Dev-Sona, Dev-Soha, Dev-Golu- its not the characters but the actors who compensate for the nonsense the writers spew😆

very well written...u r rite today krp's usp is actors while previously it used to be the characterizations...I wish writers start focusing on characters more

Very interesting post and a good topic for discussion.

I agree with you that Sona had numerous perfectly justifiable reasons for not disclosing Soha's birth to Dev.Ishwari's manipulativeness ,Dev's deewanapan when things don't go his way , Dev's money and power and the prenup would scare off anyone.

But Aishu 13 has made a very valid point when she says that Sona's reason to keep Soha away from Dev is not his behaviour but bcozSoha doesn't want to meet him. That doesn't cut ice with me.First of all Soha is too young and should not be expected or pressurized to make such decisions. Second at this age no kid( however mature ) is capable of making such decisions or understanding the consequences of such decisions.Third Soha tries very hard to please Sona(Obvious from her behaviour). So Soha would naturally say what Sona wants to hear and not the truth

Soha is also very perceptive , as children of single mothers often are. Sona's stunned and worried expression when Soha expressed her desire to meet her dad was enough hint to the kid that her mother was only giving her an option for namesake. She stated her wish that day, saw the reactions and changed her mind immediately claiming that she was joking.Sona does not realise that her implicit expectations and unsaid words are putting a lot of pressure on the child .She needs a father to balance this out.

Based on all this, I would say that Sona should tell Soha about her dad and get them to meet soon. Of course Sona's fears are completely understandable. It is also obvious that Sona does not see what we see about Soha's behaviour(as the audience we hv the benefit of viewing things from a third person 's perspective)But she has to reveal this truth to Soha sooner or later.Having moved to Delhi, the chances are that Soha and/ Dev may learn the truth from somewhere else sooner rather than later. That would even more painful and difficult. So better to get this done soon.It might have been a bit different if she hadnt moved here . Then she could have waited for a few more years( at most). But under the current circumstances sooner she reveals the better.

If Dev hears it from someone else things could get ugly, if Soha hears it fromsomeone else it could be painful. So time to reveal the truth soon

ps: Would like to add a point, esp seeing the title of ur post. What I have written above is a combination of the ideal, logical and practical. But life is never ideal & often not logical. So if I wasin Sona's place( practically), I would have avoided Delhi and told Soha the truth when she is 10-11. If I moved to Delhi, I would ultimately tell her the truth, but over a period of time.I would be caught in the same dilemma. To tell would mean risking a custody battle.. to not tell would be injustice to the child and risking a worse legal battle if Dev gets go lnow from outside. So practically,Sona is caught between a rock and a hard place and making a decision here is very tough.

For me, as a viewer it would be too early to discuss whether Sonakshi is right or wrong to keep Suhana away from Dev, because :
1) Is it clear what has happened to Sonakshi and family in the last seven years? She mentioned in her story that ' surajmukhi' was depressed and then Suhana brought back happiness in her life. Ishwari made it plain to Sonakshi that Dev is still standing where she left him seven years ago! So it's difficult to say who is right and who is wrong!

2) Sonakshi mentioned to an inquisitive person in the school that she has 'separated' from her husband! So, ideally, the law would ask her to share custody of the child with Dev. Why is she scared now, if she is not divorced. The pre-nup, was it doused in the flames that night? If not, Who has it!

Her reason given to Jotin is an eyewash, she is postponing the inevitable. If she wanted to hide Suhana, why come and settle in Delhi and share office space with Dev and live in the same vicinity? She is aware that Dev has changed to a denim styled angry young man, spending time with girls and alcohol. Within no time, if she finds proof, Suhana would always be with her.

So, I can't sympathise with Sonakshi because her struggle in seven years has not been given any voice or FB. Besides, if she was intelligent and smart, she would never get involved with Dev's tantrums. Just ignore and focus on your life and Suhana. Why make your own life difficult?

My heart goes out to only Suhana. I hope she finds what she wants. If her parents behave like fools, it's not her fault, right? 😃

One more point : Sonakshi hiding Suhana from Dev for 7 years. Can this be equated to Dev hiding her pregnancy reports and lying about her fertility treatment. Can this be seen as 'hisaab barabar'? Because both the lies were to ensure somebody else's happiness. Sonakshi hid Suhana for her daughter's /family's happiness while Dev hid the reports for Ishwari-Sonakshi's happiness?

Good post!
I don't really understand why people are so mad at Sona for not sharing the news about Soha with Dev. According to them Sona doesn't understand that Soha craves to meet her dad, which I think Sona understands. Soha is a kid, she'll obviously want to meet her dad after knowing that he's alive and ofcouse she's not old enough to decide if she wants to see him or not, so shall we assume it's Sonakshi's moral duty to take her to her dad. I don't think so. Sonakshi's duty towards her kid is to ensure protection, to keep her away from unnecessary problems and that's what she's doing. Dev and his family are really twisted. For all we know, they might have accused her of coming back with the baby to emotionally blackmail them, they could have easily told her off, and one can still bear the insults thrown on them but on their child, never. I think it's okay that Sonakshi didn't share the news.

You have told rightly !!! The show makes us come back because of the actors !! Be it even the one playing GKB or that Ranveer !! Very good casting !!!
Else they leave the plot then and there and just jump over !!! The monotonous Saas Saga shown after the wedding didn work . The wedding took place with a start of a good plot !!! But alas they made Ishwari Neha Mami and Vicky ... all be khal nayak over night !!!

If Sona cries and tell I can't be without Soha u ll take away ... or she decided not to go ... without showing Dev and his mom their flaws ... it's a big time failure .

I like the point that you are making.I have always maintained that Dev hiding the fertility reports was perfectly justified from his pov, just like I find hiding Suhana from Dev justified from Sona's pov.In my opinion, the two can equated. And in my opinion, neither of these actions are totally wrong.

Dev hid the reports so that Sona, his family and hers would not be hurt and more importantly,so that no one could raise any further objections to their already jinxed marriage.Sona hid Soha so that she and her family would not be hurt by the Dixits whom she viewed as selfish, manipulative and unreasonable. Both seem justified to me..

As idealistic human beings we often think that right and wrong are clear lines which can never be erased or changed. But I believe that life teaches us that these lines often change based on how we view things, where we stand and our own circumstances and insecurities. There are very few things which are right /wrong in an absolute manner. Most actions have to be viewed based on circumstances.

Of course Dev lying abt the pregnancy to Sona is a different thing...Again,I don't fault him totally on that..But was undoubtedly stupid and more wrong than right in that situation(as i see it).

In my view sona did absolute right by hiding soha from those monsters and phsycos
But she did wrong with soha only the time that she is now not even trying to figure what soha wants and giving a lame excuse
She could clearly tell soha the truth that she has fear that her father will snatch her when he will know the truth but although if you want to meet I will make you meet but she took risk one time but now didn't even want to talk about it because she somewhere she know if soha will say to meet then what will she do so to avoid situation inspire of knowing truth

I know exactly what you mean. CV's are afraid to show a FL calling a spade a spade if it's against the ML of the show or the BUZURG of the show. I mean today's scene, trust me if I were Sona, I would have stopped the elevator in the middle and tried to make her feel that 'I'm gonna choke you to death here budhiyaa now eat your words and die rot here'. 😡 But how calmly she answered. When one impression of this act is of being a class apart, it also means this girl is never going to SHOUT at the old regressive pathetic lady ever due to their equation. WHY ? A wrong person, irrespective of their relationship, is a wrong person. 😡

I hope CV comes up with better offensive and defending statements for Sona with Dixits. Dixits are ONLY offensive, why always play Defensive with them ? 🥱

@bold: Anytime I can take an upper-handed Sona mostly because she can do it without going for garnering sympathy... 😉 She has to be honest with her own feelings and emotions instead of playing being good and being victimized... I see her more of a woman who goes for her own choice and stands by it without being in the helpless mode... And that's where she has enough support to back her up... But for that she has drive her own self without being pushed by others...😊
