I agree with you regarding the context of the dialogue. It was meant as fraud n theft in business. After she said you are crossing the limits and looked at Dev his expression was of amusement, seeing her rising to the bait. She immediately regained her composure and replied.

Exactly Geena, his throw was as similar as her throw with spineless word. She got the similar reaction that you are crossing your limits. The only saving side of yesterday's scene was at least it happened in private with out public entertainment.

Just woah I disnt know a line's meaning can be taken yo this level ..

I just wanna say it was purely professionally targetted remark ..their was nothing personal their..so please dont give it wrong meaning..it was very much clear in the scene he referred to her business about how she probably got in to this position by fraud and all

And she instantly bounced back by giving an equal nastier reply to him

They are crossing boundaries but how far and how long is the curious part..Testing their limits..in these 7 years their stubborness and ego has grown up with them

So chill !!

Dev: I have more money than you, neener-neener!

Sona: I have money too! ALL THE MONEY!

Dev: People who make so much money in such a short time probs stole it. I can't trust anyone around ALL MY MONEY because let me remind you, I have SO MUCH MONEY.

Sona: You calling me a thief, butthead?

Dev: I know you are but what am I?

Sona: Takes one to know one!

Dev: Oh it's on!

Sona: Bring it!

*stare deeply into each other's eyes for way longer than necessary*

----End Scene----

I will be back with more serious comments in a bit 😉

Great discussions everyone! I'm so happy to see so many viewpoints co-existing harmoniously. Lage raho! 👏

Because Dev didn't say that Sona must have slept her way up the success ladder, I am going to assume he didn't mean it. However, what if she did? Should she be judged for that? She didn't take it personally. Should we?

@ underline please make others understand this if you can
What ever Dev meant ..can be controvertial for some but apparetnly she didnt react on it by taking it as personal remark although everyone else is making issue out of it..Dev didnt clearly say anything but looking at the flow of conversation (like I said ) it showed it was business related but by connecting it to such a reason is what dipicts the thinking of how low viewers can think..its disappointing :(

@bold I will not consider that option because Dev clearly didnt mean that

Let me explain why this dialogue is being hyped. It is the standard line of most of the men world over when a woman rises too fast in office. I myself have heard it said about a female boss whose rise to top was at jet speed. Forget men, even women colleagues say that.

But I have never heard such a statement being said about a man who gets fast promotions. A sad reality.

It is the easiest possible way of belittling a woman's achievements by making it sound that she achieved success not due to her brain but due to her body.

In this case I am discounting Dev's actions because -
1. He didn't make such an aspersions in public despite being severely provoked.
2. The two have been intimate and he used the leeway provided by the same. I don't think he ever said anything of that sort to any other woman.
3. In public he constantly calls it pure luck. It seemed more of an exercise in hurting sona over his public humiliation.

When you cross the line of decency, you lose the right to complain when someone else is indecent with you.

Yesterday's episode was one of play and tackle
I'm not going to go into Dev and Sonakshi's conversation
because for me bottom line she wanted to know if Dev still trust her or not does he think she is a thief like his family once thought of her father
while Dev having Vicky's fraudulent activity in his mind answers her so I'm passing by their conversation but something else took my attention
though Sona showed she was not effected with Dev's presence she just could not take her eyes off him , and Dev stepping closer to her its almost as if he wants to let her know she is still his he wants to irk her yet at the same time he wants to be close to her his eyes too wants nothing else but her
both of them seemed kind of relaxed in body language as perhaps subconsciously they getting used to the other presence
Dev is filled with naughtiness and playfulness its like when he locks her up in the office and then calls her he wants her to phone him he wants her to call out to him once again its like a need he wants to be that person to do for her and he simply can't tell that directly so he plays these games

I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me but I think his faade is slowly slipping having Sona around

👏 👏 Brilliant reply. This thread is using good language and still being critical where necessary w/out giving outrageous reactions to everything single behaviour of certain characters. That's remarkable and truly noteworthy. I am glad I chose this thread to give my views.

Thanks @samanalyse and @deepsel and @thedramaqueen.

Offence - Is it given or is it taken?

You are right Payal in saying that when a woman rises professionally, her relationships with her professional superiors are often questioned. Hell, even Ishwari's torn saree was interrogated by her female employer and she was made to feel small for trying to seduce the said employer's husband. What women like Ishwari do is they grow a thick skin. They don't take offence and go about their tasks. I think Sona falls under the same category. If I read her expressions right, she was more hurt when Bijoy's name fell on the ground and I loved the way she adoringly stroked his name before placing the placard in the Pooja place.

It's sad that women across the world have to face such bias day in day out. However, in this instance, Sona took no offence, thereby rendering anything Dev might have meant, actually worthless!
