Tia I will just say that I am sad today 😭

I am sad because in this day and age are woman just wombs a child making Machine?

I dont know what the creatives are trying to portray here but they way they are portraying is disturbing to say the least.

Today the CV's in my opinion have begun their butchering of Dr Sonakshi Bose character pretty soon she will be a shell of a person that we will not recognize.
A new age woman who does not know her own body, A doctor to boot.

This to me is a height of inferiority complex because if u need constant validation of being loved and accepted you are in a pretty sad place

Lol... True. The reason I think Dev went to actual God was because the reason he is in this trouble because his "Goddess" Mummy brainwashed his wife to announce pregnancy based on her say so. I think the trouble he has trapped himself in is finally starting to sink and hence this rush to the God. Jiska koi nehin uska to khuda hain yaaron... 😆

today was a comedy for me. such OTT, happiness from Ishwari.. all gaga over Sonakshi. OMG.. she actually fed Sonakshi halva from her hand, holding her chunni when she walked😃 definitely, happiness will vanish if sonakshi is not pregnant and all the love that she being showered on Dev's doll😡 Proves yet again, it's only about Ishwari's happiness and her needs/wants/desires. on the other hand, if sonakshi is in fact pregnant, then pre-nup track is coming soon. right before delivery, sonakshi will see the prenup and "ishwari ka sood" bye bye👏 remember.. Dev's baby has no rights on Dev or his family or his wealth if Devakshi separate😵 so, hopefully our sonakshi will realize that mummy's "sood kaa pyaar" also comes with strings attached😉

announcing to the world before confirming😆 like who does that in this day and age. Sonakshi has completely lost it. to me, it seemed to me that she is more happy about Ishwari's (the Dixit family God) attention and love more than the fact that she was actually going to have a baby with her loveofherlife husband😕 maa said "i am pregnant" so I am pregnant.. officially a dumb Dixit⭐️⭐️

and yes... Dev is deep in a hole that he dug himself. for the safety and welfare of his lovely wife, he needs to come clean and deal with this.. head on! if sonakshi is pregnant and he still doesn't discuss this "miracle" with her... Dev Dixit.. we have a problem! no reason for him to discuss with mummygod.

Sabita, you hit nailed on the head with that one sentence. Sonakshi before marriage was a person who didn't need someone's confirmation to know her own worth. But that's exactly who she has become after marriage.

To watch a strong, independent woman constantly strive to win approval of her in-laws with her patience, sincerity, love and care and fail every time only to win everyone's approval in one shot by becoming pregnant (or prospect of being pregnant) reduces a woman's worth into a baby-making factory and nothing else.

Ishwari said in her speech on Dev's birthday that a woman gets respect when she becomes a mother. Her characterisation is consistent. So I can feel nothing when I see her chirping over Sona and her love and care.

Sonakshi is so happy to win her in-laws' approval and finish the battle of the cultures that she is not even considering the prospect of not being pregnant. In fact, I won't be surprised that if she finds out she isn't pregnant, she might insist Dev to get her pregnant soon. She is just that desperate which is incredible pathetic to watch.

Dev is the only character I was watching today. Shaheer is an excellent actor. I think the illogical tracks CVs were throwing at him didn't do him any justice so far. In today's episode, he had less dialogues but his expression spoke more.

His expression perfectly emote the surprised delight in watching both family behaving like a family and not a natural enemy, his delight spilled over on Sonakshi so he chipkao-ed a impromptu poetry on her, his happiness turned into shock when Sonakshi revealed what he thought was impossible, I could literally hear his mental facepalm in pre-cap when Sonakshi said that she hasn't done the test yet.

I was just watching Shaheer today. Everyone else was just too OTT.

Thanks Tia for the post!
I dont want to watch today's episode...I would have watched it if they had atleast showed a small FB of something to make today's episode sensible...Saumies post was exactly what I was thinking...if only...

The following scenario was playing in my mind...Dev Sona talking about the symptoms in their room and Ish over hears them...because...duh...their bedroom is public property🤢...and these two dumbos never close their door😆...and Ish concludes that Sona is pregnant and does all the stuff we saw today leaving Dev shocked and confused and Sona ecstatic...but then these days expecting any logic from CVs is of no use...

All the Best for your exam!

Thought provoking post esp the analogy of new baby and new dil
Its really sad how a woman is just defined by her capabilities of giving birth. Its not right and absolutely insulting.
As for sona I feel yes doctor's confirmation should have been shown before celebrations but all these r organized solely by ishwari who thinks herself as ms. Know it all.
Ishwari is not a normal woman to whom sona could have said that let's still get tested for confirmation before celebration then ishu along with gkb and neha would have started how sona doesn't trust ishwari and her instincts. Even she has to order home pregnancy tests from servants or family members.
Ishwari is a mental case who knows even after a negative pregnancy report she still rejects the report saying "these medical people don't know anything "
Plus all these celebrations are just for creating more emotional drama

Tia, its true sometimes ppl don't announce it immediately... This happened to me personally.. We got excited and told all our family and close friends the moment we found out using hone pregnancy test... This later ended in miscarriage... We learned it hard way .. It was not only heartbreaking but we also had the burden to inform all the ppl we told abt pregnancy that we had miscarriage ..

My first pregnancy was very good and no complications so i assumed everything will be fine with this pregnancy as well but i was wrong... Ppl do annoucne to everyone even before their first doc checkup when they r overconfident or when they get super excited that they cant think anything could go wrong...
As much as i wanted sona to put her down and tested even when ishwari was asking her not to.. I could understand how she was feeling and she simply got carried away.. I feel so sad for both sona and dev...this track is going to make us cry buckets.. I hope they handle it very carefully.

Tia, here are few of my thoughts on the episode posted already on another thread. I am also posting a short discussion from that thread...hope you don't mind 😊

Frankly, IShwari's happiness is frightening. But I believe the Cvs are taking that route to fix the larger problems through this attitude of hers. Because the day she knows Sona is not pregnant/or she loses the foetus, will be the time Ishwari's other avatar will make a comeback in a fiercer way. But that will also be the time, the protector (for Sona) in Dev will finally and completely awaken. This will lead to the ultimate clash between the man who loves Sona like his own life and his beloved mother.

Whether we, as the more progressive women in our society like to accept or not, the fact remains that women, (especially when the woman is viewed through the lens that fixes her in the position of a daughter-in-law) are still held to certain expectations and their acceptance is based on those expectations. The way the in-laws view the daughter-in-law who has the ability to produce wonderful progeny is extremely different from the one who hasn't and can't. #RealityCheck

P.S - Motherhood changes a woman and motherhood changes her priorities but yes, as a woman, who has seen the world (that people like IShwari will never see), I know with great certainty that motherhood alone does not define a woman. But that is me...and qhite a few of us on the forum. But lets try and convince the traditionalists and all those women facing infertility problems that motherhood is not the be all and end all. It'll be in vain. The exact reason why Sona will be broken when she comes to know the news... Coz when someone chooses not to have a child it is different versus a woman who cannot have a child

PPS - Did you notice how shocked Dev was to see his mother's behaviour with Sona? Doesn't it speak volumes about his awareness of his mother's unacceptance of Sona until now despite all his protests to the contrary earlier? Finally, Dev is allowed to emerge from a the false cocoon he was wrapped in and I for one love that. Of course, now the Cvs have decided to dumb down Sona instead. It seems, CVs don't know how to create drama realistically without dumbing down characters.

Sonakshi does indeed have the insane need to be accepted by Ishwari and You know why that is? Because she knows how important Ishwari is to Dev. And for Sona, making Dev happy is her ultimate gift to him. And Dev tries his best to make Sona happy too. His surprise, SRK pose and filmy dance are all for Sona coz he knows she loves romantic films and he goes out of his comfort zone to make her happy. I loved him and that scene for that reason. The awkwardness of SRk pose was so well done by Shaheer. It wasn't meant to be perfect. I love my DP too 😆

Coming back to Sona, the reason why she reveals in front of the family is - Ishwari tells her she wants to see Dev's face when Sona reveals her pregnancy news to Dev. And therefore Sona is compelled to speak in front of everyone. And Sona has also gotten carried away because despite all her efforts since her marraige to woo Ishwari and to become a part of Dixit family, it is only now, for the very first time, Ishwari is treating her like a daughter and not a daughter-in-law with whom she competes. Hence, it becomes an emotional moment and people often get carried away during those breakthrough emotional times.

I know. This OTT drama was such a weird way to show a sensitive and emotional topic. I just can't get over it. Thanks for your wish...

That's precisely why this hits me so hard. Imagine if a man is treated like shit in his in-laws and suddenly everyone starts showering love on him the moment his wife gets pregnant, won't he feel like a stud? Then how could a woman feel anything but a broodmare at the same scenario?

The least they could have done is to take a home pregnancy test. How long does it take to grab one from pharmacy?

I am very sorry to hear about your experience, Lavanya. Miscarriage is indeed devastating.

But at least you announced the news after doing a home pregnancy test. What happened afterwards was unfortunate but no one's fault.

I can understand Sonakshi's joy in being pregnant, but the least she could do, as a doctor or even a rational human being is to at least get a home pregnancy test done. It takes less than 15 minutes to test.

Here whatever devastating news (if any) or heartbreak or emotional or mental anguish they will all suffer will be because of three people. 1. Dev for hiding such a big news. 2. Ishwari for jumping the gun and sweeping everyone else based on a hunch and 3. Sonakshi for not even bothering to verify the news through a simple home test before jumping into the bandwagon.

The issue of infertility is devastating. Why make such a joke out of it using OTT drama. This is not reality. No one starts partying with a hunch alone.
