There was a lot of discussion and comparison happening between Dev and Vicky since past 2 episodes.

Frankly speaking they are North pole and South pole... There's no comparison between these 2... The situations were different for both of them... They had exactly different childhoods. Dev has seen all the struggles, which Vicky has never ever experienced... Dev worship his mother, as he has seen what she has gone through for him... For their family. On the other hand Vicky too loves his mother that's true but not a devotee like Dev...!!!

Dev since years is the only one supporting his family and now Mamaji's family too... Vicky was never the support of his family... He has always been provided with what he needed... Either by his mother, father or his brother Dev... I don't think comparing these two and their actions in a particular situation is fair. They are exactly the opposites and their situations too were opposite in each and every aspect.

Now coming to the comparing them... I don't want to call it a comparison, but an analysis on how they are as Human Beings (and as a husband). I want to put forward my POV too.

He might be a changed man... Or may be he's changing or will change with the course of time... But that doesn't make me forget all his past mistakes... BTW we never forgets Dev's past mistakes either. Do we?

Now let me recall some of them:

First of all... He's a big time liar... He lie every now and then... He lied a lot of time to ask money from Dev.. Whether it was about studies... Buying clothes during Neha's wedding or when the whole family was worried about Elena and came made them all feel guilty of doubting him and left and came only after marrying her.

He is still dependent on Dev... I can't forget the huge cry GKB and GKBKB made during the whole employing Vicky fiasco... First of all, he's not even qualified, which the family think he is... Because he never took admission in the college i guess. Still given a higher position in the office. Which he is still not paying attention too.. What all he said when he came with Elena yesterday seemed fake.. I am working and all. Really Vicky..? You are the same guy who came back home during lunch and told your mum... Bosses are meant to rest and make the others work... You are the one who miss out on important meetings and never bothered to inform at your office. You don't even feel a need to inform your brother about it and then you come back and make a lame excuse to leave your brother guilty that you were in some genuine problem.

Remember he has even stolen Dev's gold watch... And I have never seen this guy genuinely giving someone respect expect for a very few instances... Remember his behavior in Dev's office.. The way he behave with Sona in an episode day before and his single stand for his wife made him an ideal husband. He don't even respect his wife's family. And who can forget he has misbehaved with his wife and her sister many a times earlier.

He chose the simplest route in love... To run away and get married. Mr. Vikram Tripathi.. You didn't have the guts to tell your family that you love a girl and want to marry her... Why were you afraid when Sona was about to call Dev and wanted to tell about your affair... You feel the family would have never agreed as they consider you good for nothing, then you could have waited... Tell them about your love, prove your caliber and then get married. You are very well aware how much your mother love you and will do anything for your happiness. Don't you?

The thing you did after the grah pravesh, to make your SIL realise that you have won. You love your wife Vicky... There was no need to make her sister feel, he has lost a challenge with you.

And yes he stood up for his wife... But then he has too. They married against her family's wish. Now she has nobody but him. If you have dared to marry her without informing anybody else, then you have to stand by her. You cannot leave her like that. But on the other hand you have threatened your mother that you will leave the house with your wife. For what? Because you are aware that Dev is there to take care of your parents. Did you ever think you are the only child to your parents? And you were talking about leaving them. For God's sake... Your mother always supported you in everything. You can make her understand too instead of threatening her. Show some respect to your parents Vicky.

A man with backbone/spine should have the guts to tell the family yes i love a girl and want to marry her and he'll not run away, lie to his family and come after marrying her. You have the backbone than make your family agree to get you married to your girl and don't run away without even giving it a try.

If a man like Vicky is considered a man with back bone than i would any day, anytime, anywhere in any situation will chose a spineless man like Dev for me.😊

A man who has seen all the struggle in his childhood... Seen his mother going through hell, but providing him the best education... Providing him with everything.. Taking care of her 4 children single handedly... Fighting the world for them... And he worship his mother for that. And why wouldn't he.

Yes he broke up with his lady for his mother... But was it easy for him too. She was his only happiness.. He chose his mother over his life...!!!

Now, if Dev would have told Ishwari that i love the girl, accept her or i'll leave the house with her. Can he do that? No he cannot... First of all, his first priority was always his family... They all are dependent on him.. He has the responsibility of his mother, his 3 sisters and now, Mamaji's family too. Valuing your family doesn't make you spineless.

He always wanted happiness for Sona no matter what... Yes he had done a lot of mistakes, because of him Sona's engagement was broken... But the way Dev is, he would have done anything to make things right for her. Remember the apology he made the newspaper publish when they published DevAkshi pic on the front page.

After they got married, he did say during the fish fiasco that they didn't do it intentionally (Just because he didn't yell doesn't mean he didn't stand by his wife). The very next day in the Muh dikhayi, he took stand for her infront of everyone... There were lot many outsiders present. Even if he sometimes, don't talk firmly for her infront of their family (Due to respect and he always apologies for their behavior and she do understand him.), he don't take anything against her from an outsider or infront of outsiders... There were many such instances when he took stand for her... Even when Ranveer came and blamed Sona... He supported her in Riya-Ayaan's case... He stood by her when Neha was blaming her 2 days back for asking money from Dev... He warned vicky when he was disrespecting Sona infront of him.

Also, remember when he came to know about Sona keeping 9 days fast in Navratri... He knew, Sona never kept any vrat earlier and when he thought that his mother has asked her to do that. He went directly to her to ask why she compelled Sona to keep the fast... Though there was misunderstanding... But his reason to confront his mother was Sona's comfort... He just didn't want her to do something she doesn't want to. Just for the sake of it... Similarly he was not convinced when Sona told him that she has to wake up early in the morning for Tulsi pooja, but Sona made him understand.

Even recently when he had fever because of having ice cream at night... Though his mother was a bit complaining, he still supported Sona... He told his Mum, even Sona is worried about his health.

He never leaves a chance to praise his wife and her efforts... He made sure to have the ice cream Sona prepared for him on his birthday... He had those Kachori she prepared the next day... Remember when he came back from office and was afraid Sona will get hold of her medical reports. She made the breakfast for the first time and he asked her to bring it he want to taste what his wife has prepared in the breakfast for the first time.

He always give her the credit... While employing Vicky, when the manager praised Dev's idea he immediately said it was my wife's idea. During Diwali while giving gifts to the family, everybody praised him, but he didn't fail here too and told them it was Sona's idea... Even yesterday he gave her the credit of making him understand the situation, first infront of Ishwari, then Vicky and then thanked Sona too for the same.

He always acknowledge her presence in life... He acknowledge her for making his life beautiful and for being understanding always... He always tell her how important she is for him.

He respect her family like his own. Yes he made a mistake and called Asha Bose Aunty... But he rectified the mistake infront of everyone in his birthday party.

He respect the elders, he respect the people working under him... He never ever misbehave with the ones working under him just to show the superiority... Whatever he has achieved today is al on his own.

Yes initially he was hiding about his relationship with Sona from the family... But he told them about him, on his own. He tried to make them gel along. He married her with the consent of both the families..!!

Just because sometimes, he don't speak infront of his family... Doesn't make him spineless... Even we don't every single time argue with our elders. Even though at the instances they are wrong, we keep quite. That doesn't mean, not taking a stand and respecting the elders will make us spineless. When it is needed he does speak for her and when he can't he atleast make the others to stop blaming her further by stopping them from blowing the discussion out of proportion.

If this man is what you call spineless, then for me i would prefer a spineless man with a heart of Gold i.e Dev instead of a man like Vicky with a spine intact.😊

Frankly speaking looking at the 2 men... There should not be any comparison. As they belong to 2 different world in terms of their circumstances and way to thinking.😊

This is solely my POV... This is not meant to make other's POV wrong... I just wanted to share mine...😊

Sorry for the longest rant... But i wanted to share my POV.😊

Completely Agree Jyoti. I think we can all safely say we love Dev Dixit for the man he is...

he doesn't need to look up to Vicky for anything.

Vicky ll change when he has to but ryt now he is third class jerk ...

Dev is not spineless for me ...but he shud learn to put across his point when needed to everyone even his maa ..but he ll learn dis wid tym

Thanks a lot Jyoti for keeping Your POV infront of us and for making this post🤗.

Since yesterday I was knuckle down to keep my POV that is exactly what all you said.

Completely agree on each and every word what you wrote. You have just penned down what I felt, and convey in my post because I too want people to give a thought before comparing both of them and asking Dev to learn something from Vicky.

There is a much more difference between the two as what Dev is today, he earned it and Vicky got hand to on the silver platter.

Standing ovation and round applause for you Dear. 👏

(If this man is what you call spineless, then for me i would prefer a spineless man with a heart of Gold i.e Dev instead of a man like Vicky with a spine intact.)

I SURELY SECOND TO YOUR THOUGHTS AND WILL PREFER A SPINELESS MAN LIKE DEV THAN VICKY.

So as you said no comparison between the two.

Agree... There's no need for Dev to look up to Vicky for anything...!!!! People say there's no harm in learning good things from others. But then, it should be vicky who should learn from Dev.

wow excellent post dear..but i think there is no need for comparison if we compare dev with vicky it would be insult for dev..even in yesterday's episode he lied with devakshi to get dev's bedroom for their special night..sorry to say this will one day vicky will want to be with sona instead of elina bcoz of sona is beautiful than elina😡really guys this is the thought came to my mind yesterday while watching the episode 😡

Finally I found some alike thinking person...

To add up Vicky is still immature ... And dev do think form all the angles..

And dev thinks that if he is doing something then Sona will surely support him...and if Sona isn't getting something that means the same is even not got by dev ... Except extra Pyar from ishwari Ji...

It's really difficult to find a person like dev... Who will bare the taunts of in laws in their house ( Vicky time pei Jo Bhi bijoy Ji ne kaha) ... Even though it's Vicky s fault.

There was a phase where he was trying to balance the relations in that one will get less chance .. if u remember on his bday his talks with mama Ji that making one happy will hurt the other ...

In that way there were instances ... But he is trying to find the balance.. now he is learning..

And Vicky babaa.. he just got married to prove Sona wrong ... He might be loving Elena but the sudden marriage decision sole reason is to show his smart bhabhi that he won... Making his mother Accepting whole heartedly is the respect we give but not by giving an ultimatum or a warning ... Still I dint see even one instance which showed me that he has changed ... He dint apologise even one member for his act... He did to dev just as to make sure his position is intact and because of his mother sayings... That's not the sign of change ... He wanted to give the best to his queen OK agreed but not by grabbing the others comfort. But by earning it...

Still immature.. ...

Haa true that dev was even paagal in his love that in the start he did some immature things but later when he realised he was wrong he tried to stop those.. unlike the Vicky...

Vicky and dev can never be compared. ...

Dev n vicky..actually these 2 characters r poles apart. Both r flawed. To b frank, i didn even want to compare these 2.

Dev is a self made person, with a bitter childhood ,who lost his dad @ a very young age. He had seen his mom struggling to take care of their family .He considers his mom as God. He's a very devoted son n brother.He loves his family immensely.His personality characteristic is if he wants something, he'll go to any extent to achieve that. He thinks money can make everything possible. He got sona fired from her job so that he can hire her as his mom's personal nutritionist. His intentions r always good but execution is nt always right. He's compassionate nt only towards his family, but to others as well.

But he easily falls prey to emotional blackmailing esp by his mom. I can never consider him as spineless (becoz if he's really spineless, he wudn b able to confess his luv to sona after natasha engagement fiasco, also he didn go to sona engagement with ritwick as in both these incidents maataji had denied her approval ) but an emotional fool.. yess he foolishly affected by emotions n soon starts the guilt ride. That's y he didn think twice during that sleeping pills drama to broke up with his luv sona. He did a grave mistake there as he took that decision by himself without proper thinking. He shud've discuss that with sonakshi n both can wait for some more time so that everything get sorted out. But then dev ki deewangi ka kyaa ??

After marriage sona had to face so many taunts in dixit mansion. She tried to defend herself but dev cudn do the same most of the time. He's very respectful to his elders that's y he finds it hard to defend his wife always but he did defended sona wen ever possible. But i wud luv to c dev voicing for sona against taunts if she's right bcoz every time nt everyone is right . So support u'r wife if she's right , NO MATTER WHAT. Dev's character is improving a lot these days . Another thing i liked about dev is he never manhandle sona. I had watched a few shows only & had seen most of the heroes manhandle the heroines. Sometimes it seemed romantic but most of the time it ends with hurting but this in turn leads to passionate luv 😆 most cliched scenes in a tv soap !!

Vicky...the less said the better..but one thing..if he's genuine, his dialogue 'agar bahu jaayegi, beta bhi ghar se jaayega ' is definitely an assurance to elena which is definitely needed for her after this elopement.

In short everything is needed in a correct proportion ...lil bit of dev( aubhothro nature ), vicky (wickedness ), Ishwari (possessiveness), sona (mahanta ) but if it becomes more than the required amount, it leaves a sour taste .
