I agree with the view that Dev and Vicky are two different personalities. I would prefer Dev over Vicky anyday, because he is not spineless. 😊 That's a very cruel word used to describe his adjusting nature. In any family, to make relationships work and have a healthy atmosphere, people have to adjust and compromise. Dev has always found himself on cross-roads to choose between his mother and wife. Both are very important people in his life and he loves them immensely. IF he chooses his wife, he would be labelled hen-pecked and if he listens to his mother, he becomes a 'Mama's boy'.
Now, Dev is planning to do something obnoxious to remove both labels. That is also an extreme step and not advisable. Spineless is a word used for someone who is 'good for nothing' or cannot speak his mind. Dev has had clarity of thoughts and actions on several occasions. On the other hand, can you label Mamaji as 'spineless'?? That also would not be acceptable because he corrects GKB wherever possible and even reasons it out with her. But GKB does not lend a ear, so can Mamaji be labelled?? I don't think so... 😃
