Isnt this what happens all the time in a family ,we easily accept requests from others but dont give in easily when the spouse asks for the same.. It is because you expect your spouse to understand your pov and support it.. You dont have the same kind of expectation from any other relationship.
So when neha came and asked to give rvs job back as bhaifhooj gift.. He just said ok as he doesnt expect neha to understand his pov

I personally do this a lot and i am suremany of us do it too.even though you strongly believe somethibg is not rightyou still do it when you in laws or parentsask you to do it...and you wouldmake a big deal of it and will not yield if your husband asks you to do the same thing

Sonakshi is not upset with the fact that he agreed with Neha and not with her. Sonakshi is upset because Dev makes the same mistake again and again but never accepts and rectifies them, she's upset because he keeps telling her that she's a part of the family but when time comes he tells her to stay out of his family matter, she's upset because not only his mother and mami but he, himself makes her feel like an outsider. Do normal husbands do that with their wives?

Dev might actually ask Neha and GKB to shut up and allow Sonakshi to sit in the next meeting of Ishwari's family.

True! But I don't think he's gonna say anything to Neha and GKB. Once Sona comes back, he'll be back to square one. It's high time they show some changes in Dev, the same old Maa's flashback, Dev guilty, yelling at Sona, being lovey dovey, back to normal routine thing is irritating as hell!

In the case of Dev the fear of losing Sona has always acted as a catalyst. Please note that I am not equating this to true lauuu. In fact selfish and obsessive behaviour only indicates loving oneself and wanting what makes oneself happy.

Happiness of the object of such love is not to be considered for even a second.

Coming back to the main topic, Sona's leaving, not coming back immediately will trigger the insecurity in Dev and force him to introspect His Mrs Dixit comment and telling mummy that this is Sona's house was exactly that. Trying to convince himself that he is not wrong when he knows he is.

So in my opinion this incident should improve Dev a bit even if it is motivated by fear.

Plus Ishwari is going to get the shock of her life by Dev following Sona like a puppy and her insecurity is going to get really ugly.
All these are going to be stepping stones in degodification of Ishwari which is necessary if the story has to progress and there is no separation track planned.

If a separation track is planned Dev will fall for Ishwari's tricks which will start after this incident and Sona will ultimately learn. Even she is not stupid enough to fall for the same crap again and again

Baat kahan se kahan pahuch gai - start to Awww se hua jo hahahha tak jana tha but again serious discussion shuru ho gaya.
BTW - no offence to anyone but I have found very less humour on this forum. May be its due to the positions taken for different characters and maintaining consistencies in the positions.

Precisely!!! A woman is independent when her opinions, thoughts are respected. No woman wants to be treated with patronizing pat. But to answer your question, independence or respect are not given by others on a silver platter tied with a red floppy bow. It has to be taken/demanded and fought for it if needs be. Be it independence from British or independence from a pre-conceived idea of tradition or independence of thought or mind. Nothing worthy comes free.

Did Sona demand her due? Did she stood up to Dev and demanded that she won't tolerate being treated as second class family in her own home? Is she willing to fight for her rights as an equal partner in her marriage?

Well then, the answer is never or until she actually is not willing to settle for anything less than her due respect.

THIS! Yes. He needs a clown, not a wife. He says that he's proud of Sonakshi because she's independent but his actions say otherwise. Just Earning money, having a job and managing everything alone doesn't make a woman independent. A woman is independent when she has all this along with the freedom of speech, when her suggestions and opinions are considered important, when her words are taken into consideration while taking important decisions. When will Dev give her that kind of independence?
