DEV's POV

I checked my called id Vicky... in the aftermath of the sudden wedding, Vicky had been almost disowned by mamiji.. I clearly remember the words that were exchanged when the news of vicky eloping with elina had spread like a forest fire!! "haey!!! Kya hogya!!! yeh garib ki beti yeh sab sunne se pehle marr kyu nahi gai!! Haey bhagwan!! kar dia na mere bete par bhi jadu tona unn bangalno ne!! zaroor woh hi bhaga ke leke gai hogi mere Vicky ko!! Haey!! ab yeh garib ki beti kahan dhoondegi apne laal ko!! "she went so over board with her words that it became really difficult to contain her... I still remember when she became verbally abusive towards elina, thats when mamaji almost slapped her, to keep her mouth shut. that's when she decided her time in the mansion was over, and without saying another word, she left for her brother's place!! The call got disconnected, and my phone again started vibrating, it was Vicky, for the last 2 months the house had been mum on this topic!! They had fled like the refugees they were, and started a new phase in shimla leaving us dangling, to face the wrath of the angry Bengalis who descended two days later and blamed mamaji for vicky's ordeal, mamaji being the gentleman he is, took the matter in a calm and composed way and requested the families to accept the marriage!! The bongs were apprehensive, but a month later elina had called, to inform how they had accepted their marriage, and how she had bagged a job in a leading school in delhi and how they had moved back!! The only problem was mamiji, Vicky had vowed that till the time mamiji, would not accept the marriage, he would not live under the same roof, so they had stayed near the bose house!! Now that she was back home, it was time they moved back with us!! I looked at sonakshi and caught her gaze and quickly mouthed Vicky and pointed towards the phone in my hand, I got up and went into the room and picked the call up "hello han bol... han mami vapis aa gai hai.. han aaj sham ko humne sabko dinner pe bulaya hai... tum dono bhi aa jao... theek hai mai mamaji ko bata deta hoon... sham ko aarti ke baad aajana.. theek hai" I hung up and shook my head, maybe coming back today was not a good idea.. I moved out and saw the females had dispersed and immersed themselves in other tasks!! I sat next to mamji and said "Vicky or elina aaj sham ko ghar aa rahe hai... "

he looked at me and smiled "beta yeh toh bahut aachi baat hai... mera sara parivaar ek hi din mein pura ho jaega!!"

"aapko koi problem nahi hai?" I asked him he just smiled

and said " mujhe kya problem pehli baar, uss 5 foot das inch ki gathri ne koi aacha kaam kia hai.. elina se jyada samjhdaar koi or ladki mil nahi sakti thi Vicky ko.. or mai khush hoon ki usne apni khushi ke liye jo bhi kadam utahya usske bare mein usne tujhse sala li, teri madad li... mai toh issi baat se bhaut khush hoon.. kyuki mai janta hoon, jiska dev jaisa bhai ho.. voh kabhi galat nahi kar sakta..." I felt happy that my family trusted me with so much!!

" dev, chal, aaj abhi hi shiv mandir ja kar sabko kapde or kambal de aate hai.. sham ko toh humne sab ko dinner pe bulaya hai na..." ma said

"han bhai.. jao ja kar aao" mamaji said smiling...

"han maa mai chabi leke aata hoon" I said as I moved to get my keys and tell this to sonakshi!!

The evening dawned with the same festive spirit that had sunk in since the morning, everybody was dressed in their best, and I was waiting for my wife to make her appearance, she had gone to get ready after I was all dressed up, so finally she walked down wearing a beautiful purple and green Bengali saree... her hairs were tied up and she wore matching gold jewellery to complement her look, she walked past me and headed straight towards maa and said "aarti shuru krte hai" maa handed her the thal and she did the arti just like she had done when it was her first time in the house!! I was proudly watching her as she finished the aarti and moved to take blessings from everyone and came to me in the end... feeding me the ladoo she said "happy diwali hubby"

smiling and feeding her some I said "happy diwali wifey!!"

well this didn't go unnoticed by nikki who began crooning "how romantic" and the hall burst laughing embarrassing sonakshi and me!!

We were busy bursting some crackers when Vicky and elina turned up!! Nikki ran and hugged Vicky and elina squealing "Vicky bhaiya, elina bhabhi!! I am sooo happy ki aap log finally ghar aa gaye!!"

I looked at sona who was staring at me smiling her one of the best smiles!! "hi eli.. Happy diwali" she said as she hugged her "happy diwali Vicky!!"

she stood in front of him and said.. smiling Vicky said "happy diwali bhabhi"

I was happy to see Vicky and elina, together and soo much in love, pleasantries were exchanged as I guided them towards mamaji who stood transfixed at the door seeing his only son make a come back in his life!! "nalayak" he said as he raised his hand

" papa kya kar rahe ho yaar, meri shaadi ho gai hai" he said as he covered away from him and everybody burst into peels of laughter including mamji who just kept his hand on his head as he blessed him and said "kahn reh gaya tha tu beta!! Ab tu aagay hai toh chal apni maa se bhi mil le!!" he turned to elina who bent down and touched his feet.. he pulled her up and said "saubhagyavati bhav!! Humesha khush raho or aise hi iss nalayak ka sath deti raho" smiling she just nodded and stepped the threshold as vicky's wife for the first time!! They approached mamiji... as soon as she saw elina she turned pale as if she had just seen a ghost walking into the mansion!! The situation was serious, but no one could deny how funny mamiji looked... watching her I just could not control my laughter, and as luck would have it even nikki was having a hard time stomaching it, sonakshi nudged me to control and I somehow managed to straighten my face!! But the scenes in front of us just got more intense when elina and Vicky bent down to take her blessings and she just stood there unmoving!!

"ma yaar ho gai galti ab kya apne bte ko kabhi maaf nahi kroge kya??" Vicky said facing mamiji!!

"maa kuch toh kahiye na!!" elina said this seemed to have broken her trance

and she said "aagya tu?? Le aaya isse??" we all stood there waiting for the outburst

but then maa came and they both took her blessings "bhabhi ab maaf kr dijiye na inhe... aisi bhi kya narazgi!!" reluctantly mamiji placed a hand on both their hands and blessed them!! And everybody cheered as the trio hugged each other!!

The evening went as planned all the awaited guests turned on time and we had a lavish dinner all the while I made a point to keep sonakshi next to me, holding her made me realize yet again that no matter what, as long as I have her, I will always feel happy!!

SONAKSHI's POV

"Well... that went well" I said as I stood before the mirror and dev followed me closing the door behind him!!

"han.. ab agar tum sab plan kro or who aacha na jae aisa toh possible nahi hai" I just gave him a whatever look..

smiling he came to stand behind me and as I moved my hand to remove my jewelry he turned me around and beat me to it... "mujhe aache se meri biwi ko dekhne toh do"

"how cheesy dev" I said letting him remove my head jewelry, and then taking all his time to remove my earring.. once he was done I said "dev muhhe aapse kuch zaroori baat krni hai!!"

"shh" he silenced me and his lips crashed on mine, every time our lips meet I still feel like a bunch of nerves and nothing else... we pulled away when I was breathless and he kept staring at me!!

"Dev this cant wait" I again urged

and whining he said "aacha bolo"

"woh dada ki shaadi hai and sab guest bhi aa gaye hai toh maa baba ko help chahiye so, mai kal se shaadi tak ghar pe hi rahungi!!" I said...

he was silent and then said "kaho gahr pe nahi rahogi... I will miss you sonakshi" he said in a small voice!!

"arey yeh kya hai bacho jaisi harkate kr rahe ho!! Mai aajaungi wapis, humesha ke liye thodi ja rahi hun..." I said

he tightened his grip on my hands and sincerely said "mai jane bhi nahi dunga" I pushed him away and started walking towards the bathroom to change "aacha theek hai chali jana mujhe ek kiss toh de do!!" hearing his words I just rushed into the bathroom

before closing the door added "in ur dreams mr dixit"

"this is not fair " I heard him say and I laughed!!

When I stepped out of the washroom dev had already changed out of his dark green shervani, and it was lying on the bedroom chair... And he was busy with his laptop on his lap and his cell phone on his ears, "han theek hai... but bhai dooj or uske next day ki sari meetings reschedule kar do" I glanced at him and he shrugged a what "han theek hai.. koi baat nahi woh soni's vaise bhi property ki baat krne aaye the.. and I am not interested!!" I moved and folded his shevani and threw it in the laundary bag, and when I heard him disconnect his call I moved towards the bed and sat down next to him, he motioned me to straigten my legs and he kept his head on my lap... I smiled as my hands found their way to his thick mane!! "pata hai mai soch raha tha ki, since saurav and nupur ek simple si temple wedding kr rahe hai, toh hum ek kaam karte hai.. raat ko unhe ek surprise dinner and party throw krte hai... unhe bhi aacha lagega or thoda different bhi ho jaega, and most importantly they won't miss out on the wedding day fun!!" I was silent still processing what my hubby said "kuch bolo na"

"wow mr dixit aap itne sensitive, intelligent kabse hogye" I amanged to say

he got up gave me a side smile and leaning into me said jabse aap meri zindigi mein aai!!!"
