Here's why Dev's character is receiving hate!

So guys I commented this on someone's post, copy pasting here cause I'm not bothered retyping this thing all over :|

Also, yeah I might get LOADS of disagreements here but this is the truth. Here's why a few people like me have gone against Dev's character. His crying and cuteness and all is heartwrenching, but to be very honest, I strongly feel this was needed. Just saying... If I was Sona, there was no way I would've gone back. In this case, I feel Sonakshi's getting married wasn't so necessary for the moving on track, but then again, what else would give Dev anything remotely close to so much pain?

So enjoy reading, and please drop below your views :)

I feel Dev deserves this pain. I mean of course its hella heartbreaking to witness the break downs but oh well, I'd much rather see pain and angst than see a happy ending at the cost of sacrificing Sonakshi's self respect. I feel here, Dev was very very very wrong. Sonakshi has fought for her love and witnessed a lot of pain before Dev confessed. She has also seen hardship after love in Dev family and experienced pain of not fitting in. Dev got his love very easily, he didn't have to work for it. So I feel he needs this. Sonakshi completely molded herself to fit in with his family and accepted them. But did Dev ever consider them as his own? Did Dev ever need to fight for Sona? Did he ever take a stand for his love in front of his family? NO!! He didn't! He has never realized the worth of the gold he's lost now. And now he will truly know how important she is. As Sonakshi rightly said, he is completely blindfolded when it comes to his mom. He can't see the truth, ever. He needs to walk out of this bubble.
Also, the break up was so cruel. If he wanted to end it, he could've been gentle, subtle and more mature. He snatched away her love, her reputation and her self respect. He kicked her out of his job.

Here I feel that CVs have kinda messed this up a bit. I mean in this break up, they haven't shown as both the leads at fault, it seems all towards Dev. I mean if I was that girl, I wouldn't be remotely close to the guy who broke me so badly and I would literally date someone to break him. What Dev has done is ridiculous and I really don't know what and how he's planning to get Sonakshi back because it seems like a dead end now. Its utterly wrong to say that they have equal fault in this. Sonakshi has done NOTHING to deserve such bullsh*t.

So keep smiling and thank you for reading,
May love and god be with you ❤️
Steffie🤗

Dev badly needed a wake up call in the form of Ritwik. This pain will serve him well even after marriage. It will act as a permanent check Point for him to not to do anything that would make him lose Sonakshi again
Regarding Sonakshi's fault in this mess let me get a microscope. Maybe I will be able to see it then. 😆

Or should I go to 15th century with a time machine. In those archiac times everything used to be the females fault. 😆

Brand the jilted woman characterless and insensitive if she dares try to live again. Either she should commit suicide or sit by a lamp waiting for the man who ditched her. The man has the right to forget all the vows. Even in that case it is the woman's moral duty to fulfil all her promises 🤢

The only two people at fault here are the mad mother and the son who is refusing to man up. Hope this entire drama will help him emerge a stronger person.

I want Devakshi but with a strong Dev who has the capacity to walk with Sona with his head held high not the boy whose mother got him his favourite toy because he was howling for it.

Phewww!!!!!!

Well first of all, the historical reference in your message is just 🤣

But on a serious note, thank high heavens someone knows exactly what I mean. I am kinda scared to say something about my opinion on how much I am annoyed at this butchered character of Dev, but I think most of the forum is now pro-Devakshi and are ready to kill people who even say a word against Dev's ridiculous behaviour!

I totally agree with you!! I have lost a lot of sympathy for Dev. You had the opportunity to tell your Mataji that you broke up with Sonakshi because of her stunt with the pills. I don't even blame Dev for choosing to break up but the manner of how it was done was simply unacceptable. Then to try to call her after that, like what were you thinking? Would she even want to speak to you after this crap that you pulled?
Now she wants to move on, because lets be honest, you have not given her any indication that you miss her or that you even love her still. For all Sona knows, you will agree to marry the person your Mata choose for you. Now you remember your love was love that should endure all times and you are agitated that she is trying to lead her life and not remain in the past as you and your Mata often want to?

I have to be honest, I don't expect to have a smile on my face every time I watch this show-but all this crying is upsetting me...there is only one nut job that needs to dealt with firmly and that is Mataji.

As of now hurrying for office, all I want to say is - a marriage can't go on with love and sympathy.. Makers are doing all this Bullshit to trigger viewer's and may be Sona's sympathy.. But they are not doing anything which will make us respect Dev.. At the end of the day, mutual respect is most important in a relationship and also for a character to like !! 👎🏼
Edit **

This whole drama reminds me of Dil Ka Rishta movie - a date arranged by Arjun Rampal (Jai) for Aish (Tia) and Priyanshu (Raj) 🤓 It was creepy then, and it's creepy now.. I'm glat at the maturity of Rithvik that instead of creating a fuss over it, he is going to silently ignore it.. He is so civilized..
Can Dev fall further down? Just when you think no he can't, he proves you wrong 😵 I didn't expect him to say Yes when Sona asks him to marry, but this whole arranging date and God-knows-trying-to-do-what is really disturbing 😵 From a sober gentleman he has come down to doing sadakchaap harkatein.. I, in no way, can justify this and my head is spinning reading these articles 👎🏼 Another break-up scene was not at all needed when it pretty is based on the same sentiments as previous one..

Intense my foot, this is pure nonsense, they are dragging all characters to drain now, if not just Dev 👎🏼 Why did Tina call Sona instead of Ishwari ? Why did Sona put his head on her lap ? Trying to do and be what ? Getting affected seeing your man like this is one thing, but know your boundaries lady ! Hope you tell Rithvik about these as well..

The story is pretty much going to drain, just ONE thing I asked for and expected from the makers - to show Dev standing for his love, instead of triggering sympathy, command respect, but NO, Ishwari will be the one who will first give consent to them, and with this, it's pretty much back to square one - a spineless lead can't go against his God-like mother, and everything in Dixit house happens as per Ishwari's wish.. 👎🏼 Does that erase the basic problem @ CVs ??

I'm hella sick of how Dev isn't realizing that his mom is bent upon taking away his happiness. She's just selfish. She found a guy for Sona. She keeps defending his break up decisions but deep down she knows its because of her. I pray for those who know such people in reality and those who have a mom as such! Gosh!

@bold: OMG OMG OMG THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY THROUGHOUT!!!!!!!

I wanna see Dev pine for Sona, as he is right now. But I wanna see a track of Khatri revealing Ish's reality and showing him the true face of his god-mother. I mean seriously, we need a good eye-opener for him and he needs to take off the blindfold he has everytime its about his mom. He needs to see the truth. And, he needs to get Sona back and stand up for her in front of his mom. I think its drifting away from initial promos. Idek man but your words are just so on point! Bless you for your POV on this <3
