One of my bestie, she was my colleague for around 6 yrs and saw her amazing story before my eyes. Her marriage was arranged one and its a perfect indian wedding with all ceremonies. She is also just like any other normal girl who has dreams about her partner and their future. After some time of her marriage, slowly she came to know about all the lies from the guys side starting from his age to his salary. She was completely broken. No one can imagine the pain she went through because of this betrayal. I saw her breaking in to pieces before my eyes and I can never forgive that guy for this.

The best part is, She gathered her self and fought back. I got surprised when got to know that she wants to give him & their relationship one more chance. So many Q's were running in my mind but i was able to ask her only one Q. WHY? Her answer amazed me & taught me some valuable life lessons & completely changed my perception towards life. Below is her answer :

Perfect life partners or prince charming are only exists in fairy tales & in dreams. In reality, no one is perfect. Not U, not Me, not him & not even my relationship with him. He is not a bad guy but he doesn't know the meaning of responsibility because his parents never taught him. Even if i blame him or his family or my family, nothing and no can can undo the damage. I cant change past but i can build my future. He cheated me & broke all wedding vows but what about the vows i made? I cant accept failure so easily that too with out even fighting for what i want in life.

What followed after this is her amazing fight with her destiny. Things didn't change over night but she never gave up. Finally she built a wonderful relationship which actually took her tears, blood and sweat but she says ITS WORTH IT. 😊

Amazing!
First, thanks for sharing...

We are the choices we make, isn't it?
Who is to say this is right or wrong, it's everyone's own perspective. The least we can do is not judge and be a good friend when in need... and hope for the same...

I feel the only thing we can do for ourselves is to clearly know what is that thing we really want. To have this freedom of choice is so important. What we do with it then is our effort - to live with our decisions is so much better than to live with forced circumstances...

Much power to your friend 😊

Drawing this to the show - tbh, if the current incident makes Dev decide that he is his Mom's Son and he will worship her all his life to the exclusion of everything or anyone, that's his choice. Then he should have the courage to live with it with pleasure and not pain...
Worst is to know who you are but still want to be someone else...

@Bookworm123 & @gemini54 - what fantastic discussion...!

Adding my 2 cents from a different angle - normally TV shows introduce characters or the starting idea of a show in their launch promos. But this one decided to introduce the show highlighting the midpoint of the story. The usual way would be to introduce the 3 characters and leave us with anticipation about 'what will happen when they come together'... but they decided to tell us that these are 3 different characters, they come together, fall in love and decide to part because mom is unhappy...

I feel they knew their journey till this point clearly. But something changed midway (maybe trp pressure, don't know). They have arrived at their destination but instead of 2 mature adults in love managing the situation, we now have 2 people so broken & shattered and the third facing demons of her own that are clearly out in the open...
At this point, there is no way they can (or should) go back to the original promos but do hope they have written a new story from here forward.

After being walked over so badly & throwing Dev's words back at him (today) and walking off with a firm Goodbye, how will Sonakshi calmly support him in his mommy issues?
After so badly breaking her heart and throwing her out, how will Dev expect her mature support?

Just repeating what I said in another reply - 'With the way the characters are throwing reality at each other, the makers are not trying to justify or sugar coat the situation so this gives me hope that they know that after reaching this stage, they can't revert to the original promos'. I do hope they have written a fresh new story arc...

In this whole fiasco, Sona would be the most impacted person. For Dev, his sacrifice would mean, he still has his mother. He would be totally lost without his mother. There is no way he could have chosen Sona above his mother unless he had witnessed Ishwari being totally nonobjective towards Sona, which he didn't. In a way, his conscious is clear.

Coming to Sona, she is the one most impacted and the one who would raise up from the ashes like a phoenix. The stronger one among the 3 because of her upbringing, her self worth, her fantastic family and mostly because she needs to overcome this for herself and her family.

Now, the interesting part would be, how the 3 characters are going to reconcile. If I'm Ishwari, I might be happy now that my son has chosen me above his love but in future his sacrifice would eat me up alive. Blatantly ignoring Dev's sacrifice and his sorrow is not going to be conducive for the mom-son relationship...

So well put... agree with you...

Ishwari - I don't think Dev will tell her the reason for his break-up. He might just say he took the decision, that it. So the guilt will not be on mommy dearest. Maybe that's why, again bringing out her wonderful side, she will look for a prospective groom for Sona showing that she is trying to help because the girl is hurt due to her Son.
Conscience clear.

Dev - He is clear that he will not let anything hurt his mother. If there was such a thing, it will be removed immediately. Will he consider his actions as sacrifice? For him, he's doing the right thing. Conscience clear.
He will feel guilty of hurting Sona but will his future pain be out of guilt or love?
Will he know the difference and face it?
and then what?

Sona - This girl saw her dream come true unexpectedly one night & saw them being snatched away, as unexpectedly, another dark night. She came into this mom-son pair, tried to fit in and was faced with a rude awakening. This woman will rise. Her family will not let her break and her strength will back her.

Question is -
These 3 are all ok in their respective places. Should they even try to come together? Do they even want to be a trio that badly? Do they need to?

Probably the answer is with that person who might have the need. Does Dev love Sonakshi enough to fight for her?

or will he only take that step once Mom sees his pain & breaks down her ego. So go after the girl with mommy's approval...! Am personally not liking this thought...

It's all uncertain & interesting from here forward...

I think YES but ATM he himself doesn't know the depth of his love for her. I think he will get some idea after their break-up.

All this guy knows is that his mom is not happy and probably tried to be but couldn't and all he heard in the hospital was his mom crying about how she is a bad mom. In his mind, his mom didn't like Sonakshi but tried her level best for his sake and finally instead of hurting him, she hurt herself - how is this guy ever going to go against this mom?

Am not sure he has it in him and the last thing I want to see is a mom's realization who then gifts her son the woman he is pining for.

If I was that woman, I would run in the opposite direction... fast

I thought with Ishwari-Mama conversation they will drop Ishwari's holy mask but looks like they have some other plan and as usual they went with their Ishwari Bhajans & Keertans. Looks like they have bigger plans for future (after seeing Ishwari's match fixing drama for Sona).

hahaha... Tell me about it. They were raining promises!
And now with the way the characters are throwing reality at each other, the makers don't seem to be justifying or sugar coating anything. It's like they planned this...
It seems to be a lesson in how not to love!
He broke his promises for his mom and she is gonna break her promises for her family. Made for each other. Any body will fall in love with a perfect person. Q is : Are they ready to love each other with their imperfections?

and what will make him realize his? According to him, he did the right thing even if its painful... What will open his eyes? Just jealousy cant be it!

Only time(Cv's) can tell us.

Happy to know that you are enjoying & making most out of your vacation. All these memories only will become our strength when we stay away from our loved ones. I can understand since almost all my life(15 yrs of study life & job life) went in hostels till i got married. I was like a guest to my house.😆

Perfectly said. She taught me that Winners find a way; Losers find a excuse. I strongly believe that nothing happens without a reason in life.

She got her peace back with a happy family & happy ending to her struggles.😊

Thanks for bringing a different perspective. I totally agree with what you have written below and hope that they start afresh with a new story line and not somehow try to mold it into the initial promos because I certainly don't want to see Sona showed understanding and resigned because after the callous way she was ditched I don't think I have the stomach for Mahaan
