There were three promos, the first promo showed a disappointed Sona not an angry Sona as we see in the segments and promo... It was more of a resigned Sona who was dissapointed in Dev's decision but not hurt and heartbroken. So I was under the impression that the creatives will show a breakup which was mutual which is not the case here so Dev's character here seems weak and really non redeemable

The second Promo showed Sona calling Easwari to inquire about her health- If we see it as Sona being a professional that is ok but her conversations with Dev still showed disappointment and not hurt.

The third promo showed Dev coming to see her and they talking about memories and being cordial but resigned to their fate... so my question is how after the callous breakup by Dev which was nothing but mutual any self respecting woman would forgive ...I know in Love we do forgive but here the very basis of trust seemed to have broken and all promises made by Dev seems empty so how can there be cordiality? and how can we ever justify Sona going back to him. As a woman this is what I am having difficulty coming to terms with.

Thanks again everyone for aiding a very healthy discussion really appreciate it

I completely agree with you. I was trying to be lazy and tricked you into articulating what was bothering me. You did it very very well. 😊.

I really wonder how we will get to that point on the show after what has happened. After what Sona has been through does she not deserve a Dev who actually works on their relationship? Will she only need to settle for a long time for a Dev who manages to get her to feel for him and his mommy issues and thus gives him the pleasure of her company and counsel - because it looks like that is all he needs. So a relationship with no perks for her.

Is that what Sona deserves? I would not want that for any girl and certainly not if what she gets in return is the Dev of the last 25 odd episodes. I may have been persuaded by the Dev of the first 80 episodes but even that would be a stretch. If that is what the CVs want to show, it is as bad a message as showing that the way to win over a parent who emotionally blackmails you (does not need to be deliberate) is through your devotion and not by behaving like an adult and making the effort (however painstaking) to get your parents to understand what is fair for all. Not to mention honouring all the commitments made.

Can we hope that most of the phase they depict in the promos has already come to pass?

Thanks for your kind words. Your style of clear writing amazes me. You have captured all what I am feeling below. Why should a woman settle? Time and Time again our society has shown the woman as self sacrificing , adjusting and compromising and I hoped this show will show it differently that a Woman's desires and dreams also matter she is not there just to take what she is given. This is why I am dissapointed with the way this show is heading

It's a journey of the growth of all 3 characters, individually as well as together.

Sonakshi is definitely going to emerge as the strongest among the 3, that's what I feel as of now. Mostly because she has a support system backing her, something that Dev doesn't and God alone knows how he's gonna deal with his heartbreak. What with rumors of him getting drunk n al doing the rounds. Ishwari will be happy for a while before she realizes the blunder that she's made.

I just hope they show a proper redemption for both Dev and Ishwari instead of showing how mahaan sona is for taking them back. That's my only request. The other things, they're doing it right I feel. Specially after watching the segment. Good decision though, of not watching the segment. They've shown the entire climax😕😲

@Bold: Am really hoping for this and much more after watching today's episode.
Tomm. Sona will say all the things we want her to but love is not about having the last word. It takes courage and a stable mind to keep your word.

Dev's state after hearing that his mom could have had a cardiac arrest ... all because of him... was just too big for him to swallow right then but his 'kis haq se' just broke everything...

My only request to the makersnow is irrespective of the many twists & turns, other guy or whatever you have planned, please do full justice to the redemption track...!!!

Finally your post and as usual awesome and on point 👏 Coming home kind of feeling..🤗

Let me share my 2 cents in brief which i have mentioned in replies of diff posts from morning.

Promises...Easy to do & tough to stand by. Dev & Sona - Both made n number of promises to each other. Now the actual test starts for them to check where they actually stand in their relationship wrt their commitment. Looks like now both are going to break their promises and are going to see the actual strength of their relation. Very good. Now start it with a clean slate. Both are going to see the imperfections of their beloved soulmate. Now the Q is Are they still ready to love each other with their imperfections?

Even though its painful, break-up is much needed at this moment. For,

Sona - To gather herself and to learn to see her life beyond Dev and pleasing his family.
Dev - To understand his mom, to know that giving up is never a solution and to learn how to balance relations in life.
Ishwari - To learn to see beyond her ego, pride, position & own happiness.
We - a much needed break from Ishwari ji's emotional athyachar.

Surely the upcoming break-up decision is a big boost for her ego but her ego is like monster which expects constant feeding from Dev. Immediately after break-up Dev may wear a brave mask to make her happy but soon he will break in to pieces bit by bit and loose himself in pain.
I feel only his PAIN can make her THINK about her mistakes because ATM she is just full of herself.

🤗 Thank you. You are awesome.
Last few episodes were plain distressing so I couldn't get myself to make a post...😃
But now we have reached the end of one phase & the start of another so had to review the journey...

Finally, today an episode that I re-watched. Starting with 'hamare beech mein ab koi nahi aa sakta' & 'will be with you forever' and ending with 'hamein alag ho jana chahiye'... I think my expressions mimicked Sonakshi's when Dev said this...
We all know this was going to happen but have to hand it to the actors for delivering fantastically...

The guy was in shock after hearing that his mother could have had a cardiac arrest because she is not happy with Sonakshi... He is not processing anything else... and he went into his usual Problem-Solution mode.
Doesn't like Sonakshi - Sonakshi out.
When mom gets out of the hospital & all is well, these same words will come back to bite him...

Ishwari - I have no words for her but I loved my mom's reaction. All she could see was the Son crying and was so angry. Kept repeating, "what kind of pyar! made her Son cry so much. she used to say, should not hold tight and tree should give shade etc etc...see how badly he is crying"
That was reaction enough 😃😃

Sonakshi - Always felt to me that this woman is living in uncertainty & fear from the start. It was like an invisible 'he loves me, he loves me not' going on in her head... and this made her continually try to reach beyond her comfort zone...
Now she finally gets to hear the dreaded words...

Dev's first reaction was to break off. (He said he will always be with her)
Sonakshi's first reaction (tomm) will be to scream her hurt (rightfully) and walk off. (She said she will always be with him even if he walks away)...
They both need some time to calm down first and process everything... She is going to scream some more & he is going to pine for her...

There's quite a distance these 2 need to travel to understand themselves to know what promises they are capable of keeping or if they even want to. These are not just words.

Ishwari - As no one is going to take her to therapy, she needs a harsh reality check. Am not sure how this will happen with everyone feeding her ego.
Dev is going to break but am not even sure if she will really see Dev's pain!
Only if he learns to stand up for himself...but that might be too much to ask given he will always be worried she will overdose if he cuts the umbilical cord...

Just don't give us a moping Devdas... that would be worse than mommy's atyachar 😃

Anyway not much hopes left for Ishwari... So will go with the game the CVs might try to get her back...😉
Never had any expectations from Dev😊... So let him do whatever he wants to do - with his mom or with himself...😃

I just want to see Sonakshi doing good for herself in all this... Getting to see back my girl...🤗
Whether she finds herself back or creates herself newly, all over again... Something gotta be done... Want to see her clothed in strength and dignity👏... Smiling and Laughing without the fear of her future... 👍🏼

Let her live in the moment because...
she has someone to love - A family!🤗
she has some place to go back - A home!
And with both these lovely things, she's the blessed one!!!❤️

Let her blessings be all cherished and celebrated by her...⭐️⭐️

Ah! exactly... 😃
She is surrounded by goodwill & support. She only just needs to look around and count her blessings...

Come to think of it, it's just been a month since Dev confessed. In this small little time, they made huge tall promises to each other, she tried to fit in with him/his family, got insulted plenty, mommy's drama and lots of coffee...
Whirlwind romance got a new definition... but minus the passion...

Everyone just needs to take a step back, breathe, see where they stand and if they even have the capacity to love or even want to be in love (with this person or any other) and then act one step at a time... This was all just too much too soon...

I have no doubts about Sonakshi. She will emerge strong with the support system she has...
Dev & Ishwari & the Dixit household really need to figure themselves out before bringing anyone else in their equation...

As usual lovely post. I like how you do not focus on critiquing an episode but focus on the story arc.

Thank you. 😊
Each episode captures a moment in time and plays with moments too...As for a sequence, it sometimes even moves to the next few episodes and short 22mins don't give me the full view of what they are trying to show. I am more interested in the story, characterization and where they seem to be taking it...

When mom gets out of the hospital & all is well, these same words will come back to bite him...
I still remember Shaheer's words from one of his initial press meet audio clip. A reporter asked him "You said Dev doesn't love his mom, He does pooja of his mom & he is a devotee of his mom. What is this means, Can you elaborate?" He said " Dev is the kind of a guy who doesn't think for a sec before removing and throwing away anything from his life if he thinks that its hurting his mom. When it comes to his moms happiness he doesn't think about right or wrong?". I think he is the only one who is still in his character from day one. Nothing brought change in him even now in this aspect, Not even his LOVE but his PAIN will change him for sure now.

Ishwari - I have no words for her but I loved my mom's reaction. All she could see was the Son crying and was so angry. Kept repeating, "what kind of pyar! made her Son cry so much. she used to say, should not hold tight and tree should give shade etc etc...see how badly he is crying"
That was reaction enough 😃😃 Moms are always amazing(Ishwari ji is a rare exceptional case)😆

Sonakshi - Always felt to me that this woman is living in uncertainty & fear from the start. It was like an invisible 'he loves me, he loves me not' going on in her head... and this made her continually try to reach beyond her comfort zone...

@Bold : You are absolutely right. Loving someone and receiving the same from that person is very special & beautiful thing in life but that doesn't mean that you loose your identity in that process.

When its coming to breaking promises, both are going to maintain equal score by competing with each other. Made for each other. When ever i saw them doing promises to each other, I use to think like Arey..Bas karo yaar...You guys are competing with our politicians in throwing promises.😆

There's quite a distance these 2 need to travel to understand themselves to know what promises they are capable of keeping or if they even want to. These are not just words.
So true. Falling in love is very easy but staying in love is equally tough.

With this pills drama, she already left a permanent scar on his soul which i dont think even she can heal in future. Now this guy will never share his true emotions with her and will Q million times before even thinking about his happiness in future and gonna shut himself completely.
I always think that only dev's PAIN can open her EYES but she is so full of herself and on top that the never ending bhajan's in Iswari niwas will never allow her to see the reality. Even i am eagerly waiting to see what will make her realize her mistakes?

Just don't give us a moping Devdas... that would be worse than mommy's atyachar 😃 Yes pls.😃

Will share one real life story which i saw before my eyes. Will try to put it briefly in a separate reply. Hope you are having great time at home since you said its your last week of ur vacation. 😊

Well said...
All 3 have their reasoning, insecurities and demons to work it out. None of them are actually bad person. However, all 3 have been shown as being comfortable in their skin, proud of their achievements, are able to advise others but when it comes to themselves, everything shatters...

In this whole fiasco, Sona would be the most impacted person. For Dev, his sacrifice would mean, he still has his mother. He would be totally lost without his mother. There is no way he could have chosen Sona above his mother unless he had witnessed Ishwari being totally nonobjective towards Sona, which he didn't. In a way, his conscious is clear.

Coming to Sona, she is the one most impacted and the one who would raise up from the ashes like a phoenix. The stronger one among the 3 because of her upbringing, her self worth, her fantastic family and mostly because she needs to overcome this for herself and her family.

Now, the interesting part would be, how the 3 characters are going to reconcile. If I'm Ishwari, I might be happy now that my son has chosen me above his love but in future his sacrifice would eat me up alive. Blatantly ignoring Dev's sacrifice and his sorrow is not going to be conducive for the mom-son relationship...
