I wanted to write this back last time when Sona was defending Ranveer over Neha.
Few points.

1) Neha is as good as a parent in the Dixit family. To the people who want to call Neha a parasite, tell me the day when the family do not constantly acknowledge her role in the family being what it is today. She had to be sacrificed to give Dev the best education, and she brought up the two girls who got their education.

If Neha doesn't have a right to the family's (Dev's) wealth, then fine say it straight out. That Neha is on her own.

But the family and show are both hypocritical by simultaneously praising Neha as a backbone and as an elder, and then treating her as some spoiled daughter.

She has a right to the wealth. She most likely has her share of the wealth, and if she doesn't, she SHOULD.

The hypocritical and chauvinist thoughts the show and people put forth are ridiculous.

One the one hand, Sona will enjoy the rich life when she gets married. Not only that, the people who criticize Neha and Sona herself would agree for the right of a woman to work after marriage, and would think less of a man who wouldn't 'allow' this.

Yet, they want to take away from Neha the rightful share of wealth she has from her family.

What Sona has in her career and job, is what Neha has from background and the money she has a RIGHT to. (If she doesn't have a right, then have the guts by the family and the show to cut her off.) Instead we are shown as Dev having control of everything, and the guy who was going to give a good percentage of his company along with money to Sameer, doesn't have any kind of bank account or Trust fund set up for Neha? Okay, Neha was at first not educated enough to handle it all ..but she is learning and is smart enough and has learned English enough. Give her her rightful 'hissa.'

Such a hypocritical society.

Dowry initially was said to be for the bride's security. Even today there are some cultures which practice somewhat like dowry where the bride is sent with things needed for married life. In India it is rightfully an illegal practice due to what the practice is in the society.

However, the illegality of dowry DOES NOT mean that the bride shouldn't or doesn't have the right to bring in her own wealth and riches with her.

People acting as if Neha has no right to these things are no better and placing women in boxes and in subservient roles. They go to their husband's place and must abide by those rules. Forget if they are well off or have their own abilities and riches, but no...adjust to husband's poor lifestyle and the girl cannot do anything to try to make it better.

Then those same people look upon men and families who don't want girls to work as backwards. What is the difference between the two? Sona has a career due to her family paying for her education and her studying and putting work in. Neha has a right to her family's money due to her work and sacrifices she has made.

Let this show end with Dev losing or giving up all his wealth and being a pauper, not able to get beyond a small-time job and Dev and Sona and Ishwari living on Sona's nutritionist salary. XD (His sisters will be married off. So no need to worry about them.)

Then, and only then Sona and the show can lecture and try to make some kind of 'point-to-be-made' about Neha's 'selfishness'.

She is a very typical girl and there are far too many of her kind in this world. and there are far too many boys of her kind in this world too.. like Vicky. both feel a sense of entitlement cause they resent others😲 but don't want to lift a finger to get the luxuries they desire.. fast money on easy track😉

Sona is a smart, independent, caring, strong girl. she is someone who now considers Dev her partner, as evidenced by their bond, their love, their relationship growth shown in the serial. It's Dev who has given her these rights through their friendship, bonding and love. She cares for people who matter to him. That's all! She is not "too good to be true" either. Girls like her exist too. And I really don't think... she is trying to save a few Rs. of her would be husband. Sona has not been shown to be a gold digger by any means.

Sona is smart and independant. Neha should be too. Sona can be the "beacon of light" to Neha to encourage her to work and earn money for her own comforts. Rather than stopping presents.

Neha is spoilt rich etc made out to be by cvs who stereotype every character as they wish. She need not be. There are so many who are not so under the circustances. I also say Neha has no right over Dev's money. But the way they make Neha out to be is not right. If she is so spoilt why did she marry Ranbeer the poor guy?

They are "cutting her to size" just to show Sona as the do gooder. I am talking about how the characters are "painted" there are not so many like Neha in the world. If your parents are rich then there are. Not fatherless girls who live off their bhaiyyas before marriage. I don't think so.

@pyaaribehna... u missed the episodes where bhabhi and mom asked Ranveer to get another place.. cause Neha is making an adjustment to move in with them. there is no room here for her and she won't be comfortable as she is not used to living in a small space. you are talking "general" and "societal" that happens way too much in the real world. but in the show.. they have actually tackled this issues by, on two different scenes, it was shown Ranveer's family caring about Neha enuff to think of her needs. As for Ranveer.. he is not selfish.. he is a self respecting man which is the type of person Neha fell in love with. And Neha on the other hand.. has zero self respect😡

So you are saying if girl leaving her house boy should do that same. So marriage is like give and take. if i am doing it you should do it. in that case don't change from miss to mrs as buys don't change from mr to mrs. when whole world trying to support join family you are says they should separate from his family just because she is not liking it? she should think before she say yes to ranvir. Ranvir never force her or fack her before propose and even took her to his place before he say I love you to her. now why this nakhra

I disagree... plenty of girls like both Neha and Sona in this world. yes, they have been painted such by CVs cause characters like them exist in this world. the show has flaws but, at least, the characters, in my POV... are more real than any other show I've seen in recent times.

For that matter.. moms like Ishwari exist too. and sons like Dev too... he is sooo much in love with his new love that he has forgotten the bond he shared with mommy. and mommy is just tooo needy to see what her son is feeling.

I agree with everything you said but for the above sentence.

From the very beginning, she has been dispensing advice at the drop of a hat to Dev and anyone. She has absolutely no flaws. Ishwari, Dev, Neha, Ranveer, Nikki, Dada, Mr. Bose even mami and Vicky have potential to grow. Sona doesnt.

Lets not talk about the Bose Household. Neither the father nor the brother are fully matured ( one cant hold a job to save his life and the other is a narrow minded person who cant see his son selling undergarments) so its not like she came from a fully functional/matured family either but somehow she is a fully matured, intelligent, independant smart woman who single highhandedly took care of her household finances for some time. In short a Mary Sue.

So she IS too good to be true.

can't stand the father and brother.. Sona.. herself has acknowledged to Dev, in a scene, a while back... about how crazy/disfunctional their families are.. and them two too.. but she still loves it all.

I didn't say she is flawless.. the way she has been shown.. there are girls like that.

she is not perfect and that's why meddles a lot in Dev family.. and not just now (that Dev has given her rights) but from beginning. CVs have shown that in a humorous manner. when she was asking Elena about how shaadi went.. all was ok and all. elena made fun of her... are you their bahu or something? that was funny and showed her meddling side. I agree on that.

Neha should have her own funds.
Whatever Dev was willing to give Sameer, should be given to Neha. This show and people acting in the same chauvinist manner. Neha is now a rich girl from a rich business family in Delhi. In actuality, rich girls from rich, upper-class families in cities like Delhi-- whether they work or not--will have some kind of trust fund associated to THEIR name. Yet, in this show we see Dev offer Sameer a good deal of money and a good stake percentage of his company. If Dev can offer that much to Sameer, that means that much is actually something Dev should give Neha as her rightful share of the wealth in the family.

Let her manage the money however she wants. If she blows it, then it's on her. If she makes use of it well and uses it wisely and maybe also further her education and invest in some small business, or whether she wants to live off the dividends of that money by trying to maker her lifestlye in Ranveer's house a better one, that's her choice.

People acting like Sona and Neha are in the same boat and Sona should encourage Neha to work and have a job. Guess what what is the use of that money? Working and career is identity and income. Same way Sona has her identity as a doctor, Neha's identity is also the money that she HAS. Sona works after marriage, what will that money go towards, it's her choice and right, no? Same way, it's Neha's choice to decide how she can spend the money that she has a right to.

If she's smart, she will use it wisely and educate herself and try to bring in more income as well.

Or she can blow all that money, and then the family can go tough on her. But don't act like she doesn't have the right to spend her money. And also that Sona's career is anything like Neha not having a job or career. Sona had access to education which Neha never had.

According to me,Neha knew Ranveer's situation and its not like she is forced to marry him.She chose to marry him knowing all his situation and his self respect and everything.
Now the question is should she take help from his brother to gather all the comfort she is used to? So my answer here will be No! Not because Ranveer does not like it but because she herself should not like it.Where is her own self-respect?
If she really wants all the comfort then work towards it herself. C'mon do a job and earn herself and if she is not qualified enough (as her educational qualifications are not clear in the show) she could at least help Ranveer to work hard and earn all she needs.
Ranveer does not have any magical wand that he will buy everything in one night. She has to give him some time as it was her choice to marry Ranveer knowing his financial condition ,she has to prove her own choice right!
We can blame Ranveer when he does not work hard and does not take opportunities to grow or ignore her problems. As of now its too early to say anything regarding this.

So in this way What shona is saying is correct according to me.
Dev can gift her whatever he wants, but she asking Dev each and everything is not correct for her own self-respect.
This is my POV.
