I don't think they've butchered her character that much, she's still the same confident girl the show started with.😊

I know the past few epis have shown her crying a lot, but that was only because she loved someone and she thought that her feeling weren't reciprocated. She was just heartbroken. Being a self respecting and confident nutritionist has nothing to do with that. 😉

About her getting ready to meet Dev every morning, well they are still in the puppy dog romance phase, its only been 2-3 days since the confession. So I guess the CVs are focusing more on the romance. I too personally don't like too much romance, I just cant handle it...lolzz 😆😆. But its ok, I can always switch off channels when that happens, so thats entirely a personal choice.

Other than that I guess the show is going fine!!

Topic maker! You stole the words out of my mouth!

Sometimes I wonder whether it's really hard for an Indian serial to maintain a character after they fall in love? I mean isn't the underlying point that you fall in love with your original characteristics/traits intact? I rmbr watching the first week of the episodes and I loved the authority in Sonakshi's character! It was a treat to watch in all honesty! Also I don't think she has to know how to cook in order to be a nutritionist! There job is to truly just make charts and study properties of food. Nothing more really..

Coming to the immaturity displayed by Sonakshi's character! I agree, there really were moments where I was like "stop grab a hold of yourself. Go out and find a new job and move on" bcos in reality, one sided love stories do happen, you don't see majority of people mopping around and crying till 3am in the morning. One day, maybe two, by the third night you will be fine. Chill. I agree didn't appreciate the whole "my first love story ended without starting" phase, mainly bcos I truly think love isnt handled well in Indian tv shows (bcos what they feel isn't love and is infatuation. And yep I am a very critical person in life 🤪). She needs to move out of the Ishwari mansion and find a new job. It's high time that she left the place for at least her own satisfaction (bcos I rmbr an epi where she was talking to her dad about how much she loves her job).

Coming to her acting, she is not too bad in my opinion. It's more the dialogues and plot line that lets Erica down! But I am crossing my fingers (and toes) that the original headstrong, confident and disciplined Sona stands up soon... I truly do believe that Neha has more substance than Sonakshi, but I also believe Neha probably has the best character on the show. Ishwari er meh, it's kind of an periodical cycle that she wants to break and intervene on. I truly believe the CVs have done an amazing job when penning down Neha's character, it's very hard hitting and no matter how bitter she is in the show, she will always make my heart break at her complexity.

Coming to butchering of a character, Dev and Sona have both been butchered. No one in this world with a business to run like dev, ignores their commitments like he does. It's just random to see how a change like that occurs in one night? Already talked about Sona's butchering, Neha too to an extent really (fine line btwn manipulation and bitterness). I don't know why Indian tv serials think making a character fall in love, changes their attitudes and outlook towards life? It's a bit of a "W*F" in my opinion

(Highly controversial point here, please don't bash me.. I actually really liked the confession at a superficial glance, I truly did. Then it set in and one line. One part of the confession really irked me, maybe bcos it's wasn't a very well phrased statement, yet a lot of people seemed to have been appreciating it. Meep, I am just very critical in life and the statement was this "I love you like a man loves a woman." Bro what about a woman loving a woman, a man loving a man, a transgender loving their partner? No? At a superficial level I fangirled and hyperventilated. When it set in, I was majority disappointed. It's not like India has no LGBT community, it was just a very regressive statement in my eyes esp since this Ep aired like a couple of days after the Orlando massacre. And what really irked me was that Durjoy Dutta wrote the confession, I thought the dude was in with the times. Clearly not. Just my opinion on the confession scene, I expected more bcos this show has preached realism since it started. That notion is also dwindling. Peace)

Thank you !

Yes I agree to what you have mentioned. One doesn't cry over not getting someone's love for like over a month. A day or two and you become fine. It wasn't a case that they were in a relationship hence it took time for Sona to come to terms with the fact that he was getting married. It got a little repetitive and boring to see her cry. All I wanted to tell her was to get going with her life !!

Dev. I really really don't think you can make your clients wait so much just because you have fallen in love. Even if you are in love, you are still in your senses. Work is still part of your life, and I really don't think one neglects it. Infact, I say this from my personal experience too.

Neha. My goodness that girl. No matter how she is, how complicated or how bitter she is, I still love her. She has a golden heart, but it's just covered with so many complexes and insecurities that no one can really understand her superficially. She is not the rude, bitter person that she seems to be. She is so much more than that. She has to simply settle in and develop, develop and grow as a person. The situations she has faces has made her so, and also made her mom think of her in a different way, and her Mami take advantage of her weaknesses and complexes. She just hasn't yet found the right soil to nourish her and grow. But when she will. It shall be beautiful to watch.

Sonakshi's character has really gone down after falling in love. This is a message to audience? Women how so ever smart they are become coy over romantic non ambitious girls once in love 😭

But I strongly disagree about erica. She has improved a LOT frm first episode i feel.hercrying weepy days were repititive but she acted well. Shaheer to kamal ka hai hi erica bhi aajkal barabar takkar deti hai 👏 its thescript which has problem

Couldn't agree more with you!!

What a relief to see some one genuinely put forth the lapses in the show especially Sonakshi's Charecter and Erica's pathetic acting. Thank God you felt the same like I did. Yes. Sonakshi's Charecter has been butchered and how? I think even Natasha's Charecter has some integrity as she always is shown serious about her work though she is in love with Dev. And Dr Sonakshi Bose must have forgotten she has a great career sorry she used to have. Now all she does is what you explained in your post. I need not say anything more. Thank you for being genuine and straight while posting your views. Thank you very much.

Yeay !! Glad someone agreed to my POV ! Yes, I can agree with you on Natasha. She too was so composed and focused even if she were in love with Dev. She didn't make a big fuss about it either. Most of us here did not like her as she was coming in the way of Dev and Sona, but if you actually just take a look at her keeping aside all other complications, then she was a great girl !

Natasha is dignified composed and classy. I liked the actress so much. She understood the Charecter and performed just perfectly. Her dialogue delivery enhanced her performance.

@Sindhu_18 : I hav been watching this soap since the 1st episode and am happy with the story shaping up. Each character has been given its due. I don't agree with you that the character of Sonakshi has been butchered.

As the title suggests, its different shades of love that's being highlighted here. A man and woman, a mother, a sister, a brother, a father, a grandmother, a friend and a cousin. And in two different communities, While Dev's family hav their own past to deal with and are now openly showing love for each other, Sonakshi's family is more carefree and happy since the beginning.

The lead actors roles are also moving accordingly. The story is now grabbing eyeballs as the leads are finally in love. There is a scene where Sonakshi is unmoved by Mamiji;s comment that she is being paid for nothing. Because now she is a confident woman who has a man in her life, someone she has loved unconditionally. Earlier, she used to cry and feel sad when Mamiji passed such remarks!!!! 😃Now, isn't that a remarkable difference?

Sonakshi's character is likely to gain more prominence when Ishwari finds out the truth and may feel cheated. How her patient and caring nature wins over Ishwari could form the crux of the remaining storyline. Her confidence and daring nature would also come through in exposing Mamiji's son!!! 😃

So, lets wait and watch.

Either the CV's could not handle showing Sonakshi's reaction or their complete concentration has shifted to Mother-Son as per the plot.
I felt Sonakshi real thanda after the confession. Her feisty-ness is lost. The entire track is about Dev's reaction. Neha's character seems to be having more depth than Sonakshi. Her character did not change at all.
I felt as if Sonakshi's character depth is no longer important for the show, they just want Dev and Ishwari's character to develop.

We should give the show more time to explore all scenarios too.

yeah nowadays (after falling in love) they are messing up everything, the show is loosing sense.
I agree that love has its own impact in your life but the effect is not that extreme as it is shown in the serial.😲

dev is almost paying all his attention to sona , what about his business?
even sonakshi needs to go back to hospital and act like a proper doctor ! i wonder what she does the whole day in dev's house, what is she being paid for? all she does is asking kichu bhaiya to follow the diet chart she prepares. they should show her to be a hardworking and understanding woman. Dev's secretary Tina looks more perfect for him and even Natasha seemed to be way more better .

who else thinks that the performance of the whole Bose family is annoying?...each of them over react! YES, including sonakshi😲. On the other hand the Dixit family is acting too well, each member fits in their character 👏 they make the show look realistic.
