Quite normal for any girl.

Again Peace.😆

But yes the Sona we saw in initial promos will be portrayed once Ishwari track starts. Have faith.😳

Hope to see that Sona soon. She was such a composed and deep character. I do understand that she is in love.. but let's just hope for the best. And I hope to see the story move forward.

I agree with some points and some points I do not agree with.
Initially Sonakshi's characters had strength, it seemed like a strong role. A girl who had dreams and was independent. I agree that after the accident track, and since her feelings for Dev emerged, there is no strength in her character. Her character has become very one dimensional and her story arc since then has just been about her feelings for Dev. So although I am enjoying the whole romance track, I do get what you mean. Its irritating to see become this typical girl whose life revolves around the man in her life but at the same time, no matter how much girls hide it , we all want a guy who loves unconditionally. We can be all for women empowerment and not needing a guy thats great, but I think every girls wants a guy and enjoy that fairy tale romance and I guess thats all Sona is doing.

Also, the weak characterisation can be blames on the current track. Romantic track makes both leads seem one dimensional with no depth. When the actual track of the story start, I am sure that Sonakshi's character will develop depth.

TotallY agree that Bose family is just plain irritating and there is no need for them. Unlike Dixit family where each and every member plays a crucial role.

And I have to completely disagree that Erica is a bad actress. She has improved so much and she is doing a wonderful job with the character. The current track is about Dev and the changes Sonakshi is brining in his life so I feel that there is not much scope for acting for Erica right now as she just needs to be the cause of that chance. Actual change is happening to Dev, so right now all acting load is on Shaheer. However, when the accident track happened followed by Sonakshi realisation and heartbreak, I think Erica did a fantastic job. Those crying scenes were really well done by her. And also she brings this innocence and girlish quality to Sonakshi which is very important for the current track. She is doing a very good job, she might not be the best but she has improved so much. There are so much more worse actresses in Bollywood than her. She is playing a role of girl in love which many actresses in bollywood have done earlier but Erica makes it look so fresh and convincing.

Also as for Elena, with her character the question is not who is she is playing but why she is there? Although she is very one dimensional character, she has an important role. She is Sona's best friend, who Sona's confides in so instead of us getting long pointless monologues, Elena is there for Sonakshi to voice out her thoughts. So not only her character feels better after sharing but also we as audiences get to know Sona's feelings. Also her character makes Sona's reactions veery realistic as we girls always have that one girl friend with who we share our boy problems with so Elena plays that role. She plays the role of best friends in girls life who is falling in love. In reality whenever girls have a crush they share with thier girl friends just like that Sona shares with Elena. This gives the show a touch of reality which is what the show always tries to do.

Really glad someone brought this up. I hope the future of this show holds some substance for Sonakshi's character. The Elena-Sona dynamic got boring after like 3 episodes. I kinda want Sona to bring this up with Dev. That she feels her job at their house is done and she wants to go back to working in a hospital and not a kitchen.

Topic maker! You stole the words out of my mouth!

Sometimes I wonder whether it's really hard for an Indian serial to maintain a character after they fall in love? I mean isn't the underlying point that you fall in love with your original characteristics/traits intact? I rmbr watching the first week of the episodes and I loved the authority in Sonakshi's character! It was a treat to watch in all honesty! Also I don't think she has to know how to cook in order to be a nutritionist! There job is to truly just make charts and study properties of food. Nothing more really..

Coming to the immaturity displayed by Sonakshi's character! I agree, there really were moments where I was like "stop grab a hold of yourself. Go out and find a new job and move on" bcos in reality, one sided love stories do happen, you don't see majority of people mopping around and crying till 3am in the morning. One day, maybe two, by the third night you will be fine. Chill. I agree didn't appreciate the whole "my first love story ended without starting" phase, mainly bcos I truly think love isnt handled well in Indian tv shows (bcos what they feel isn't love and is infatuation. And yep I am a very critical person in life 🤪). She needs to move out of the Ishwari mansion and find a new job. It's high time that she left the place for at least her own satisfaction (bcos I rmbr an epi where she was talking to her dad about how much she loves her job).

Coming to her acting, she is not too bad in my opinion. It's more the dialogues and plot line that lets Erica down! But I am crossing my fingers (and toes) that the original headstrong, confident and disciplined Sona stands up soon... I truly do believe that Neha has more substance than Sonakshi, but I also believe Neha probably has the best character on the show. Ishwari er meh, it's kind of an periodical cycle that she wants to break and intervene on. I truly believe the CVs have done an amazing job when penning down Neha's character, it's very hard hitting and no matter how bitter she is in the show, she will always make my heart break at her complexity.

Coming to butchering of a character, Dev and Sona have both been butchered. No one in this world with a business to run like dev, ignores their commitments like he does. It's just random to see how a change like that occurs in one night? Already talked about Sona's butchering, Neha too to an extent really (fine line btwn manipulation and bitterness). I don't know why Indian tv serials think making a character fall in love, changes their attitudes and outlook towards life? It's a bit of a "W*F" in my opinion

(Highly controversial point here, please don't bash me.. I actually really liked the confession at a superficial glance, I truly did. Then it set in and one line. One part of the confession really irked me, maybe bcos it's wasn't a very well phrased statement, yet a lot of people seemed to have been appreciating it. Meep, I am just very critical in life and the statement was this "I love you like a man loves a woman." Bro what about a woman loving a woman, a man loving a man, a transgender loving their partner? No? At a superficial level I fangirled and hyperventilated. When it set in, I was majority disappointed. It's not like India has no LGBT community, it was just a very regressive statement in my eyes esp since this Ep aired like a couple of days after the Orlando massacre. And what really irked me was that Durjoy Dutta wrote the confession, I thought the dude was in with the times. Clearly not. Just my opinion on the confession scene, I expected more bcos this show has preached realism since it started. That notion is also dwindling. Peace)

Dr. Bose, Dr. Sonakshi Bose is a nutritionist. They shaped up her character really well, someone who has a good amount of self confidence and self respect.

But it seed rather too stupid to be full time nutritionist at Dev's house. I mean, what was her job ? Make diet charts, direct Kichu bhaiyya and make Ishwari eat food ? Is that it ? To me, it seemed like the writers wanted to create some relation between the mother, the girl and the boy and they couldn't think of any other way out. I mean seriously, what is she doing at Dev's house from morning to evening? And to top it all, she is a nutritionist who doesn't even know to cook. And nowadays Ishwari is also following her diet chart, so there is really, really no need for her to be there 24X7.

There was some depth in her character before the accident sequence. But after that, and also with the entry of Elena the writers just began butchering her character. They just take it a bit too far. Dreaming, was fine. But over dreaming and thinking of him too much and the constant lecturing of Elena was irritating. And not to mention Erica's pathetic acting. The incessant crying was a pain in the eyes to watch.

There is no matter and depth left to Erica's character Sonakshi. She simply looks like a doll, who gets ready in the morning to meet Dev at his house. She basically has no aim in her life.

Kuch Rang, is a good watch, but there are a thousand cons as well. But I would like to appreciate its music. It's simply superb. It's awesome. Every time, every little piece of music, every song is beautiful. Dev has a great character depth. Shaheer acts really well. He emotes well. Supriya Pilgaonkar as Ishwari is amazing ! She knows to act. Actually even Neha has matter and depth in her character. The Dixit family is good to watch. They have substance.

While on the other hand, the Bose family is far from irritating. I just don't understand their presence. What are they up to? The episode doesn't really need them. They are just fillers these days. But before the accident, the Bose family was truly adorable.

Dev on one hand seems so mature and understanding, while Sonakshi is really just a doll. I agree the proposal scene was good. A treat to watch. Then a few scenes here and there. But I don't understand Sonakshi anymore. Her character is not worth a lead. Neha is way better than her. Comparing with Shaheer, I am really sorry but I dont think Erica is acting well these days. It's not cute anymore. It's irritating. Sonakshi, what is Sonakshi anymore ? Her character has not shaped up well. It's not a treat to watch anymore, a girl who basically does no work at all but still is at the Dixit household for namesake. I think they should probably show Ranveer and Neha more. They have some good story. And oh did I forget Tina. She's such an angel ! She has better characterisation than Sonakshi Bose.

I am sorry if anyone gets offended. I am sure many will, cause everyone is loving the new romance. But I really feel they aren't showing any depth in the script anymore, atleast with the entire Bose family.

Please feel free to comment. I would love to know your opinions too.

Love,
Sindhu

Well I agree with most of ur points, from a strong independent confident career woman she has become a weepy dreamer.she's always hanging out at devs house with the intention of catchjng romantic moments. Sonakshi's character has really gone down after falling in love. This is a message to audience? Women how so ever smart they are become coy over romantic non ambitious girls once in love 😭

But I strongly disagree about erica. She has improved a LOT frm first episode i feel.hercrying weepy days were repititive but she acted well. Shaheer to kamal ka hai hi erica bhi aajkal barabar takkar deti hai 👏 its thescript which has problem

What a relief to see some one genuinely put forth the lapses in the show especially Sonakshi's Charecter and Erica's pathetic acting. Thank God you felt the same like I did. Yes. Sonakshi's Charecter has been butchered and how? I think even Natasha's Charecter has some integrity as she always is shown serious about her work though she is in love with Dev. And Dr Sonakshi Bose must have forgotten she has a great career sorry she used to have. Now all she does is what you explained in your post. I need not say anything more. Thank you for being genuine and straight while posting your views. Thank you very much.

I have to disagree with the author of this topic...and the writers of this show have studied human behavior... Sona started of like every independent woman, she studied hard and became the best in her field...and she was proud of that...she had her opinions and stood by it but when Mr handsome hunk mother fell ill he wanted the best for her and he went after sona...if you remember in earlier episodes he blocked her from all other job offers and interviews...it was the heart to heart talk with my favourite character her father that made her take the job...
It is true that in life you have choices but sometimes these same choices can back u in a corner and the outcome can do more harm than good... She took the job as and end to a mean...she had no high expectations from dev her only goal was to complete the contract and move on...what she did not bargain for was seeing the different shades of dev..and in seeing those shades she began to understand him...and feel in love with him...love makes the strongest individuals weak whether man or woman...and the writers understood this the best...love makes you do silly things and things that are out of ur character...and that has happened to her...the character is not butchered...it presents the side of this strong person coming out of character because they are in love...for those who have experience true love they are the ones who will understand what happened to these to individuals... As for Erica's acting I find nothing wrong with it...she is in character of sona...she nails it all the time...her acting is not dramatised it flows as if Erica and sons is the same...she is good in comparison to what Hindi drama dishes out these days...as for the Bose family they are a breath of fresh air and a very loving family... I always look forward to there scenes...it was not the typical Indian family stereotype... I love sona father and the relationship he has with his wife...love breaks u and molds you into someone beautiful... And makes u a better person...and being an independent woman does not mean u cannot falter... It is rise after the fall makes you stronger...and yes independent self respecting women do fall in love...and do things out of the norm...

Sona had confidence and attitude before the accident now she seems to have lost all that and I'm hoping she gains her confidence back
what I actually like about Sona is the very fact that she is real this is exactly how most girls would react
but I also think she will evolve more in future

Agree to your point about Sona's profession. Makers just wanted to show regular Dev Sona and Ishwari interaction so Sona's profession went down the drain. Atleast they shud show that she is seeing other patients, doing some consultation post working hours at Dev's house, connect with doctors. I was really angry with the writers when she went back to work just bcoz Dev waited 5hrs for her.
Post the accident, due to obligation that Dev helped her so much n then she fell for him, thoughts abt leaving the job has not occured to her.

Regd love part, Sona was always shown as someone who believes in love story , so when she actually fell in love she is all mushy and dreamy. This is her first love n she is having a difficult time hiding her emotions. The same is happening with Dev, he is also completely lost in love. Compared to him, Sona is looking more sensible now.

She is no doll. She is still a strong character specially in scene where she gives advise to Dev on how to manage his family, mother, personal life, love. Makers shud give some importance to her career as well.

Regd Erica, very strongly disagree wid u. Erica has shown so much improvement and is my fav character. Her acting is so natural and its easy to relate to her character. I love her in emotional scenes. She is so much btr than other actress on tv. She looks real and not made up. She should also get good and long dialogues like Dev.
