Neha had been expected to step in as substitute mother because her mother trusted only her to be able to take up that responsibility. In the process, Neha has lost out on her childhood and has distanced herself from the relationship of a mother and child. She does not want children not because she has developed a hate towards them (she loves her sisters unconditionally even now) but because that will remind her of the things her mother never did for her. She is tired of being selfless and puts in demands (AC in room etc.) only because she wants to feel like she matters in the house as well.

Cannot say that Dev is guilty for the same. He is the only one in the house who has always looked out for her even as a child. The sibling dynamics is something that I also love about the show. Ishwari has inevitably somewhere destroyed both their childhoods: Dev by putting all her expectations on the child, and Neha by putting all her responsibilities. Dev and Neha both have lost their sense of judging the world properly, Dev became all prim and proper to live up to the family name and Neha became sullen because she did lose out on the opportunities of getting a more secure future because her mother didnt consider her son old enough for marriage.

dev is not responsible. but look at the way he acknowledges Ishwari - w/o realising that is what every mother would have done, But look at neha does he acknowledge on the same plane like he does ishwari . Where as what neha has done that is not what most sisters would do.
Actually the mother son are so full of themselves neha the 3rd part who sacrificed is always left out. she is bound to feel hurt

Would love to discuss Neha and Ranveer"s dynamics.
What did he like in Neha? And do you think he is really as good n simple as he looks? Are the cvs planning a twister for us?

I agree to that. He does regard his mother over all without realizing the extent of Neha's sacrifice. He acknowledges her and feels like he needs to right the wrong but fails to see that her zidd is a result of what she is lost, her anger is not wholly unjustified.

Fristly, love the interesting points you are analyzing and questions you are raising.
He might be as simple as he looks, but might not be the ideal guy for Neha's taste for now. Remember Neha wants Dev to make him rich so that she can enjoy independence and not have to compromise for the sake of family life. He might not adjust to that thought mostly because he prides himself on being self made. He will show Neha the world she fails to accept as reality and that even though she might have not had a childhood, she cannot let her past shield her future.

Holy crap. I typed a long post that got deleted. Now I have to go. I have SO much to say, that I probably need to spend hours and I won't be done at all about this topic.
I can only say THANK YOU so much for sending me a PM.
And I really want one of your topics in the coming weeks to focus on something... I'll elaborate when I come back. Or we can explore it here.

Loads of Love
