I think it's actually interesting that we are just being shown Sona's feelings for him and his side is not developed, because that makes the show different from other love stories where conveniently the leads fall for each other at the same time only. Lol.
It is okay that one falls for the other before the other falls for the person. Feelings grow... Right now we know Sona loves him but he doesn't and I think that's perfectly fine and makes the show more realistic.

Hi friends,

So...amidst watching tonights episode I thought of something...

It makes sense for Sona to love Dev as we've seen her realize ( over the course of the show) how at first, he isn't a horrible human being ( as she had first presumed). We saw her learn about his hard lived past and his struggles and hard work. We saw her learn about his caring and giving side and what ultimately made her fall for him - we saw her see his caring side towards her ( when she got into the accident).

But...if you think about it, Sona has done nothing for Dev to be in love with her, she has not provided him with any type of comfort or care that someone in his life already hasn't. Don't get me wrong, she is nice to him here and there when she's not busy calling him Mr. Obodro😆and she does take care of his mother, but even there she is being paid to do so. I mean, Tina is more there for him than Sona is.

So ultimately what my post is about, is that although I understand a lot of your guys' anguish about Dev's ( nonexistent) feeling towards Sona, I feel like ( story wise) it makes more sense for him to NOT be in love with Sona ( YET AT LEAST) than to be.

I want him to fall in love with Sona, but their relationship needs to grow, a lot more.

Our anger is not against dev for not realising his feelings for sona. For all we know he may not have any feelings for her at all. He is surely entitled to take his time to realise what he feels for sona. That does not bother me at all. What bothers most of the forum members is sona's reaction and how she is stuck in that phase of love lost puppy. Right from the beginning of the show, she was potrayed as a very strong and independent women and not somebody who gives up or cries so easily. But after the accident episode she is just not herself. And the cv are dragging this track unnecessarily. We get it she is in love. And her feelings are not reciprocated. Fine. But whats wid all the rona dhona, dreams, rr nagging, elena becoming love doctor and instigating sona all the time to propose. To be very honest being a girl i cannot relate to all this at all. Life doesnt stop for anything. And over dramatisation doesnt help just to encash sympathy from viewers. It is indeed a torture for us because i love sona's character. Cant see her in pain.

I feel cv shud have a little more practical approach. Wherein sona shud move on till dev realises now. And then it shud be her call what she wants to do about it.

Totally agree. For me, even the dream scene was a let down as we got see the proposal portion upfront. It felt like a deflected balloon.
In fact, even Nikki seems to partial to Natasha...No one really has seen any value in Sona.

You know this has irked me too...I wont even say the accident but its after her realization that she loves Dev, her character has changed a lot...I mean I miss that headstrong quality of hers...I mean why does she have to tolerate anything Radharani says...she is not a member of their family to put up with any of their nonsense.

Another thing that bugs me is Elena's advices for Sona to go and confess her love...I mean at least Sona is grounded enough and keeps telling Elena that Dev only views as an employee but Elena keeps filling Sona's head with stuff that at this point wont work at all...especially knowing what kind of a person Dev is.

I agree...the contrast between independant level headed Sona and this lovey dovey star eyed is too different...she should defo be more collected and less dazed by her feelings I agree. And yes I also agree that she should move on until he realizes his feelings and not become a female Devdas.

Nice post
The character is shown to be very guarded, but it spite of that hhe's gettingis very comfortable with sona ,although he doesn't realize it completely
He's so comfortable with.sona that he discusses his marriage plans /no plans with her ...something he isn't even doing with his mom
That I think is coming from a realization that sona genuinely cares for him ,
I think every other character in the show thinks he's. Super hero ,its only sona who treats him human and like sona said every one requires a support system ,she is slowly becoming the support system
Frankly.i don't want this track to be finished ina. Week ,they need to take time to build up this track

Great question! And it made me think. 😃 I haven't read all the replies here so don't know if someone's already said this, but wanted to put down my thoughts anyway.
So here goes:

1) Sona is an equal partner for his cares. She has shouldered and shared the weight of his almost overwhelming burdens:
His mother - his biggest concern. She rescues Ishwari in their first meeting and takes her to hospital. Thereafter she takes care of Ishwari's health. Giving Dev peace of mind.
His sisters - she bridges the generation gap between Nikki and Dev. Like when she advocates that Nikki should be allowed to go to the sleepover, and then rescues Nikki. And by releasing Neha from her chores of looking after Ishwari, she pours oil over those troubled waters as well.

2) She is a calming, settling influence on Dev's entire family. And man is it needed! It's impressive how Sona almost never loses her control with them no matter how terrible the provocation. So many instances, but one stands out: when Ishwari wanted her to throw out the trunk of her children's memories, but Sona stored it away for her.

3) Sona brings the fun back into his life. For a man who's never really had time for the lighter things in life, Sona helps him finally enjoy the fruits of his labour. Like the comp games she pushes Nikki to get for him. Sona's family is such a 'circus' that just being with them lightens Dev's day. Then there is Sona herself - her fear of the dark released the playful streak in him and got him laughing.

4) She challenges him. She's stood up to him from their first meeting. She challenges his convictions. She is independent and fiesty. He likes that about her. I remember his scorn when he mimicked her reference to her suitor who would have 'allowed' her to work in Delhi. 😃

5) They've shared significant life events. To me Sona's accident is the clincher. It was a terrible trauma for both of them. Dev put all he had (including his most private and personal memories) into saving her life. Into ensuring she recovered. He has a stake in her well-being. He will never be able to set that aside throughout his life. Neither will Sona be able to forget what he did for her. A shared experience of that nature can - and has - strengthen the bond between them.

6) There is a growing attraction. 😃 The basis of 'more than friendship'. From the unconscious scaring away of suitors to the trip-fall-catch when one of them visits his home, to the need to dance with her at the award function, to dropping her home, to checking up on her well-being after her accident, to that hand hold and lingering brush of thumb when she went to get the cricket bat...And today when he was not unaffected by her slamming into him.

Everything he's sought in his life-partner, in the woman of his dreams he's finding in Sona. She's woven herself into his life so quietly that he can't see it just yet. But his need for her is such that it won't be long before realization dawns.

Sorry for the long post, but the question was such...😃

I loved this reply. Interesting analogy.

Thanks for bringing to attention and analyzing some of these special moments between the two - I guess they aren't as explicit so you really need to divulge and assess to realize the magnitude of effect these moments could have.

In life we can't always be head strong...for her the accident was a wake up call at some point we had to see a side of sona that we all have in us...and that is the ability to fall in love...even though that person don't know u were in love with them...and I am enjoying the character of sona because she is human after all...the writers have done a great job with the character of sona...and as independent and headstrong as she is they have shown her human side...we sometimes get carried away by the fact that independent strong minded women should not be in fantasy land...how many of u has had that dream of prince charming...sona just saw it in dev...
I know a lot of u will be upset with this comparison but think about it Christian grey could not understand that he was falling in love with Anna and only when she was out of his life he understood he was in love with her and he became restless...Anna despite all of Christian's shady lifestyle still fell in love and was also his support...

People like Dev in real life cannot love anyone-simple they don't have time and they are too(sometimes over)focused to achieve their ambitions due to circumstances that scope and hope of love vanishes from their life ,the position where dev is today is achieved not only by hard work but also at the cost of loosing trust in people where hawk eyed people can anytime come and take everything from your life once you are not alert that is why dev has turned robotic somewhere which is actually not a bad idea
Devakshi relationship first of all started on a very bad note where he made her terminated from her hard earned job and made her house maid by restricting her other options too ,she has to bear that mami because dev has made her position without realizing such that anyone can say anything to her ,she is full time available for everyone -one can obviously won't have any respect for such person forget love and even once she realized till that time damage was done by her speaking mr. obodro and all dev knew whats in her mind which was usually hatred towards him which converted into small friendship(i stopped watching after accident so don't know much after that)
but dev with his prejudice in mind for sona thinks she is only a nutritionist even though she has sacrificed a lot for this job(which looks high paid but loosing her integrity).
Itna kuch kiya uske liye ab kya jaan de de?
And now enters a girl who never actually did anything for him but just because she has a strong family background which is lucrative for his business he would obviously turn towards her thinking business.
So sona need not put any extra efforts if love has to happen it would without any effort Dev got opportunity of that accident so his care was highlighted whereas Sona already has boundries to reach Dev if there is some emergency first his maa, then his irritating mami and then off course the new Natasha.
