CHAPTER FOUR

When I reached my room after walking out from Dr. Thakur's cabin leaving Dev to talk to him. He said he needed pain killer. Why was he in pain? My thoughts kept drifting to Dev again and again. And if he knew Dr. Thakur then why did he ask me to come along with him to help him find a doctor? I want to know what was going on. I will ask Dev whenever I meet him again.

Pooja wasn't here as usual. I haven't gotten much time to interact with her ever since I came here. She is a nice person and she had already made a place in my heart when she defended me in front of her friends. I should get used to it why would she be here. She might be with her gang partying. I wonder if she ever attended classes. If I was in her place I would never miss a single class. Missing class was never something I did even during school time.

I was so tired after the entire day filled with lectures and practical classes I wanted to collapse in bed and sleep because I had to prepare for the next day and revise everything taught today. I picked up my planner and started to make notes about all the topics taught today. When I was satisfied with what I wrote in my planner I placed it back on my study table and went to my dresser to pull out a plain trouser and matching tee-shirt with it. I had to shower it will make me feel fresh and will drain out all the tiredness that I was feeling.

I took my towel and clothes along with all the toiletries I needed and walked out to go the bathroom to shower.

Like I had imagined showering actually helped a lot. The cold water when fell on my torn muscles made them sting and relax at the same time. When I finished bathing I pulled my clothes from the rank to wear but to my dismay the clothes fell to the wet floor and before I could pick them up they were soaked in water.

"Damn it" I cursed loud

I cannot wear the soaked clothes. What should I do now? May be I should ask someone to go fetch new clothes from my room. But I don't know anyone here except Pooja and Bhavika and I had no idea where both of them where. So I wrapped the towel securely around me and walked in faster pace towards my room before anyone saw me like this.

When I entered my room I went in pure shock.

"WHAT THE HELL DEV?" I said when I saw him lying on Pooja's bed looking at me with a smirk like he owned this place.

OH LORD HE JUST SAW ME IN A TOWEL my mind kept racing.

"Oh Sonakshi I totally forgot you live here too" he said with a wicked smile

"GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE. I'm just here in a towel" I said frantically

"Take it easy. It's not like I'm interested in looking at you anyway. You are not my type" he said and turned around and covered his eyes with his arms and pretended that he was asleep.

I WANT TO KILL HIM. Dear god this boy just brings out the worst in me. I was never murderous or believed in violence but he just makes me so mad with his constant immoral comments for me. I felt my heart beat increase and blood rush in my veins and arteries as I pulled new pair of clothes form my dresser holding the towel tight in its place so that it doesn't fall off. He said he was not interested in seeing me. Then what was he interested in? What was his type? Yeah may be his type was that tiny girl Achal who dressed in tiny clothes and extremely high heels. I have to stop thinking about him all the time.

I took my new pair of clothes back to the washroom to change.

I have to ask him about what happened at the hospital. When I get back there I will ask him what kind of pain killer he was taking. And how long has been taking them? And if he knew who Dr. Thakur was then why did he tag me along with him? I had so many question unanswered and I have to find the answers.

When I reached room again it was empty. Disappointment flashed inside me when I saw Pooja's bed was empty. I had expected him to be there.

I don't know what was wrong with me? Why would I want Dev near me again? After all the rude remarks and comments he made. Why was I feeling disappointed when I didn't see him in the room? No Sonakshi you have to stop thinking about Dev. He is getting under my skin that's what he wants and I won't let him win. Why should I care if he was taking pain killers or not or whatever, it was his problem.

I reached my bed and snuggle into my pillow and blanket and soon my mind was blank and I was deep into sleep.

When I woke up and saw the time in my phone I relaxed. I did not sleep long just for an hour. The tiredness was long gone and I was ready to begin my work. I took out my books and started going through all the previously taught lesson and kept making short notes along the sides of the notebook. By 8:30 I was done with all my work and then I decided to relax. May be I should read novel I still had to finish reading it as I slept in the train and couldn't reach the end the story was getting quite interesting with all the twists and turns and I was enjoying reading it.

When in the middle of my reading Pooja walked into the room all dressed up in a black shorts and loose baggy top with converse shoes. Her hair curled and opened and her face had thick layers of makeup.
"Sonakshi!" she exclaimed and jumped towards me and gave me a warm hug.

"Pooja I thought I would see you again late at night when you sneak into the room crying over boyfriend drama" I joked

She let out a laugh and gave me a huge smile.

"Come on get ready we have to go to a party" she said

"No Pooja you go enjoy I have to read the novel" I said pointing towards the novel in my hand

"Please Sonakshi please Sonakshi come with me to the party" she begged

"Pooja I don't even know anyone there and party is not really my thing" I said

"You will know me there. Come along Sonakshi you will enjoy its college! You need to get a little loosen up and chill" she said her eyes were twinkling like if I said yes she would be the happiest person on earth.

And I couldn't say no. she was just so sweet and moreover she was my roommate we were suppose to live together and build an understanding and I already felt like we were beginning to become friends and I desperately needed a friend.

"Okay I will come along where is the party?" I asked

"At Dev's house" she beamed happily

Yes the universe was definitely paying tricks on me. Oh lord what will I do now? I had planned on staying away from him but now I agreed going to his party and I can't even back out now because Pooja will be so upset of I did. What should I do?
