Krishna Mohini OS: Lullaby

Krishna glanced around Aryaman's spacious bedroom, which was larger than her own house. The room was tidy, and she stood awkwardly near the cupboard, waiting for Aryaman to enter. The walls were adorned with numerous photos of Aryaman and his family, all of them looking incredibly happy. As she looked at the photos, she couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt, knowing that these joyful people were affected by her actions.

Aryaman entered the room without noticing Krishna. He rubbed his forehead and sat on the edge of the bed. Kundan-uncle had slapped him. He wasn't hurt physically much, but he was hurt because he broke his uncle's trust, just like his father. Ananya was also very sad. The situation was just too messy.

Slowly, he leaned back on the bed, thinking about all the things that had happened in the past few days. He closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead.

"If you wish, Then I can make you a gada to reduce your headache."

Aryaman suddenly opened his eyes, roused from his trance by the sound of Krishna's voice. As he blinked and focused, he noticed Krishna standing near the cupboard. She resembled a statue in the dimly lit room. He sat up like a bolt.

"How long were you standing there?"

Krishna looked uneasy and did not say anything. Aryaman sighed. He forgot that he would be sharing his room with Krishna from now on. He looked at his 'wife'. She also had her whole life turned upside-down. She had to hear insulting words from Ananya, Srijala-aunty, and Sid. Accusations like trapping a rich guy. She must also feel awful now. But she did not complain even once.

Aryaman did not realize how long he kept staring at her but then, she looked extremely uncomfortable, and he came back to his senses.

He cleared his throat. "You must be tired." He started trying to bring back normalcy. Krishna nervously fidgeted with her dupatta as an answer. Aryaman again sighed.

"You better freshen up and sleep... You also dealt with many things today. We will solve things tomorrow." He said while standing up from the bed. Krishna nodded.

"So, you can go first and have a bath." He said pointing at the bathroom. Krishna silently opened her luggage pulled some clothes and walked towards the bathroom.

"If you need any towel... There are some on the side closet." He informed her as she reached the bathroom. Krishna murmured her acknowledgment.

As soon as she disappeared, Aryaman looked around the room. His room. The room which he had planned to share with Ananya. At that time, he did not feel anything. Afterall it was just Ananya. His childhood friend who always burst into his room without even knocking. It never felt odd.

But now, he had to share it with Krishna. How can this feel so different?

Now, it felt that he was sharing his room with a woman. A woman who will share her future with him. From now on, her happiness, and her sorrows all would be his responsibility.

He rubbed his forehead. Thinking about all these was just making his head throb.

He turned around as he heard the bathroom door open. Krishna came out. Her face glistened with moisture. The ends of her hair were slightly moist. Arayaman remembered the first time they saw each other under the ocean. He wondered if she remembered it as vividly as he did.

Krishna looked away as he continued to stare at her. He came out of his thoughts.

"You can sleep on the bed."

Aryaman ignored the fact that her eyes became as wide as saucers at the mention of bed.

"You can switch on the AC. It is still hot."

Krishna tried to say something, but Aryaman continued.

"You can use those two cupboards for your clothes." He said pointing towards the cupboards he had to clear out before going to Dwaraka. On Ananya's instructions.

"I will sleep on the sofa. Aryaman sir." Krishna interrupted.

Aryaman closed his eyes exasperated. He did not have much energy. He opened his eyes and said,

"Krishna... We are now husband and wife. I will not force you for anything. But I think we should slowly start to feel comfortable with each other's presence. We are going to live with each other for the rest of our lives after all. You better get used to all this."

Krishna nodded.

Aryaman went inside the bathroom. Krishna looked around the room again. This room felt so strange. It was too large. Was she supposed to call this her room from now on?

She walked towards the cupboards. They were empty as if already ready for someone's clothes. Krishna immediately knew that these cupboards were waiting for Ananya Madam's clothes. Krishna remembered the tear-filled face of Ananya-madam. She remembered all the harsh words everyone told her that morning. A gold-digger. That she trapped Aryaman-Sir. All the thorny words just spiraled in her head as she stared into the cupboard. The cupboard which was supposed to be of Ananya Madam's.

Aryaman, feeling weary after a long and stressful day, took a brief shower. As he was about to exit the bathroom in his typical half-naked state, he suddenly recalled Krishna's presence and didn't want to startle the already anxious girl. With this in mind, he quickly put on a T-shirt before stepping out of the bathroom.

Krishna's gaze was fixed on the cupboard, lost in deep thought.

"Krishna" He called her. She did not react.

"Krishna" he tried again but still, there was not much response.

He went near her. Her eyes were just so sad. It was such a heartbreaking scene. He called her name softly once more, "Krishna". This time Krishna snapped out of her thoughts.

Aryaman knew he couldn't offer empty words of consolation. What could he say? "Don't worry!" "Everything will be fine?" They were both stuck in the same boat in the middle of the storm.

"Let's sleep." He said and went towards the bed. Krishna hesitated but slowly sat near the edge.

Aryaman lay on the bed and closed his eyes. He sensed that Krishna did not lie on the bed.

"Krishna... Just sleep. You also need rest." He said slowly without opening his eyes.

"Hmm."

Krishna lay down, and as she did, he felt the mattress shift ever so slightly under her weight.

Aryaman tried to sleep but couldn't. The events that transpired today just played on a loop in his head. He didn't know how long he stayed like that with his eyes closed.

"Aryaman Sir" Krishna called him softly.

"Hmm," Aryaman replied with eyes still closed.

"Can I go and check on Mohan?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

He opened his eyes and noticed her with her back turned towards him, lying uncomfortably close to the edge of the bed.

"He might have already slept" Aryaman closed his eyes yet again.

"I'll just check on him. If he is already asleep then, I'll come back soon."

"Ok Then"

He felt her get out of bed and leave the room. He waited for what felt like an eternity for her to return. When she did not come back even after half an hour, he got worried that she had gotten lost and went to search for her. He went straight to the guest room where Mohan was sleeping.

"Now... That's it Mohan" He heard her voice consoling her brother.

He peeked inside. Mohan was resting his head on his sister's lap. The siblings were crying.

"But didi.. I was really sad when they called you..."

"That is it... That is enough crying for today. Now Sleep. I'll sing you a lullaby."

Krishna began to sing a lullaby as she gently patted her brother. Aryaman sat on the floor, leaning against the wall as he listened to the lullaby. Krishna's voice always had a calming effect on his heart, and his headache seemed to lessen. He wondered about the magic in Krishna's voice. He closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

He slowly opened his eyes, blinking away the disorientation. As his surroundings came into focus, he recognized the familiar corridor. It was dawn. The sun was slowly painting the dark sky red. Peering inside, he saw the siblings, Krishna and her brother, fast asleep. Krishna was slumbering in a seated position, her brother nestled on her lap. Her hand rested on her brother's back, paused mid-pat. Aryaman couldn't help but smile at the heartwarming sight before quietly retreating to his own room, careful not to disturb their peaceful slumber.

Really captured both their awkwardness with this new relationship

Arya also slept hearing her lullabysmiley27

Keep writing moresmiley27

I hope even in the show they don't forget this music angle. Or show Krishna making her career out of it or something. Even Arya seems to have been fond of music.
