4 years 10 months later...
Life can never be trusted fully. It gives you dreams and hopes only to take it all away the next day and gives you the most difficult path to get what was yours in the first place.
4 years have passed since Krishna had moved to London to complete her degree. Every day was the same. She entered the university at 8 AM sharp, with Radhay smiling and waving at her as she enters. Every day, she stops at the gate for a few seconds looking at Radhay, only to get back to the real busy world.
Dr Sahay, please wait for a second!' The familiar voice made Krishna stop. She turned around to see Dr Batra coming towards her.
Krishna: Yes, Dr Batra?
Dr Batra: Dr Sahay, how are you today?
Krishna: I am good, and you?
Dr Batra: Good too, thanks. Dr Sahay, I have noticed that every day you stop at the gate for a while staring at empty space. May I ask what's that about?
Krishna: Nothing Dr Batra. The empty space is my strength. Do you want to say something?
Dr Batra: Yes. Well in about two months time you'll be a qualified doctor. Have you thought about your future?
Krishna: Yes, well I'll go back to India...
Dr Batra: What if I give you an opportunity here? Well, as it is, you've topped your class every year and the department knows you'll be the top of your class this year too. So the London Hospital wants to offer you a job as an oncologist in training.
Krishna: Thank you, Dr Batra. It's a great position but I think I'll have to...

As Krishna starts walking towards her class, her phone rings. Without even looking at the caller id she knew who would be at the other end. Smilingly, she answers the call.
Krishna: Hello Naini
Naini: Hello bhabi, kasi ho ap?
Krishna: I'm good, tum kasi ho?
Naini: Hum b theek hain bhabi.
They both knew that now only silence will follow. For the last 4 years, that's how they've conversed every single day. The silence meant everything was fine.
Krishna could not gather her courage to ask Naini about Veer, or ma. She knew things and emotions were too complicated there.
Naini did not want to burden Krishna with all the hatred Sunaina had for Krishna nor did she want to tell her the struggles of her dadda in jail.
Krishna: Naini, humari class agae. I have to go now. Apna khyl rakhna.
Naini: Okay bhabi, ap b apna khyl rakhna. See you soon bhabi.
With a heavy heart and a smile on her face, Krishna enters her class.

It's been 4 years since Veer was in jail. Being a doctor had helped him keep his sanity. He had been asked by the jail authorities to work as a doctor for the prisoners. Veer had jumped at the opportunity.
It was the usual Monday morning. He was in his small cabin, provided by the authorities, busy with his patients. He knew Naini would be showing up soon. She's the only one he had agreed to meet in all these years.
Prison guard: Doctor sahab. Apki behn agayn. Mulakat ka wakt hogaya h.
Veer anxiously gets up and goes to the meeting room to meet his chutki. He had noticed that in the past few years she had grown up so much. He was glad that Shashank and her relationship had only strengthened with time. Both of them had taken over all his responsibilities.
Naini looks at his brother.
Naini: Dadda, kasay ho ap?
Veer: Theek hoon. Tum kasi ho?
Naini: Hum b theek hain...
Veer: Aur ma...
Naini: Ma bhi theek hain. Apko bht yaad karti hain... dadda 4 saal hogae... aik dafa ma say tu mil layn...
Veer: No, Naini.
Naini: Par kyu...
Veer: Kyu k it was as much ma's fault as mine. I can't see her in jail - but she needs to be punished too. Aur phr uno ne mere Krishna k sath jo kuch kia...
Naini: Dadda...
Veer: Krishna kasi h? Uski parhai kasi ja ri h...

Prisoner guard: Doctor sahb, Time khtm. Apko chalna hoga...
Veer nods at the guard.
Veer: Apna khyl rakhna Naini, aur ma k b...
Naini: Don't worry dadda. Bus 2 months aur... apko ma, ghar aur apka hospital wasay ka wasay he milay ga...
Veer: Shashank ko thank you bolna. Mere sentence k badh usne ghar aur hospital ki responsibility bht achay say sambhali h...
Naini: Dadda, bahir nikal k khud thank you bol dijye ga...
Veer leaves the room while Naini looks on... Two months more and then her family will be together again...
