Jiggs, I agree with what you have said totally. I have not seen Manikanda because of Arjun - except for Muthalvan, I am not sure whether I like any of his films. Like you, Jothika is not my favourite actress, it is Revathi. I just love that girl. But amongst the current batch, Jo is/was the best. Let me quickly qualify and say "in my opinion". If Simran was around, it would have been a different story....but then again, the balance would have been tilted in Jo's favour for me. I liked her in Kushi too and like I said before, if overacting was a crime, the great Nadigar Thilagam was a serial offender!! Like ditty, I like her exuberance and even her silly dances!! After all, many of us watch cinema to be entertained and forget out daily worries and stress for a couple of hours.

I thought Jo in Dhool was smashing!! 😆

I did watch many of her movies Caryn, but can't remember much of her dancing 😉 ....

And Karthika, im not suprised ur bro finds her hot. My hubby said the same too and the reasons are the same as ur bro's 😆

Jiggs, Jo is not my fav too. But i like her acting and she is pretty. Infact, manikanda movie was bad but i liked her in that movie. Jo first caught my attention in Karka Karka. She was stunning there. The other actress that i feel is preety too is Sneha and Simran. Sneha, i just love her smile. And Simran, umm dun know why but i do like her. She looks pretty in saree at the Super Star show. Also, her new serial, she looks good. But my fav had always been Kajol and Revathi.. 😳

Wow.. A lot of things seem to have happened here, in just the one day I was gone.

To all those who are asking NOT TO BOTHER:
Did you ever stop to think, why if you could make a post on your favorite Jyothika (which you have professed, a number of times in the past, but just not this time), the others who don't think likewise - can't/shouldn't?

IMO (as everyone around here is also as opinionated or more) it was Radha Mohan who weaved that magic in Mozhi, just as he did in Azhagiya Theeye. Again a Duet movies production with PrakashRaj and hardly known faces like Prasanna and Navya Who? The movie was a super hit, for it's story, screenplay, script, direction and of course the actors contribution. (This didn't even have the marketing hype that surrounded Mozhi). So, going by the same logic (and not stats) Mozhi was a hit for Radhamohan (for his script/direction), just as his first one was, in PrakashRaj's production. Can't deny the actors' contribution, but that's not all!

No one (at least I'm not) is trying to change another's opinion on Jyothika. You should know that by now. If she's your favorite (or not) let her be. But just as you have your opinions and have your say on her, others do too. And they may not share the same views.

This forum should be conducive for anything to be posted on Jyothika, as long as it's keeping with the forum's rules. Just b'cos ten people like her and one person doesn't, their views shouldn't be boycotted. Is that what's happening to cinemalover? I can't tell.

The Global moderator didn't just come by to close some threads, obviously there was something happening behind the scenes?

I thought besides what Cinemalover was posting on Jyothika (which wasn't really a lot, actually) he did post a lot of other info on actresses in general, which was a good read. I'd like to think that most of us are mature readers, or rather adult readers with a wee bit of immaturity 😉

As far as I can see, no one is in that kind of a state, where one can force anything down your throat. So, what's the problem? What happened to the discussions?

So, are we in that kind of a state where we don't allow freedom of expression, just because we don't agree with it?! In that case, WOW.. I'm speechless!

okay, i think my words have been taken the wrong way. i said those who wanted to contradict my post, i mean only my posts about jothika with statistics & facts needn't bother because my liking for jothika isn't based on all these facts and statistics. let's face it, it's not going to make me dislike her or make the other person like her any more than they did at the beginning.😊

i didn't ask anyone to stop posting in this forum nor did i insist that those who don't really like jothika shouldn't post their opininons here. what i said was for my post only because i didn't want to argue with anybody.😊 so please don't take it the wrong way!

btw jenim, not everyone here er.. boycotts cinemalover. i admire his wide knowledge of kollywood in general & have never ignored him or his views.

Yes.. that's what I thought about Cinemalover' s posts too. As he said in the beginning, he seems to have some bit of info on cinema/actresses in general(which you can see from his numerous posts in just a few days), which is of interest to tamil cinema lovers, like me, you and probably some others too. So, don't understand why the threads are closed every single day!?

Jiggs, people find CL's posts offensive because (a) he is not open to people disagreeing with him (b) he calls people names because they dared to disagree with him (c) when Mods close a topic because he was flouting the forum's rules, he goes and opens similar threads, using the same modus operandi.

I myself was looking forward to his posts because he said he was allegedly a cinema historian and as I am fascinated by the black-and-white era, I was looking forward to his posts and indeed I told him so. However, he seems to be beating the same dead horse - actresses who do not speak Tamil are not actresses at all (with the exception of Simran 😉 ), Jothika is not an actress etc etc. Some members got really upset at some of the things that was written.

Speaking for myself, I do not respond anymore. There is no serious dissemination of information or knowledge that I expected and desired, so there is nothing to contribute. 😊

Karthika, u should thank CL for one think. You had hit 500 and now in one week, u had post up to 47 posts 😆 😆 😆 Soon, maybe in less a month you would hit 1000 and from senior member to goldie 😆 🤣 🤣

phew.. thanks for clearing that up jenim. i thought you got mad at me.😛 hmm.. i think it's because some of cinemalover's posts/topics are offensive & when a topic is closed, the mod does give a reason for it. if topics are closed without any rhyme or reason, you can always pm a global mod so they'll take the neccessary action.😊

karthikka i understand what you mean. cinemalover has got a really wide knowledge of kollywood but sometimes it's just the way he/she puts it across that is offensive to some people in this forum.

anyway let's all move on. to me, if something offensive to me is repeated over & over again, i'll just let it go.

CL, I am really getting tired of all this. Kannal pesum penne is from the song in Mozhi referring to Jo's character. I love that song.

You know what? You are right. Jyothika is crap. Mozhi was a hit not because of her, but because of everyone and everything else, including the cockroach. Thank God that she's gone. Her fans are all Philistines, who cannot appreciate good acting.
