Read somewhere that Actor Vadivelu used to be a rickshaw driver (Not Auto but the cycle-rickshaw) in Madurai before coming to films.

Director Rajkiran was the first one to give him a break in movies and Vadivelu always talks highly about Rajkiran!!

Looks like actor Vivek used to work under director K Balachander as assistant and also act in small roles in some of his movies!

Actor Ramarajan used to sell tickets in movie theater

Had her parents followed conventional ways of naming, Asin's name would have been Mary(her grandmother's name)

I thought Asin's real name was Mary something?

Seems Kuselan is also based on Rajni's real life. He had a friend who supported him through thick and thin and sponsored him through acting school even though he himself was very poor.
