Chapter 2
Arjun managed to finish what Arohi needed and luckily he never got to see the angry side of her. It was finally time for lunchtime and he needed a rest. First day at his job and he was hating it. He got out his tiffin which his lovely sisters had made for him. They were totally life savers he thought to himself. "Thank god, food!" Just as he went to place the roti in his mouth, he saw a beautiful young woman waiting right opposite his eyes. He just kept staring, and staring until it really hit him. "Ma'am!" He shouted, dropping his roti and quickly pushing himself up from the chair.
"Mr Punj, get to my office now!" Arjun was moved back and could see a beautiful face turn into a angry expression appearing within seconds. She stormed away towards her office while thoughts began scanning through Arjun's head as he was trying to conclude what mistake he had made now. Shutting his tiffin and packing it away in his bag, he led his way to Arohi's office. Dammit, i didn't even get to have my lunch! Does this woman want me to starve to death and die! Arjun was beyond angry himself, but he knew how he had to stay in his limits. If he even dared to yell at her, he would be straight out of this job, and this really wasn't planned or expected. Arjun walked into the office to see Arohi's arm's crossed across her chest and giving evil looks to him. Arjun broke the silent atmosphere "Ma'am, you called me?" Arohi rolled her eyes and the finally responded. "Listen Mr Punj, when i give you instructions, i expect you to follow them. I had told you to email each and everyone of the contractors, but when i checked the emails, you hadn't sent even one single email. Instead, you carelessly just saved them into the saving folder." Arjun's mouth opened as he was about to speak but Arohi cut him off. "Now you listen to me carefully Mr Punj, if you are not going to work properly, feel free to leave. You know where the door is, and you can make your exit. I'm not here to be wasting time telling you what to do over and over again. Once i make my instructions clear,your expected to follow them, not do the total opposite!" Arohi kept babbling on while Arjun stood there thinking, What a Bit*h! It hadn't even been one full day, and he was already loosing his mind with her voice. His fists clutched, his actions wanted to do something, but his head was telling him to keep calm.
Just then, Arjun had had enough. "Ma'am! Enough, please, you can't just accuse me of something thats wrong. Now that i've listened to you, have some respect in listening to me!" Arohi's eyes grew wide, she was speechless. Someone answering Arohi Sharma back was definately a no no. Nobody even dared to answer back to her in the office. Arjun continued, "First of all, i DID send the messages. Second of all, i saved them in the saving folder just in case you wanted me to re-send anything. I am here to work for you, and follow your instructions. I clearly dont want you to waste your time in talking to me, and i don't want to waste mine. We have our own status in this office, your my boss and i'm your PA." Arjun smirked, and he crossed his arms. Seeing Miss Sharma totally gobsmacked and expressionless was a classic. He seriously wanted to take a picture of her face. Arohi shook her head, gritted her teeth and her nostrils flared. "Mr Punj, how dare you even speak back to me! Who do you think you are? You work for me! You do what i say! Infact, i don't even want you to work here. Your just useless, your no good to anyone. Get out of my office right this minute! Or i'll be calling the security guards to chuck you out!" Now Arjun had totally had enough. He did nothing at all and this crazy woman was just loosing her temper for nothing. "You know what Arohi Sharma! I don't want to even work in your stupid office. Your just a arragont woman who's using her status for everything. I really don't know why people fall on their knees just to see you, their not missing much anyways! And yes, listen to me this time, i would be careful at the way you speak to a man. You women are not capable of being able to win a arguement with a man, so i would really zip my mouth up if i was you!" Arohi scrunched up her fists and pointed one arm in the direction of the door, "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY OFFICE! NOW!" Arjun didn't wait one minute, frankly not even thirty seconds in there. The atmosphere had totally heated up with Arjun and Arohi arguing with each other. I really wasn't the perfect day for them.
Arjun stood on the edge of the road, staring blankly at the people rushing around him. Cars drove past, people jumped onto the buses, kids returning from school, and there was Arjun. Standing there hopelessly, regretting what he had done. But he couldn't just stand there looking like a vegetable while a stupid arragont singer just getting shouted at for no absoloute reason. Thinking about it, he realized that he had to find another job, just to look after him and his sister. Dammit, what am i going to do now...i've lost my job, on the first day, and i have to go home and dissappoint Sheetal and Khushi. We were all counting on this job. Now everything is ruined. Arjun looked down and walked along the streets thinking what if i apologized to her? No, he couldn't do that. Whatever Arjun said was right, she had no right to shout and accuse him for something wrong. He had to break the news at home, the news of loosing his job of a PA for a superstar on the first day.
Arohi still coudn't get over how rude her PA was. She walked from left, right to center in her office, still gritting her teeth and clutching her fists together. If only she saw him one more time she would literally jump on him and attack him. But thank god there was no more to see of her. How dare he say i'm an arragont boss! How could he possibly think as if he was the boss? If i see him one more time i would- Arohi's thoughts were put aside as someone knocked on her door. Taking a few deep breaths she calmed down and told the person to enter. The recpetionist walked in and informed her about a meeting that she was meant to attend like ten minutes ago, and how everyone were waiting for her. She quickly refreshed her mind and led herself into the meeting. Half way through the meeting the other business people could now realize that Arohi kept wandering off somewhere. Her mind was just focussing on what had happened with Arjun. "Miss Sharma, Miss Sharma?" A business woman called Arohi out of her thoughts by clicked her fingers in her face. "What are you thinking about Miss Sharma? This meeting is really important for us, please stay focussed." Arohi smiled and nodded, "Yeah sorry, i've just got a bit of a headache bugging me right now, i think i'll take a leave" Arohi stood up, she really had gained a hedache from earlier. Getting all her belongings from the office, she made a exit towards home.
"Bhai, how could you do that! So what if she told you off and accussed you! She's your boss, you have to just stand there quiet and listen to her!" Sheetal her hands on her hips and shook her head. "But Sheetal, her attitude stinks! So what if i worked for her, she should have some respect at least!" Khushi joined herself into the conversation, "Yeah bhai, now look, your jobless, and i will be having to pay for my studies within a month! What are we going to do!" Arjun put his head down and said, "I'm sorry, i'll look for another job, i won't let you both down on this." "Bhai, you've already let me down, i thought you knew better..." Sheetal walked away leaving Arjun with Khushi. Khushi sghed and went to Arjun. "Bhai, don't worry about it, Sheetal will get over it, better luck next time!" Khushi left too and Arjun dropped down on his couch with guilt over his face. He needed a job, and that too quick. I had to do something to keep his famly going.
Sheetal held the business card in her right hand and the phone in her left. Should i call, or should i not? She thought to herself. Making her mind up she dialed the number copying it from the card. Placing the phone to her ear, she waited for an answer. "Hello, is this Miss Sharma?" "Yes it is, who's speaking?" Sheetal mumbled, "Umm, actually, i want to apoligize on behalf of my brother, Mr Arjun Punj, i heard he spoke to you rudely, and he's very sorry, but please give him another chance." "Please, i don't want to talk about that stupid ignorant man!" "Wait Miss Sharma, please. Its a request, he didn't mean to behaviour badly towards you but he is truely sorry. Give him one more chance, he really needs this job, please" There was a pause on the other side of the phone until Arohi spoke, "Fine, i will give him the job, only on one condition" Sheetal thanked god and continued "He will do anything!" "He will have to do extra overtime, as a punishment in behaving rudly, he will get extra work and he will not get a pay-rise at all!" "That's fine Miss Sharma, he will obey your instructions." "Good, tell him to be in my office early tomorrow" And she cut the phone off. Sheetal jumped up and down with excitement. She ran down the stairs yelling Arjun and Khushi. They both ran downstairs thinking there was an emergency. "Sheetal are you okay?" Arjun panicked, checking if she was fine. "I'm more than happy bhai! Guess what, you got your job back!" Arjun's mouth dropped.
