Arjun says "No, what i have done for him is nothing compared to what he did for me. You will not understand what it is to be an orphan, grow in orphanage with bullies pouncing on you at every go, orphanage authorities punishing you for simple mistakes, no one to cajole you if you hurt yourself and going to sleep in tears". And after coming to house there has never been a day when i have cried, got hurt or got scared and either dad, you or Romit have not been around to wipe my tears, bandage my wounds or cajole me.

"In house if someone got hurt you remember how mom and dad especially dad would take all servants to task for not being careful. In orphanage no one will care if you are hurt, how you are hurt, who hurt you etc and many days you sleep half hungry and half naked. Billu, Makrand and I used to envy kids having icecream or chocolate because we would get them once in a year in the orphanage. The school authorities used to discriminate and not treat us with same love and respect as other children with parents. We did not have shoes to wear to school and were punished for wearing chappals to school everyday-kneel down for 10 minutes"

"It was the same case with classmates who would humiliate us because we were orphans, wore the same school uniform for 3-4 years although it was torn and stitched, did not have proper lunch to take to school sometimes go hungry at lunch break. So many times the hunger got better of us and we either searched for food in waste bins or would climb on the papaya and mango tree of our orphanage and have raw papayas and mango even at cost of having severe stomach pain for next few days.

We had no notebooks or text books to read and would go and search for blank sheets from garbage bin to practice maths etc. So many days i remember in winter we did not have warm clothes and Billu, Makrand and i huddled together without a sweater or blanket at nights". You know Rashi the best sleep i got in life was my first day in Singhania house on that soft bed and pillow with you and Michael to give me company. That day i slept so warm and stomach full for first time in my life and with two siblings on my either side. I got up scared at night like all nights in fear of my dreams(past) and saw that you both were there with me and i was not alone.

You know Rashi once a classmate's pen was stolen-the classmates thought I had stolen it as i was an orphan. The school authorities stripped me and made me stand out full day so that i confess. Then it was found with another boy in the class but they did not take any action as he had parents to protect him. They never bothered to say sorry to me for humiliating me in front of the entire class or for punishing me for no fault of mine.

"The happiest day of my life was when dad got me to our house. I will never forget that day in my entire life. I remember after dad adopted me and i went to a new school- the one you all used to go. One of the teachers from the previous school had shifted and started teaching in this new school. He was like "Arjun, what are you doing here? This school is for rich children, not for orphans like you. Who has paid your fees? Etc" and the just than dad who had come to meet principal came over and told "He is not an orphan, he is my son Rudra Pratap Singhania's son Arjun Singhania" the shock he had on his face and the respect he gave me from then on, i could never expect if i was Arjun the orphan and not Arjun Singhania, Rudra Pratap Singhania's son". And once when a teacher punished me for not doing my homework by hitting me and dad came to know, do you remember how mad he was and only stopped after principal and teacher apologized and said that will never be repeated again. It was my fault that i did not do homework and here it was right on part of teacher to punish me but dad would have none of it. He was like i never raise my hands on my kids how dare the teacher punish my kids?". There are so many incidents that if i keep talking it will take many days and nights to tell them.

Arjun and Rashi both have tears in their eyes, him thinking his past life and Rashi feeling the trauma her brother had undergone in childhood. To cheer up Arjun, Rashi wipes her tears and says "You are so right Arjun, no matter how much i dislike dad and his business, i will always love him because he gave a great brother like Arjun to me, Romit and Michael. I will be ever grateful for him for that one gift he gave us, always". Arjun manages to smile looking at Rashi through his tears.

ahhh thank you so much for putting more detail into the scenes, it makes for a easier read and i'm loven it!!!! The depth arjun explained his childhood was really good! It gave more scope into his character! And it makes sense about his blind faith in RPS. Thank you sooo much!👍🏼
