"Right Heer didi"? Meher asked.

She turned and saw her sister looking at the other guy. not talking or anything just staring and him at her.

"didi'"?

Heer abruptly looked away; her face grew warm and looked at her sister.

"Sorry meher, what were u saying?"

Annoyed, meher repeated herself.

"I was saying that we should just call the cops because it's not our fault and this is just a waste of time.

Prem stepped in and said "ek minute ek minute! Aise kuch haasil nahi hoga".

Meher just looked at him shocked and confused. Why is this guy speaking Hindi?

His brother just looked at him and wondered why was he speaking Hindi?

Then Meher and Preet faced each other and simultaneously exclaimed "your Indian?!"

"Yea are you"? They asked again at the same time.

Heer rolled her eyes.

"Now that we have established what we are, can we please get to the matter at hand?"

"im getting late so are you and im sure you guys have somewhere to be too", she said motioning to the two brothers.

"im getting late too but if you would stop being stubborn". Preet said pointing to Meher, "it wouldn't be this difficult"!

"Preet please be quiet" Prem told him.

"it was our fault and we will pay the damages."

Preet opened his mouth to argue but Prem cut him off.

"ill call my drive, he'll give your car to the repair shop, and from there the fees and formalities will be mailed to your lawyer.

"Seems plausible, what do you think didi?" she asked her sister.

"yea sure", Heer replied.

Prem: great in the meantime we'll be happy to drop you guys off wherever your going.

Preet: what!

Prem gave his brother a look.

Meher: yea sure!

Heer slapped her sister's arm and took her to the side.

What yes? We don't even know who they are! they could be mass murderers for all we no!

Meher: o didi you've been reading too many of those murder mysteries'they seem nice enough.

Heer: they all do at first but then'

She motioned her finger across her throat'

Meher: didi! How could u even say that! Besides we cant take a bus or taxi we don't have enough money, and if they try anything I have mace!

Heer: you have what?

Meher shuffled in her purse for a second and held it for Heer to see. It was a pepper spray.

Heer laughed: where did you get that from?

Meher: a friend gave it to me'

Heer: what a friend!

Meher: I no right! Now let's go! Were already half an hour late! Ill go get my stuff from the car. Go tell one of them that were ready.

Heer thought about it for a second, going in a car with two guys who she doesn't even know. What are the odds of anything going wrong she asked herself?

Heer went up to Prem and saw he was on the phone.

He hung up and said: that was my driver he's on his way to pick up your car.

Prem: are you guys ready?

Heer saw Meher returning from their totaled car and settling into the back seat while her and Preet exchanged some not so nice words again.

Heer:yea were ready.

Prem headed to his car and saw heer hesitate and understood.

Prem: just to let you know my intentions are strictly honorable'but if you want. I can call u a taxi.

Heer: no it's fine, thanks.

Prem:ok lets go!

While they walked Prem introduced himself.

By the way my name is Prem, Prem juneja. And that's my younger brother preet" prem said pointing to preey who just slammed the car door in mehers face (midst conversation ) and went to sit in the front seat.

Prem sighed and heer rolled her eyes.

Well that's my little sister Meher and im Heer. Heer thought it better not to tellthese strangers not to tell her last name'just to be on the safe side. And thankfully he didn't ask for it

Prem drove while Preet sulked in the seat behind him. During the car ride they learned that heer's univ. was not so far from where Prem was headed.

Prem: ill drop you off and then go to my classes, then my brother can drop your sister off.

Preet: what! If you expect me to - -

A glare from Prem shut him up.

When Heer got out Heer asked Meher: are you going to be alrite?

Meher: yes ill be fine

Heer: are you sure?

Meher now annoyed: yes!!

Heer: ok then ill see you later.

Heer looked at her watch and rushed to the entrance.

Prem watched her all the way and loved how her pony tail moved every time she did.

Realizing what he was thinking he shook his head and drove on.

Before leaving he asked Meher: do you have your lawyer's number? Ill be needing to call him'

Meher thought for a while and said: no my sister has it.

Prem then give me a number that I can contact asking for the number.

She wasn't going to give her number so she gave her sister's cell not telling him whose it was.

"Don't drive the car into anyone else today.., I don't want to die! I'm too young to die! Meher taunted after Preet traded spots with prem .Meher directed Preet to her university. While Preet was driving a thought occurred to him'he'd driven down this street before'when? As Meher kept telling him where to turn, he was getting irritated'why did this place look so familiar? As he pulled into the campus it hit him! This was where he went for his classes!

Prem went to his classes and came home and went straight to his room. He flopped on the bed thinking about the funny incident head this morning. How that girl was so pretty'no not pretty'beautiful.

God he was thinking about a girl he just saw and barely met. He must be going crazy! "It's because I slept around 2 last night! I'm not in making any sense today" he thought out loud to himself.

A knock on the door made him look up and saw his cousin veera come in.

Veera: talking to yourself? Definitely not a good sign..

Veera was about 2-3 years younger than him. She was spoiled but had a good heart. She was like the little sister he never had.

Prem: I wasn't talking to myself!

Veera: yes you were! I heard you when I came in'.what were you saying?

Prem: kuch nahi meri maa!! Ab jao!

Veera stuck her tongue out and said" fine nahi batana hai to na batao, mujhe bhi koi intrest nahi hai ke tum akele main apne aap se kya baatein kar rahe the..wierdo!

This time it was prem's turn to stick his tongue out at her. Prem threw a pillow at her and missed.

Veera: HA! Missed me!!

Prem: whatever'go away!!!

Veera: haan haan'jaa rahi hoon'ba itna batane aaye thi ke chachi khan eke liye bula rahi hai..aur tumhara favorite khaana bana hai..

Prem: ahca? ma se kaho main aaraha hoon.

Veera: ABHI!!!

Prem got half way up the bed and said" jaati hai ke nahin"

Veera: jaati hoon'jaati hoon'.

Before leaving she stuck her head in the door and said "next time your PMSing'tell me so I won't bother u"

Again Prem stuck his tongue at her and shut the door. Veera was like his little sister and he loves her'.but she could be a real pain in the butt'

He walked downstairs and sat down on the table excited to eat dig in to his favorite food when he realized this wasn't this wasn't aloo parathe or keema roti..

Gayatri: kya hua prem? Palak achi nahi bani? Veera ki favorite hai'khaas usi ke liye banaye hai..

Prem:kya? Veer ne kaha tha'

Prem looked at his cousin who was enjoying her meal.

Prem: veera tumne..!

Veera saw prems expression and started laughing.

Prem: tumhe to main baad main dekhloonga.

Heer had a long and tiring day. Because she was late she had to do two extra hours.

"You came an hour late today you have to do an hour extra" the head nurse had told her.

"Ok that's fine" Heer replied.

Heer made her way down to the children's ward and checked on her patients.

The room was one of the 3 wards that held children.

Each one of them was cheery and had rainbows, bears, horses and smiles on the walls.

She was only a nurse in training so she didn't really know the details of their illness or treatment. But she was there to tell them stories, help them around a little with their treatment, checked their temperature, gave them their medicines and checked their progress. She had stickers and sometimes candy for any kid who took their medicine or shots without any fuss. The kids loved her and she loved the kids.

After her long 8 hour shift, she gave in her reports changed into a comfortable black tshirt that said GUESS in gold in the middle and some jeans. She was so ready to go home!

She planned to go home take a nice hot bath and relax.

She was a few feet from the entrance when she realized that she had no car, no money for a cab and didn't see any buses around. "How did Meher get home? did Meher tell ma bauji? Were they mad?"

She called Meher and learned that Meher was in the library and told her parents where she was and nothing else. She didn't want to be the only one to take the heat!

Heer hung up and looked shuffled in her purse for some miracle when her phone rang again. as she answered it,it suddenly started pouring. She rain back into the bulidng getting soaked on the way. She turned her attention to her caller and said

"hello"?

On the other side someone cleared their throat and said "yes hello,um this is prem..prem juneja..the one who bumped into your car this morning,is this heer?"

Heer suddenly recalled him and his beautiful eyes. She shook the tough out of her head and said

"ohhh yes yes mr.juneja I remember,and yes this is heer, what can I do for you"

"I actually was wondering if you could give me the number to your lawyer, you know so our lawyers could talk together and sort out all the formalities and such"

"um im sorry I don't have it with me,im not home right now im actually waiting for a ride but when I get there ill surely call you."

Prem glanced at his wrist watch the time was 8:45.

"your still not home"?

"no'I don't have a ride..so im going to ride the bus and be home in about'.an hour?"

Prem looked outside it was lightning and pouring.

"its pouring out side you cant wait in the bus stop?"

Heer laughed a little

" nothing else I can do,and in case you don't remember you and your brother are the reason for me having no ride on a stormy night.." heer said with more bitterness than she intended. Just then a loud clap of thunder made heer jump.

Prem: here why don't I come pick you up?

Heer:what?

Prem: yea I mean it is our fault and id make preet go since its his fault..but hes not here. Are you still in your Univ?

Heer: thank you so much, but ill manage.

Prem: ill be there in about 10 minutes ok?

Heer- I - -

He hung up and she sighed. How was she gonna explain to her parents? She was shivering by now because of her wet clothes.

Heer saw a text message by meher that read:

Di, I got a ride no worries! Get home ASAP, im not taking all the blame!

Her stomach rumbled and realized she was hungry. She got some peanut M&Ms from the vending machine and munched on them until Prem came.

Heer thought about the amazing hazel eyes, and strong jaw and broad shoulders.

She sighed'he was gorgeous she admitted but she hardly knew him and could she trust him? How did she know that he wouldn't take her to his place and force his way with him? She shuddered at the awful thought.

Just then she saw a black Honda car pull up and knew it was prems car. She walked in the rain toward his car

He saw her walking towards him, water dripped down from the long lengths of her hair, she wasn't wearing scrubs like he last saw her. She was wearing casual jeans and a black t-shirt that clung to her body rather snugly because of the rain.

She felt her heart pound faster as she walked towards his car. He rolled down his window and had a grin on his face that made her mouth go dry

"Anyone need a ride,?" Prem asked from the car.

i know it wasnt that amazing!!but i promise it will get better! much much better!
