It took few days but alas everyone forgave her and started taking care of her and her baby''..
But one person who stood by her through thick and thin was Preet'He did everything, which a husband or a father-to-be is supposed to do'Whether it was taking her to her weekly check-ups, or taking care of her weird cravings, or being the sole target of her mood swings'..
In a few months only he became her everything (her friend, her mother, her child's father)'Her life became dependent on him''

He was sitting outside at the bench when a nurse came upto him'..

After handing the forms, he called everyone to inform them about Meher''.
Gayatri, Heer, Prem and the entire Juneja family reached within half n hour to find a very tired and tensed looking Preet pacing up and down in the corridor'.

The lights of the of the OT went off''The doctor came out and said, "Congrats, unhe beti hui hai"
Everyone was elated'
"Mubarak rakho Gayatri tum dadi ban gayi", a super excited Lalit exclaimed'.

All of them were hugging, congratulating each other'Whereas Preet followed the doctor'

Everyone except Preet,who went to clear the formalities,were in the OT enquiring about Meher's health when the Nurse walked in with the baby and handed her to Meher''..
"Haaye, kitni cute hai''.bilkul tumpar gayi hai Meher", Heer said'
"Dekhu toh, aaja beta dadi ke paas", Gaytri said taking the baby in her arms'..
Everyone encircled her and was playing with her''..
"Yeh meri poti ke liye", Lalit said tying a chain around her neck'..
All this was being silently watched by Preet, who stood at the entrance staring longingly at the baby,with tear-filled eyes'He wanted to take her in his arms, play with her'''.
He was so excited while coming towards the room but seeing everyone he suddenly felt out of place''He just realized that he had no relation with the baby'..He was a stranger to her'''..

"Preet dekho idhar", she said holding his face in her hands and looking into his eyes'.."Dekho iski taraf'Kitni khush hai tumhari haatho mein'main janti hun ke tum kabhi galti se bhi isse hurt nahi kar sakte'", she said softly'
He held her carefully'.She looked so soft, so fragile and so innocent to him'How vulnerable she felt'.Unknowingly a tear dropped from his eyes and fell on the baby's cheek slightly stirring her from her deep slumber'.Seeing her move a smile crept on his face''.

Meher was sitting on her bed'while Rhea(Preet named her Rhea) was sleeping on her lap'.
Preet returned from the office and went to her room'..
He came forward and caressed Rhea's cheeks making sure not to wake her up'

"Haan main gol-gol baatein karun toh itni problem hai aur khud ko dekha hai''kam se kam main bol toh rahi hun'..lekin tum'tumhare musse teen shabd nahi nikalte"

(smiling sheepishly)
Meher, smiling but crying at the same time, said'."bus koshish!!!!!!"
"Dekho Rhea ka dad toh main hun hi, aur jahaan tak tumhaara pati hone ki baat hai toh tum meri ex-girlfriends se puchh sakti ho ke mein kitna romantic aur loving hun"
"Preet", smacking his arm and hugging him'''.
