"Balraj. App'.Aap meri bachiyoon ka khayal rakhna." She said as she was breathing her last few breaths.

A tear eyed Balraj could only sit close to his wife and promise to fulfill her last wishes. He held her hand tightly and gave her support.

"Mai sab karunga. Lekin mai tumhare bagair nahi jee sakta Teji." He said as he cried besides her.

"Aap ko karna hoga Balraj. Vaada kijiye ke aap unke Papa nahi, balki dost banenge'Unka acche ke khayal rakhenge'Unhe sahi tereke se jeena sikhayenge'Wada ki jiye'" Teji said as she held out her hand.

Unable to disappoint his lovely wife, Balraj slipped his hand into her hand and gave her the promise of always being there for his daughters, always taking utmost care of them, and always guiding them into what is right and what is wrong in life.

After settling himself on his bed, he pulled Heer and Meher into his lap and gave them a tight hug. Heer was only 7 years-old and Meher was barely 5 years-old. As he tried to console his daughters, he felt Kulraj's warm hand on his shoulder.

Kulraj knew what her father was going through. And so she decided to do what she did best, support him. Balraj pulled his babies close to himself. Teji last wishes ringed in his ears and he decided that from that day on, he will never allow tears into their eyes. He will give them all the strength, all the power, all the affection, and all the love that would lead them a happy life.

Balraj was ready to sacrifice and endure all the pains in the world. But never in the world would he let his babies face any pain in life.

"Mai vaada karta hu Teji. In bachhiyoo ko mai bahot pyaar dunga. Aur unki sahi tarah se parwaris karunga. Aaj se yehi meri zindagi hai" Balraj made a promise to himself.

:: Present Day ::

From the window, she watched as the soft white, crystal petals swayed through the air and caked a clear, white blanket on the arid soil. She could feel the vicious wind attack the wonderful structure of her home with an intruding force. But the cozy comfort of her house kept her protected from the outside.

This was the standard weather condition in Shimla. Every winter, the small town of Shimla would be coated in snow. The weather conditions did create several problems for all the residents in the city. But the beauty of the place took everyone's breath away. The scenery made the resident feel as they were in paradise. The prolonged beauty of the place was beyond their imagination.

She woke up this morning upon hearing her sister shriek his name. She practically threw the blanket off of herself and ran out of the room to see what happened. And when she glanced downstairs from the upstairs hallway, she could swear that she would strangle her sister from scaring her.

Meher was jumping in joy and Balraj was smiling her. When Meher glanced up, she saw her lovely sister, Heer. Her hair was long and shaggy. She was still wearing her teddy bear pajamas which were the same as what she was wearing. And there was an enraging glare that she was giving her for messing up her sleep.

Meher gulped in her joy and plastered her gaze onto her father who had just questioned her.

"Kya hua beta? Kiska phone tha?" Asked Balraj. He was drinking his morning tea in the living room when he heard the phone ring. And when the call was taken, he encountered a loud scream coming from his daughter. He rushed downstairs and found her jumping in.

Meher remembered why she was so excited and a huge grin formed on her face. She launched herself into her father's arms and hugged him tightly.

"Papa. Love bhaiya ka phone tha! Woh India aa rahe hai! Kal hi" Meher spat out in joy.

Balraj's happiness found no bounds.

"Kya? Sach. Prem aa raha hai? Kitna waqt ho gaya usska chehra dekhe huye." Balraj said.

Prem was his best friends Lalit's nephew cum son. But Balraj loved him like his son as well. Prem and Balraj share a certain friendship that is above all. It a father-son friend friendship. When Teji had died, she had asked Balraj to always treat Prem and their son. That wasn't only because Teji was close to Prem, but because Balraj was the only person with whom Prem could open up his feelings. There were just certain things that Prem could share with his Balraj Uncle aka Uncle Raj.

Heer groaned as she heard that.

"God. Abb isse bhi abhi anna tha. Bander kahi kaa. Ughhhhh How much I hate him" Heer murmured to herself.

Meher looked up to see her sister murmuring to herself. She couldn't stop herself from laughing at her poor sister. Whenever her Love bhaiya comes, they both team up and irritate the heck out of Heer.

But deep down, she knew that there was something that existed between the two of them. Something really strong, really powerful. The way that her Didi looked at him when he wasn't looking made her believe so.

Love bhaiya oh the other hand was like a sugary cheesecake. Meher knew that he loved her sister to no limits. He was madly in love with her since they were little. But after Prem and his family moved to London for their expansion of business, she could only find the love between them increase.

Even though they never let out their soft side in front of each other, she knew that it still existed. And there is no end to the love that they secretly share for each other. Now the only thing missing was their confession to each other.

Meher was waiting for the day they both would confess. At least then, they would stop communicating through her.
