Called SP Mumbai today. Asked for the response dept and told the receptionist that before you transfer my call make sure that there is someone to pick up my call otherwise don't bother and waste my time and money. Spoke to a girl called Charmaine (?) in the response dept. for once she gave her name (and of course also asked for mine). I told her that I have called many times before about KDMHMD and tried to explain to them our difficulties with the change in time slot. I told her that yesterday the show aired at 2:30 pm, 3:30 am and 8:30am and that I was not able to watch it at all since I work. I asked her that as she too works is she able to watch TV at any of these times, that is she not at work in day, sleeping at 3:30am and getting ready and going to work in the morning or is she free to watch tv. She agreed. So I told her that in other words SP basically needs you to be doing nothing to be able to watch the show coz there is not a single time slot when it airs that we can watch. In other words they have gone out of their way to ensure that the bulk of the current viewership of this show (barring a small number) cannot watch the show at all at any time, that the show will have to develop a completely new viewership for it to continue. This is not a new show, its been running for over a year, so the afternoon viewers are not clued into the story why should completely new viewers suddenly get so interested in it. So the show is bound to fail in this time slot. I told her that if they want to axe the show why don't have the guts to just go ahead and do it then? Why are they playing games with the viewers? She said it is not like that, it is part of a programming revamp. So I told that the target of programming I thought is the viewers. I said I know the bottomline is money but that doesn't that ultimately come from viewership or does SP regard viewers as irrelevant in the scheme of things? I told her that you have got enough calls by now to have an idea about the profile of the viewership of this show and yet you have gone ahead and made sure that they can never watch it at any time, not even the repeats? I said I have personally called several times and spent my money to do so as I am not calling from Mumbai, I said I have never been rude or abusive and tried to genuinely explain our concerns but have had a very unsatisfactory response. I said we have to waste 10 calls before we can speak to somebody once, people have got rude answers, or standard replies. I said even when I have managed to speak to some one it is as good as talking to an IVRS automated service for all the response that we get and all this while we have been given the same reply as I am being given today. I said people have even been rudely to told to watch online. I said if that is your response why do we need to watch anything on your channel at all and waste our money subscribing to it? We can watch anything we want on youtube!!!! I said you show no promos of the show at all for months and all of a sudden you start showing promos about time change in full swing while at the same time telling viewers that the matter is being considered? Do your actions give any credibility at all to your words? At least you could have held off on the time change promos for a while that would have made your story more believable!! I said just as it is very easy for you to cut off our calls or give some answer as a sop to just get us off the line, it is just as easy for us to press a button on the remote and not watch Star Plus. That this is not a one way street! If you don't care about our views and treat them with such disdain and condescension we don't need to show any loyalty to your channel too. Instead of appreciating viewer loyalty, after all people are spending money and calling you from all over and how many bother to do this, you put all your effort in ignoring theirs views? Is SP's ego so big that they think it is a sign of weakness or beneath them to at least honestly hear what their viewers feel (forget about acting on it!). would not be better to have put that same energy in to listening for a change? I said it was not programming rocket science to have atleast kept some time when we could have watched it, at least people would have not felt so cheated and ignored. I said since you have clearly demonstrated over the last many days that we are wasting our breadth talking to you, I also want to tell you that me and all my friends have decided not to waste our time and money on your channel any further. Until we can watch our favourite at a time when it is possible for us to watch it WE SHALL NOT BE WATCHING STAR PLUS AT ALL!!! WE ARE BOYCOTTING YOUR CHANNEL AND LIKE ALL OUR OTHER MESSAGES PLEASE CONVEY THIS TOO TO THE "CONCERNED PEOPLE"!!!!!!!!!
