Thank you all for your kind words. I am glad you liked it. Here is part two. I hope you like it.
Part 2
Delhi
"Chahu! Chahu! Look at me! I'm the king of the world!" screamed a young boy sitting on a tree branch. "Aditya! Get down from there! You will hurt yourself! Preet, how can you let him climb up there? If Heer didi saw this, she would kill us!" said a woman while taking her nephew down from the tree. "Oh Meher, you worry too much. I was just like this when I was a little kid. I used to climb on tress all the time. I turned out ok right?" replied her husband.
"Oh goodness, please don't start your bickering again." Said a smiling, tall, thin girl in a simple sari. "Now I know where my son gets it from. Come on, lets eat. Ash and Aakash have gotten the food ready." She said while taking her son into her arms. "Sweet, food. Oh Heer bhabhi, you don't know how hungry I am." Replied Preet. "Oh, I think we all have a little inkling." She laughed. They started walking over to where Ash and Aakash were. This picnic had been Aditya's idea. Heer's little bundle of joy that was 4 years and 4 months old. No one, not Preet, Meher, Ash, or Aakash could say no to their nephew, so they all decided to go on the picnic. While looking at her happy family, she couldn't help but reminisce about all that they had gone through five years ago.
That night, after returning from their picnic, Heer put Aditya to sleep and went downstairs to see Ashlesha waiting for her. "It's been five years today Ash. Five years. Can you believe how much changed in those five years." Comforting her cousin and best friend, "I know Heer, things are so different today. But we are definitely better off. That house never cared about you, even after all you did for them. They didn't deserve you and you didn't deserve the hell they put you through." Heer felt a tear trickle down her face. "However true that may be, Ash, I still miss Prem and wish Aditya had his father in his life. Anyways, goodnight Ash. Get some sleep. It's Preet and Meher's surprise party tomorrow. We have a lot to do?" With that, Heer left to go to sleep. All Ash could do was remember that fateful night.
In her room, Ash opened her diary. She had started writing it almost immediately after everything with Heer happened. She started reading it.
Dear Diary,
I can't believe all that has happened the last couple of days. When I saw Heer motionless on the ground the other day, I was scared out of my mind. First, I find out Veera had died, then Prem kicks Heer out of the house, and now Heer was unconscious on the ground. She was all I had left. I couldn't let anything happen to her. She had given me a roof even though the rest of the family thought against it. I quickly took Heer to a nearby hospital where she was admitted. They told me she was critical because she hadn't eaten in a couple of days. I sat in the hospital that night, when I got a call from Meher. She frantically asked me if I knew where Heer was because she had just found out that Prem had kicked her out. I told her that I was at the hospital with Heer and that she should come right away. Once there, the doctor told us to take care of Heer as she was pregnant and needed the correct nutrition. It was then that Preet decided that they too would move out of that hell-hole. They left without telling anyone in the middle of the next night. In the meantime, when Heer awoke, she first said Prem's name. We were all so devastated for her. She cried and cried until Preet finally lost it and told her about the baby she was carrying. We thought about informing Prem, but Preet was totally against it. I had never seen him so angry. That too against his brother. Preet and Prem had always been inseparable. The Ram and Lakshman of the Juneja family. But Preet totally trusted and respected his bhabhi and couldn't dare anyone raising a finger at her. Even if it was his Ram. We have decided to move to Delhi tomorrow where Preet's friend lives. There, we will find shelter until we get back on our feet?
Ashlesha shut the diary. She couldn't read anymore. That was all she could take. Trembling and sobbing, she threw the diary to the other side of the room, where it landed by Meher's feet. Meher had seen Ash's light on and came to check on her. As Ash felt a hand on her shoulder, she cried "It's been five years today, Meher. Five years since that horrible day. I still can't bring myself to remember it all. After all Heer went through in her life, she couldn't even find happiness in her marriage. I can't believe all that happened to her. How is she still so strong?" All Meher could do was console her cousin as she had no answers to her questions. When the tears finally subsided, Ash felt the need to say one more thing. "Thank you for being there with me, Meher. Thank you for forgiving me and trusting that I had not come back to take Preet away from you. All I've wanted was a family and today, I have one because of you. Thank you." Surprised, Meher lightly slapped Ash on the check "Silly, don't thank me. I only did what I knew was right. Once I saw your care for Heer didi, I knew you were sincere. Now look at you today. You have a wonderful fianc, Aakash. I'm just glad you are happy. Now come on, go to sleep. You need to get some rest."
Aakash had been their savior. He was Preet's friend in Delhi and while living with him, Ash fell in love with him. The two of them got engaged two months ago and the wedding was to be at the end of this year. December 19th to be exact. That was the day they met and Aakash insisted that be the date of their marriage.
While in bed, Heer felt a slight tug at her heart. "I hope Prem is ok. The last time I felt this uneasy?no, I can't remember that time. It will only bring back the pain I have subsided. Still, I will always love him and hope he is alright." She thought before drifting off to sleep.
Juneja House
Prem had just gotten off a phone call with Rajveer. Raj was on his honeymoon and their final stop was Delhi. He would be coming home soon and promised to continue their search for Heer. Raj had just gotten married to a wonderful girl named Suhani. They were perfect together, "just like Heer and I had been" he thought to himself. Tears started to form in his eyes and he once again cried himself to sleep as he had almost every night for the past five years.
Early in the morning, Prem was awoken to a similar voice.
Om Jaye Jagdish Hare, Swami Jaye Jagdish Hare
Prem's yes shot open. That was his Heer's voice. He went running out of his room, following the voice.
Bhagt Jano Ke Sankat, Khshan Mein Dur Kare ...
Jo Dhaywe Phal Pave, Dukh Vinshe Man Ka
Prem went scrambling trying to find the voice. He finally stopped at the temple and realized it was yet again just his imagination. He awoke like this almost every morning. Dejectedly, he stepped into the shower and got ready for another day of work.
Back in Delhi
Om Jaye Jagdish Hare, Swami Jaye Jagdish Hare
Bhagt Jano Ke Sankat, Khshan Mein Dur Kare ...
Jo Dhaywe Phal Pave, Dukh Vinshe Man Ka
Sukh Sampati Ghar Aave, Kasht Mite Tan Ka ...
Maat-Pita Tum Mere, Sharan Gahun Kiskee
Tum Bin Aur Na Duja, Aas Karun Jiskee ...
Tum Puran Parmatma, Tum Antaryami
Par-Brahm Parmeshwar, Tum Sabke Swami ...
Tum Karuna Ke Saagar, Tum Palankarta
Mein Moorakh Khal Kami, Mein Sewak Tum Swami,
Kripa Karo Bharta ...
Tum Ho Ek Agochar, Sabke Pran Pati
Kis Vidhi Milun Dayamay, Tumko Mein Kumti ...
Deenbandhu Dukh Harta, Thakur Tum Mere
Apne Hath Badao, Apni Sharan Lagao,
Dwar Para Tere ...
Vishay Vikaar Mitao, Paap Haro Deva
Shradha Bhakti Barao, Santan Ki Sewa ...
Tan Man Dhan, Sab Hai Tera
Tera Tujhko Arpan, Kya Lage Mera ...
As Heer finished the aarti, she turned around to find her whole family praying. Smiling, she gave each one aarti and prasad. This was how everyone awoke in the morning. No one needed an alarm clock. Their alarm clock was their pyari Heer. Once the aarti would start, everyone would trickle down and begin their day by praying. Once giving the aarti to Aditya, Meher, Preet, and Ash, she would take the aarti and give it to the pictures of her in-laws, Prem, and the rest of the family. Even after all they had done to her, she respected them. Preet had not even looked at the pictures that were put up. Not once did he even mention their name and if anyone's name had been mentioned, he got up and walked out of the room in anger. That anger was shared by Meher and Ash, but not Heer. She still respected them and wished the best for them. And so started another day in the life of Heer and her family.
That is all for today. I hope you like it. Please let me know how it was. 😛
