PART 2
"Preet, i'll set out your clothes, why don't you go and take a shower?" Meher finally broke the silence, which meant Preet had to move from his current, and very comfortable position...and found himself protesting the idea in his mind. Meher had now reverted her eyes downwards once again, and Preet found himself in awe of her pure innocence.
His hands were gently placed on her waist, and Preet's fingers tingled with a sensation that was unfamiliar, one that somehow created a jolt in his heart. And then another. What was happening to him?
"ummmm...Meher, i didn't mean to..." Preet's voice trailed off as he realised he didn't quite know how to finish his sentence. In all honesty, he was not at all sorry, and his heart was simply refusing his mind's pleads to release Meher from his grip.
"No Preet...maybe i shouldn't have startled you like that" She glanced at him, and gave him her trademark sweet smile, reassuring him that she was not at all upset with him. Her heart was still racing, though she managed to regain composure over her voice.
Preet laughed nervously, with the hint of mischief that never left his face, the laugh that made Meher's cheeks red the moment she heard it.
Finally she rose up, and escaped his grip, whist Preet quietly headed towards the bathroom. Preet was now in the safety of the shower, and Meher facing the heat of the stove in front of her, both lost in the event that occured a few moments ago. They felt a reslessness within them, as well as deep confusion.
"Meher, is the tea coming any time soon" asked Heer, as she enterd the kitchen, wondering what was taking so long.
"Oh, sorry Heer Di, it's ready" With that, Heer hurried back to the Juneja family sitting at the dining table, and left meher to firstly breathe a sigh of relief, roll her eyes due to frustration of her own creation and lastly follow her sister into the dining room.
Preet clambered down the steps of the Juneja mansion, firsty to face the wrath of his bauji.
" Ah...and here comes his lordship, where have you been?, we've been awaiting you arrival for half an hour"
"Sorry Bauji, i was spending some time taking care of my beautiful locks, you wouldnt understand not having any of your own". Preet replied, not bothering to sit down, as he knew his father would be on his heels in a matter of seconds.
And so he was. However, he had not anticipated Meher's entrance from the kitchen, with a tray holding many cups of tea. Before anyone could register what happened, Preet ran into Meher, the tray went flying, and Meher found herself falling rapidly. Until she suddenly stopped. She was quite sure she had not hit the floor, yet had not aquired her balance. Her eyes were shut tightly, as she begun to realise that someone had caught her...and she was sure it was Preet.
