Firstly, you used the cuffs idea! 😆 And I love the guys man, they are too cute. All three of them. And I agree with all three girls. Hrithik's dance moves, John's body and Shahid's looks. Ooh, combine the three and you have my perfect man! Plus, a decent singing voice though. 😆
Yeah, well, I didn't know why else Prem would call Heer...😆 Oh my don't get me drooling! 😳
Loved it B!
Thanks!...When did you start calling me 'B'? >.<
Love,
Radz

Hey guys! I would suggest not reading this, because it's seriously depressing, and if I hadn't just had chocolate ice cream (INACONE!!!) and if I wasn't watching Ellen and just totally amused by that, I would probably be close to tears. This was very hard to write, and regardless of whether or not the rumours are true, I'm only going to allow Preet to die if I write him dying. So now you know what it's about. It's entirely your decision if you want to read it or not.

Vaada

"Main keh rahi hoon, Nihaal Bhaiya aisa nahin kar sakta! Woh Veera se pyaar karta tha, Preet! Woh apne premi ko kyun jalaa lega?" Meher asked Preet, frustrated that their…loud conversation…was getting nowhere.

"Meher, tumhe yaad nahin hai ki Veera ko abuse kar ke Nihaal ne uska miscarriage karaya?" Preet shot back.

"I can't believe you're bringing this up again, Preet!" Meher turned away from him, massaging her temples, which were now throbbing.

Preet grabbed her arm and spun her around to face him. "Do you think I can forget how your brother caused my baby sister to lose her first child?"

Meher wrenched her arm free of his grip. "Did you think that maybe it wasn't his fault? That maybe your darling sister did something that made Nihaal lash out at her? I swear on my life, Preet, Nihaal would never hurt Veera!"

Preet's face twisted, turning into a look of pure rage that Meher had never seen before. It terrified her, but she stood her ground.

"How dare you even insinuate that my sister…" His hands curled into fists.

"Oh, and it's perfectly fine if you accuse my brother of killing his wife?" Meher shot back in indignation. She threw her hands up, turning away. "You're incredible, Preet."

Kulraaj entered their room, her face flushed. "Preet, Meher, Heer ko roko! She's leaving the house!"

Both turned to her.

"She's leaving? Good. Main bhi unke saath jaati hoon." Meher went to her cupboard and threw a couple of clothes into a suitcase.

"Jaao! Apne didi ke saath jaao!" Preet said sarcastically.

Kulraaj looked at Preet, horrified, as Meher left the room, heading for the hall. "Preet, yeh tum kya keh rahe ho?" she asked. "Meher aur Heer dono jaa rahe hain aur tum aur Prem…Oh god! Tum dono ko kya hua hai?"

Kulraaj turned away from him. If neither Prem nor Preet would stop Heer and Meher, then she would have to.

-||-

Preet sank down on his bed, burying his face in his hands. He couldn't understand what had just transpired. He looked around the room.

Was Meher really gone? She hadn't taken all her things, so Preet couldn't quite absorb the fact that she was gone.

She can't be gone, he thought, panic setting in. He stood up. She can't be gone.

Adrenalin surged through his body as he ran out of the room. "Kulraaj Di!" he hollered. "Kulraaj Di!"

He ran down the stairs. Maybe she was in the hall.

True enough, there she stood, alone, her shoulders slumped in defeat, the remnants of her tears on her cheeks.

Preet slowed down as he reached her. "Kuldi?" he asked softly.

"Woh dono chale gaye, Preet," she answered, her eyes still on the door. "Chale gaye."

Preet's heart stopped. "Nahin. Meher kahin nahin jaa sakti."

Kulraaj turned to him, anger flashing in her eyes. "You let her go!" she screamed, pushing him. "Agar tumne usse rukne ko kahaa toh woh maan jati!" Big fat tears rolled down her cheeks again. "Lekin tumne usse jaane ko kaha? Tumne usse jaane kyun diya, Preet? Kyun?"

He hugged her as she broke down completely, unable to fight back his own tears.

"Woh kahaan chali gayi, Di? Main…main usse waapas le aata hoon," he promised. "Jab tak Meher iss ghar mein waapas nahin aati, main bhi nahin aaonga."

"Woh…Nihaal ka ghar hai na? Dono…dono wahaan gayi hain. Please, Preet, dono ko ghar waapas le aao," she begged him, looking up at him.

He hugged her tighter. "Main vaada karta hoon, di. I'll bring them back."

-||-

Heer and Meher stepped into Nihaal's house. It had been empty for days now, ever since Nihaal had been taken to jail.

Neither Heer nor Meher had spoken on the ride there. Neither had wanted to leave, yet circumstances had forced both to make the same decision.

They looked at each other now. Silently, they made their way to the room they had shared the last time they were there.

Silently, they set their suitcases down on the floor. Heer went to the cupboard and pulled out fresh sheets. She silently went to the bed and began laying the sheets out.

Meher went to the kitchen. She rummaged around in the cupboards and finally pulled out two glasses. She filled them with water and returned to the room, where Heer had finished with the bed.

"Di, paani."

Heer took the water gratefully, casting a smile in Meher's direction. Meher returned the smile.

They sat on the bed in silence for a moment.

"Main…main so jaati hoon," Heer told Meher.

Meher nodded.

As Heer lay down on the bed, her cell phone rang. She grabbed it, hoping against hope that it was Prem. "Hello?"

Her heart sank as she heard Kulraaj's voice on the line.

"Kya?"

Meher looked up, frowning. The tone of Heer's voice frightened her. Heer looked at her, the colour drained from her face.

"Hum abhi aate hain," Heer told Kulraaj, then hung up.

She looked down at her phone.

"Di, kya hua?" Meher asked.

Heer bit her lip. How was she supposed to tell Meher that?

"Di?" Meher put her hand on her sister's shoulder.

Heer looked at Meher, taking a deep breath. "Preet ka accident hua hai."

-||-

Heer followed Meher into the hospital, begging her sister to slow down, trying to grab her hand.

But Meher could hear nothing but Heer's voice saying that Preet had gotten into an accident. She all but ran along the corridors, looking for Preet in every room. As she drew nearer to the operating theatre, she noticed the Junejas there.

Kulraaj looked up at the frantic footsteps. "Meher!" She ran to her sister-in-law and hugged her.

"Kuldi, Preet kahaan hai?" Meher asked.

"Woh ab tak andar hai," Kulraaj informed her as Heer finally caught up to them. Kulraaj pulled the two sisters nearer to the family as the doctor came out of the OT, a somber look on his face.

"Doctor, Preet kaisa hai?" Prem asked, Gayatri holding on to his arm for support.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Juneja. Humne apni taraf se poori koshish ki, lekin hum Preet ko nahin bacha sake."

Meher's legs gave away. She sank onto the floor, Kulraaj unable to support her. She could hear the doctor saying something, but the only voice she heard now was the doctor's voice, repeating the words he had just said.

Hum Preet ko nahin bacha sake. Hum Preet ko nahin bacha sake. Hum Preet ko nahin bacha sake.

It was her fault, she realized. It was her fault that Preet was…If she hadn't left the house, then Preet wouldn't have come looking for her, and he wouldn't have gotten into the accident, and he wouldn't be…

She struggled to breathe, realizing that she was crying.

Kulraaj and Heer shook Meher, trying to bring her back from wherever Meher had lapsed into.

"Meher, it wasn't your fault!" Heer repeated, with Kulraaj repeating the same mantra.

But Meher wasn't listening to anyone. The tears stopped and she stopped moving as her lips formed the words 'he's dead', making it real for her.

Preet was gone and he was never coming back.

Special thanks to Radz for proofing this for me. She asked me if they ever got to tell each other that they love each other, so I'm gonna say no. Here's the backstory, which I probably should have put at the top: it's after today's episode; Nihaal is in jail after being accused of killing Veera, and Meher and Heer are at odds with their husbands because both parties are adamant about Nihaal's innocence and guilt respectively. So while Preet and Meher are arguing, so are Heer and Prem. Then Heer leaves, and so on...

Love,

Bhav (:

Thanks a lot B, now I have a FF idea that won't leave me alone.

*sigh*

You know what I thought about this. Thank God I have coffee to look forward to, else I'd be bawling my eyes out. I didn't mention this, but this bit was my favourite:

She struggled to breathe, realizing that she was crying.

That line, was my ultimate favourite. *sighs* Brilliant as usual Bhav.

Radz

@ Ravz: Haha...You should try chamomile tea! Or warm milk. Apparently warm milk helps. Or hey, just read Great Expectations! Worked wonders for me and my classmates...🤣 Especially coupled with cough syrup...
