Heer regained consciousness after 10 hours. prem had gone to buy medicines for her when she opened her almond shaped eyes. Looking around the room she discovered that she was in a hospital. Who brought her here? She thought confused. Looking at her wrists, which were heavily bandaged she tried to remember what had happened but nothing registered. Her mind was blank. She was sill trying to figure out what was happening when a nurse entered the room. " Good afternoon ma'am", the kindly nurse greeted her.

" What am I doing here?" she asked the nurse in hope of a satisfactory answer." You are in South City Hospital ma'am; your husband brought you here at one in the morning, you were in a very critical condition, he was just in time else we wouldn't have been able to save you", she replied, taking notes from the beeping machines which were attached to her body through various tubes. But nothing registered to heer except the word husband and everything came rushing back to her, she remembered seeing her prem shaking hands with rishab rampal and his real identity was Gaurav Sharma…. She remembered going to shiv mandir and asking god why had he done this to her… after that she couldn't remember anything. " Gaurav brought me here", she said her hands clenched into fists as a boiling rage took over her." No ma'am your husband brought you here, surely you know his name; Mr. Prem Juneja brought you here", the nurse answered. " Mr. Prem was frantic with worry about you, I have never seen anyone like him before. He took the hospital by storm when he arrived carrying you in his arms, his arms were badly wounded too, took us a lot of convincing to let us stitch his wounds up, quite deep gashes, I must say", she added shaking her head. " How's that possible? Gaurav and save me? He would never do that. He loves his money more than anything", she muttered furiously under her breath. " I am sorry ma'am, what did you say", the nurse inquired politely. " Nothing, where is he?" she asked, finding trouble in keeping her voice even. " Oh he went out just five minutes ago to get your medicines, you lie down now, I have to change your dressings... He will be back soon don't you worry, he will be so happy that you finally regained consciousness after 10 hours. The poor boy was always by your side crying and praying for you to be all right… you are very lucky I must say, wish my husband loved me like that", she said wistfully while opening her bandages.

What did she say? That he was crying for me? She has gone nuts! That bas***d would never do that!! He only cared for his 5 crores!! O yeah he was probably crying because his jackpot had suddenly decided to empty itself! She thought spitefully. I HATE HIM! She winced as the nurse tightened the bandage on her left arm, tapping it up. " Well I am all done here. You need rest ma'am. Mr. prem will be here soon. Good day to you", she said leaving the room. Feeling something against her neck, she glanced down only to find a beautiful mangulsutra adorned with diamonds, there. She was wearing the mangulsutar which ma had shown to her when she was about to get married to prem telling her that this mangulsutra was a family heirloom, passed from generation to generation. Her mother in law had gifed it to her when she married Lalit and now she wanted to give it to heer. But prem had died in an accident and with him every dream just vanished. When he came back everything happened so quickly and Gayatri was not well enough to gift it to her properly as her mother in law. Where did Gaurav find it? Only prem knew where ma kept her precious jewels she thought, puzzled as she fingered the beautiful piece of jewel.

But her mind was becoming fuzzy again and all of a sudden she felt tired. Leaning her head against the soft pillow, she closed her eyes. Silent tears ran down her face as she remembered prem… her only love and cried herself to sleep.

" Damn it!! Why wasn't I here when she woke up!" prem said frustrated, running his hand through his hair. " I am sorry Mr. Prem but she's still weak and this happens with all the patients, they cant stay conscious for long when they are given heavy sedatives", she calmly replied to him." Hmm, how was she feeling when she woke up?" he asked the nurse eagerly. " She wasn't feeling very well, it looked like as if she was in pain", the nurse informed him. " Pain? What kind of pain? Were her wrists hurting her?" he asked, all happiness gone from his face. " No, she looked disturbed and when I told her that your husband Mr. Prem brought you here so she became furious and didn't take your name instead she said some one named Gaurav brought you here ", she answered. His face turned pale as everything came rushing back to him. He had difficulty breathing as the truth hit him. Now he knew why heer had tried to kill herself " Leave us alone", he said his voice barely above a whisper…

" Okay sir… sorry", she said hurrying out of the room. He banged his fist hard against the wall and slid down the floor. She must have had followed me when I when to talk to Rishab, he thought with a broken heart. God why did this have to happen? He thought burying his face in his hands… mei tou rishab ke samne acting karaha tha… gaurav banne ki aur heer ne kia kia soch lia. He now understood why she had tried to kill herself. " I hate myself! It's all my fault. I should have told her what I was doing! If I had than none of this would have happened! Meri heer kabi bi esa na karti phir! Kyun hua ye sab?" He cried. " I'll never forgive myself! Ajj meri waja se heer ne apni jaan lene ki koshish ki. Mei kabi nai maaf karpao ga apne app ko!! I wanted to take revenge from rishab rampal for what he did to my family and heer. I knew that if I had told this to anyone especially heer than she would have stopped me from doing this. She loves me too much to loose me again! But I had to!! I wanted to make that ba****d suffer just like the way he made my family suffer! I wanted to destroy him! To remove his very existence from this world …but… heer… mein apne se kese aanken mila pao ga ke uski halat ka sirf aur sirf mein zimmedar ho?? Jiss ko mene is duniya mein sab se bhar kar chaha.. jis ka pyar aur khushi meri ibadat hai ajj usi ko moot ke moo mei daal dia?? Ajj usi ko zindagi ka sabse bara dhakam dedia! He cried. He couldn't let her image of lying on the floor of shiv mandir out of his mind. I have to make everything right he thought determined. He stood up and taking a last look at her, he headed towards the doctor's room.

" Prem I must tell you that heer has gone through a lot… she committed suicide for god sake! A case could be filed against you… claiming you to be the reason of it! It hasn't until now because lalit is my old friend and you are like my son.. I know that you wouldn't do anything to her to make her do that. There's a big misunderstanding", he said. " I know uncle and it is my fault! I thought that I was doing the right thing by not telling her but look what happened.. My love tried to kill herself because she believed that I am not her prem.. it is my fault ", prem replied looking out of the window. " no its not your fault. When you told me everything I realized it immediately that what happened was due to a big misunderstanding so don't blame yourself. You were doing the right thing. It's a good thing that I got back from Mumbai just in time to stop things turning ugly else the police would have arrested you by now", he said.

" They should have. I deserved it", prem replied furiously banging his hand on the wall. " I should be punished. I don't deserve to live. Agar mein deer se poachta tou?" His voice clogged as he fell on his knees, crying. " prem stop this right now! Listen to me! Heer is making a good recovery. If things go in your favour then she will be well in a day. Take her to your farmhouse just like you told preet and then tell her the truth. She loves you. She will understand", he advised holding prem by his shoulders making him stand up.

" You are right. The sooner I tell her the truth the better" he said in a grim voice. " Good, I'll get the discharge papers ready and you can take her tomorrow. Ill prescribe you her medicines and she will be well in no time. Till then cheer up and get some rest. You have to make a long journey tomorrow", he replied patting him on his back like a father. " Okay uncle, I feel I little better now", prem smiled. " That's my boy. By the way how are your stitches coming along?" he questioned. " I don't care. They are nothing compared to he pain that I have given her ", he replied the smile disappearing from his face. " ahan okay than go off now and think positively", Dr. Kumar replied understanding what the young man was going through. " Good night".
