Walking past the main hallway Preet caught gaze of this annoucement posted by Mr. Prashar. I halted to take a look at the notice. It mentioned something about some competition.

"Not interested Preet."

Just then Rishabh and his brother walked up from behind. Rishabh was chewing his gum in an ever so annoying matter again. Something like "Kahin pe gighayeen, Kahi pe goome hai mouth". But then again, he was Rishabh Rampal and he was known for doing freakishly freaky things since kindergarten.

Rampal ke bacche jab dekho chane ya chewing gum khaate rehte ho bechaare ke paas choclate khareedne ke paise nahi hai kya???😉

Ratpal placed his right hand on my right shoulder and circled around me so he was standing on my left side.

His dragon ka most zerox copy brother Dheera stood behind him..as if guarding him. Ratpal and protection? Kab se?

"So Mr. Prem Juneja, you scared?"

I took his arm off my shoulder and did the same thing he did to me. I circled my arm around his shoulder and gave him a big smile.

"Prem Juneja and scared? You must be kidding me right?"

"Oh really? Then why aren't you competiting in the 2009 JM College Band Contest?"

"Because I am not a sucker like you and if Prem doesn't like something, he is not forced into it either because once Prem kisi cheez ko karne ki thaan leta hai, then no one can stop him"

"Oh really? Then let's have a bet. Who ever wins, which will obviously be MY band, can make the loosing band their servants for a whole week and can have thier way in everything"

"Says who? A looser like you who chews gum like a stupid idiot? Ya...very much for that"

"Fine then, lets make it a deal. The winning band can make the other band do anything."

I thought for a moment.

"Fine. Deal"👏kudos 4 👏prem

"Ooh...bad choice Prem. But then again, I would love to see you loose"

Ratpal had a broad grin on his face while I broke down laughing. I let my hand go off his shoulder and started to circle around him as I talked.

"Rishabh, Rishabh, Rishabh. How the heck do you get all these bakwaas jokes? And here you are talking about winning a band contest. Tum kya din mein taare dekhte ho?"

"Tumhe kaise pata chala?"🤣🤣🤣

He sounded confused and Preet, Harman-Nihaal-The 2 sidekicks(Who had recently joined the discussion) and I started laughing while Rishabh and Dheerwolfe looked embarrssed.

Ratpal didn't say anything else, so I continued to talk.

"And by the way, who said we aren't competiting? We are and this time, dekhoge tum how WE win."

I pointed my thumb at my chest. Ratpal started laughing and clapping his hands.

"Wow Prem. But I suggest you look at the announcement once again. Will be very helpful for you."

Confused, I looked back at the notice.

It said:

2009 JM College Band Hunt Contest

Date: January 30th, 2009

Time: 2:30pm

Participants: Maximum 5 members per band

A MUST: Lead singer HAS to be a girl

Be sure to join!

I turned back and faced Ratpal.

"So? We do have a lead singer. Sanjana"

"Oh Prem. Did I forget to tell you that Sanjana has already decided to join MY band as the lead singer. So better luck next time"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't tell me that you don't know. I heard Mr. Prashar talking about it yesterday, so I asked Sanjana to sing for MY band and she said yes."

"But that is cheating. You should be disqualified"

"Everything is fair in love and war...and consider this a war my friend and now if you insist. I will go and practice with MY band's lead singer Sanjana while you hunt down for yours."

He walked right passed me and his wolf brother followed.

"Wait"

We both turned and looked at each other.

"Best of luck"

I gave him a big smile and he seemed surprised by my attitude. I bet that he was wondering if this was another one of my secret moves to destory his band😆"

He didn't say another word and left. As he left, Preet came and placed his hand on my shoulder and stood beside me.

"What do we do now PB? Challenge toh kar diya"

"Let's do one thing. Let's take auditions of all girls in this college to see who is a good singer. Ek toh mil hi jaye gi and we need a singer chosen by the end of this week."
