Salaam – Namastae

We all love food and most of us love cooking….but there are a few who love food but don't want to spend more than half hour in the kitchen😆

I am one of them and I must admit that I am plain lazy😳………..I love cooking occasionally, but this daily cooking is a headache for me……..I don't live in India, so ordering from nearby restaurant or keeping a cook is out of question😭

I am a married woman, so I have to cook food everyday………..to cope with this situation, I have invented several short-cuts and tips that helps me in cooking delicious food without much fuss.

I am going to share some of my quick recepies and tips😃 …..All of these are from my experience and experiments😛

Since I am primarily a vegetarian, so all my quick recepies are vegetarian . For non-veg, I follow traditional long recepies , so I won't be able to help you if you are a primarily non-veg person….

Please post your own time-saving tips and recepies here and PM me if there is any confusion:

My first Recepie is called " No sweat Chole"/ Pressure cooker does it all....

Ingredients:

250 g chana, soaked overnight

2 medium onions, cut longitudinally

Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon or longitudinally cut Ginger and Garlic

Tomatoes – 2 roughly chopped or 1 table spoon puree

Chana masala – 1 tea spoon

Red chilli powder – tea spoon

Dhania Powder – 1 tea spoon

Cumin powder tea spoon

Turmeric powder- tea spoon

Salt

In Pressure cooker, put Chana, onion cut longitudinally, chopped Ginger and garlic or GG paste, salt, cumin powder. Presure cook till chana are done…usually it is 3 -4 whistles. Keep aside

In a seperate bowl, mix Chana Masala, red chilli powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder. Add some water and make a thick paste. Keep aside.

In a non-stick kadai or pan, heat 2 spoons of oil. Put Jeera when it crackles, add the thick masala paste to it and stir . Now add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Then add contents of pressure cooker to this. Let it boil for 5 mins . Garnish with green coriander and serve.

Variation : You can do Rajma, Kala chana, Dried peas and black eye beans or any other type beans....... using the same recepie.

Watch this space for more quick recepies and tips.....Feedback awaited

Lazy tip 1

This recepie can be used to make dried green peas also. You can serve peas with Pav.......so no need to worry about Chapati/Roti/Puri......

While serving.....keep Curd, Tamarind sauce and some namkin or Chivda.......all of it can be mixed in the Pea curry and can be eaten with Pav
