Heyy, you really come up with very interesting and thought provoking post. Keep it up Veena.
Being an oncologist, have seen too much of pain and death. The heart break the family goes through is sometimes unbearable. But alas as it is rightly said life does not stop for anyone, it goes on.

I remember the first patient I lost, took it very badly and gave up medicine for 6 months or so. But my husband, who is in the same profession and more practical and less emotional than me and my HOD made me understand that I am not God, down the line, I will loose some and save some and to try my best.

After sooo many years, down the road, I can say that I try to distance myself, sometimes I am successful, but many times I am not. To deal with my pain, I go into my shell and start meditating more. I am a follower of art of living, which helps me to stay sane in my crazy world.
