To be honest, some parents won't budge no matter what.

No matter how long you wait out they will never agree. If they have a set mind against someone for their caste, class or upbringing they will never change their mind.
In that case, I say go for it.

hi my dear ifs and buts...😊

tell me...since there are a lot of youngsters as well here...

should saachi and dv elope and marry against the wishes of their parents/elders?

i don't think so, i mean I'm young too but i won't elope with my love, when my parents disagree,

This question always seems to follow me around in so many forums! I have been in this situation, where my parents said no but I did not elope nor will I do so. It is hard when you really really love someone and want to live with only them forever. My life is like a Hindi movie, depressing at times. But only way is to make my parents understand. Eloping is not a question. Everyone must respect your relationship like you respect yours.

hmmm... kanika...first of all, thank you for being so candid... Really appreciate it...👏

i guess you are the right person to give an opinion on this topic, because you are going through a similar situation at the moment... i really admire your patience, all the more if you are financially independent 👍🏼.. because you have the capacity to live on your own but have chosen not to.. hats off to you...👏

hmmm... asha ...😊...you have hit the nail on the head...

well , i...agree with you... provided the both the individuals concerned are financially independent...only then it may be possible... if ,even one is weak, then problems may crop up down the line... i have instances to narrate about such type of marriages gone horribly wrong... but i plan to make a separate post on that later...

here in dv's case , i too felt that his parents acted in haste...
