Mere Paas "Bond" Hai...!!!
Gone are the days when parents wanted their kids to become doctors, engineers, scientists or writers. Today, everyone wants their very own little James Bond, who can assist them to resolve challenging situations in their lives.
As I was researching on this topic, I was blessed with the greatest fortune of meeting with Sukruti's doctor, who provided some insightful tips on what a pregnant woman should do/learn so they can pass on their expertise to their little baby, thereby helping him/her become a Chota Bond very early in their lives. Before you ask, "Who, Sukruti?", let me tell you that she is Milind's sister from the popular prime-time Star Plus soap, Kayamath.
Since the doctor wanted to keep her name out of the article, let me just call her, "Mrs Beatific Smile (Mrs BS)", and list her extremely useful and practical ideas to instill a variety of significant skills into your child (remember that practice makes a man, oops, 'woman' perfect, and hence follow these steps throughout the duration of your pregnancy):
a. Smash a glass with your hand once a week: This will help your baby become physically and mentally strong, removing any fear of sharp objects or blood when he is out on the field!
b. Squeeze your big frame under the bottom of a bed every day: How thoughtful! Needless to say, a detective might have to go undercover at times, and this exercise will help your child become excellent at hiding!
c. Spend more time with people you dislike: It's obvious that not everyone in your child's team will be his or her friend! But, nonetheless, it's necessary to connect with them to build team spirit. Start going out with your 'least desired' people for lunches or a couple of drinks…this will teach your baby the value of doing anything and everything to succeed as a detective.
d. Don't let anyone know who the father of the baby is: Of course, it's imperative to let your baby know that keeping secrets is an important part of detection. A good detective never lets all his puppies out of the bag, which always gives him or her a distinct advantage!
e. Rummage through trash cans or closets daily to look at what your family members have discarded: One never knows where clues could be stashed in! With this exercise, you will drive into your baby that it's never right to ignore any place while hunting for evidence.
f. Get intoxicated every once in a while: A sharp mind under ANY condition is the mark of a great detective. Asking someone to pour pills or pouring them yourself into your drink twice or thrice a month will get you used to these drugs and hone your mental abilities, helping you stay alert all the time
My eyes were moist as I heard Mrs BS roll out these BS (Beautiful and Smart) tips, for I recalled her prized patient, Sukruti, following each and every point to the T! In fact, her diligence has already proven successful, because her first child, Ritwik, was single-handedly instrumental in reuniting MICHI by finding a tape-recorder within the mess created in the bedroom! WAAH WAAH!
I commended Mrs BS for her ingenuity, charisma and appeal, and dutifully thanked her for all the help (even promising to send a copy of my article!)
So, there ladies. I hope this column will guide you to raise some intelligent, resourceful, brave little Bonds. Please don't forget to let us know if you have other brilliant ideas!
I can already see the day when the famous dialogue, "Mere Paas Ma Hai", from Deewar, will become pass, for, soon, every mom will proudly claim the following, "Tere Paas Kya Hai…Doctor? Engineer? Writer? Scientist? Poohhh…Mere Paas "Bond" Hai"
