PART-5

"Bol na Prachi..bol..tujhe hamaari pyar ki kasam..bol.."Prachi woke up with a start.wiping the sweat beads on her forehead she stared around her.Pl was sleeping peacefully on the chair near her bed.Prachi was shifted into the ward from ICU a week back.The same dream haunted her every night.

"Who was that person who was pleading me..there was so much pain and love in his voice.that was not Neev..not paapa.."Prachi thought.

Paapa..she thought sadly...she had cried so much over the week for her father that her tears had now dried up and she started facing the reality of the situation.the thought of her father made her feel exposed to the outside world as there was no longer that protection that her father provided.she felt frightened to face the world.but she knew she had to.

Prachi looked at Pl and promised to herself.."Maa main aapke..aalaap aur sowmya ke acchi tarah se khayaal rakhoongi..chaahe iskeliye mujhe duniya bhar ke mushkile bhi utaane pade thab bhi main sab kuch sahloongi..yeh mera aap se vaada hain paapa" her thoughts took over her dream again.

"Maa..ab hum kahaan jaayenge?"Prachi mouthed the question that was troubling her from many days."Aunty ne kahaa thaa na ki ab humaara ghar bhi hamaara nahi rahaa"she said sadly.

Pl who was gatherin all their things as it was the day of Prachi's discharge stopped and looked at her.

"Uska upaai hain mere paas..tum mere ghar chalo.."said Neev enetring the ward.

"Nahin..Neev hum aisa nahin kar sakthe..."Prachi said

"Par kyon nahin?..kya mera ghar tumhaara ghar nahi hain? meine toh bachpan se hi tumhaare ghar ko apna maana..lekin tum tho.."

"Please Neev..nahi"Prachi said adamantly"hum kisi pe bhoj banke nahi rehna chaahthe"

"Bhoj? aap log mujpe bhoj hain?"Neev said the hurt evident from his voice

"Shaayad mere paas sahi upai hain.."Mishraji entered smiling.

Prachi admired Mishraji very much.he had helped her in coping up with her father's death.she wanted to hate Milind for taking her father's evrything that he had built upon in years.With Mishraji's affection and Sukruthi's friendship she believed that Milind comming from such a family could not be wrong.May be this was what fate had in store for her she consoled herself.

"Mujhe ek jagah maaloom hain..wahaa ek makaan kiraaye par le sakthe hain.."

"Thanx baba"Prachi smiled.she unknowingly scanned the ward for MIB.he came there everyday then what happened today?maybe he doesnt care she thought angrily.why am I thinking about him..

"Prachi..yehi woh jagah hain.." Mishraji pointed towards the chawl as they got down from Neev's car.

There was something that looked so familiar with that chawl.it seemed as if she knew it very well.she felt connected to it but she cudnt rememeber when where how and why.

The landlord handed over the keys smiling to mishraji.Neev has settled the money with him which Prachi made a mental note of returning to Neev.

"Thanx Baaba...ab mujhe ek acchi se naukri doondhni padegi.."

"Di..aap abhi abhi toh teek hui hain..aur aap" Sowmya insisted.

"Main ab teek hu..lekin ab bahuth saari cheeze hain jo teek nahi hain..jaise ki hamaari haalath..sowmya hume paise ki zaroorath hain..aur is keliye mujhe naukri karni padegi..main kal se hi doondni shuru kardhoongi"

"Prachi beta..ab main chalthaa hoon"Mishraji took leave of the family and stepped into the car waiting for him outside the chawl and called up Milind.

"Milind beta..sab kuch teek hain..main Parachi ko humare chawl mein le aaya..lekin ek problem hain..Prahi job karna chaahthi hain..aur agar woh job ke liye gayi..toh use koi pehchaan gaya ki woh Prachi Milind Mishra hain toh kya hoga?"

Prachi got up early in the morning.She completed all her regular chores and prayed to god clutching all her certificates.She was really thankful to the chawl ppl who made her life there considerably easy.there were good and helped her out when ever she was in need of it without her asking for it.Little did she know that they were all friends of Milind and were more than obliged to help her out as Milind has asked for it.She regarded all of them as her brothers and even hanged out with them.how can she forget the panipuri she had with them yesterday?But Neev?what has got into him?he appeared to be close to her for a moment and then forcibly seperated himself from her the very next moment..he was rude at times when prachi asked if there was something that was bothering him.Neev on the otherhand was battling with his own feelings fuelled up by ayesha and his responsiblity towards Prachi and Milind's relationship.

"Maa..Main chalthi hoon..mujhe dher ho rahi hai.."

"Prachi naashthaa tho karthe jaa betaa.."

"Nahi maa dher ho rahi hain..."

She got into a crowded bus.looking at her watch she grew all the more tense.this was her ninth interview.Everybody seemed to reject her for no reason.they did not even look at my certificates.. my name was enough she thought sadly.the month was ending and the need for money grew.She entered Khanna enterprises prior to the intended time and sat there for her call.

"Miss Shah..u can go inside " the receptionist said with the sweetest voice possible.

Prachi entered the room to find an elderly looking guy behind the desk.she took a seat and waited for him to start the conversation.

"aap ka naam..??"

Oh no..not again..Prachi thought and instead handed over her certificates.

"Miss Shah..app ke laayak is company mein koi post nahin hain..sirf mera PA ka post vacant hain..kya woh aap karpaayenge"

"Sure sir..mujhe koi problem nahin hain"Prachi beamed in answer.

"Ok..aap baahar intezaar keejiye aapkaa offer letter pahunch jaayega aur latha aapko apni seat dhikaadhengi"

"Thankyou sir" Prachi jumped with joy once out of the room.she had to tell this to her mother but she had to see the appointment letter to make it sure first.

"Congratulations Miss Shah"said latha giving her the appointment letter as she showed the seat to Prachi

"Prachi....you can call me Prachi"

"ok Prachi...u can talk to me if u have any difficulties over here be it work or the people ..see you in the luch hour then"

Prachi called her mother immediately and informed her about the good news.she had not finished talking yet as she got a call from her boss.

"May i come in sir?"Prachi asked

"Yes Prachi..i wanted to share some important information with you..i am no more your boss..your boss is now the person who bought this company..the takeover happened just now" khanna was saying

It had not been 5 mnutes since i joined and my boss is changed alreday? Prachi couldnot comprehend what was goig on.

"Your new boos will be here any minute..ahh here he comes.."

A person clad in black suit enetred the room as if a prowling tiger entering its den.Though his back was facing Prachi she could sense some familiarity in that prowl.

"Welcome sir..welcome..apki hi intezaar ho rahi thi.."they shaked hands and khanna turned around to introduce him to prachi.

"MIB??" Prachi gasped aloud at the sight of him.

PART-6

"Mera mathlab..Milind...Milind aap?"said prachi hurriedly hoping he wud not have heard whatever she said just now.

He said nothing in response..just stared at her.khanna sent her out to get the necessary papers drawn up.

How could she work for him?No..thats not possible..she would resign immediately..she reached for her table when some papers which read legal contract fluttered dangerously on her desk.she signed them few minutes ago.she was damn sure she saw a copy of those on Khanna sir's desk.Would Milind let her go? No..knowing the ruthless person he is..he may even drag her to the court..prachi was still battling with her own ego when reality started to sink in..

She needed the job very badly.Should she talk to milind about resigning?No..after all Milind is the person who is responsible for her present situation.How cud she go infront of him as a weakling? This wud be an insult to her father's memory.I will show him what i am made of prachi thought adamantly and then remembered her father ..this was business..if u are not careful enough there is always someone ready to have u for their dinner..and this shark engulfed total shah empire..she thought sadly.

Prachi immediately called up Neev and informed him about this.Afterall it was her habbit from childhood to share everything with neev.

"What?" shouted Neev and cut the phone immediately.Everything was crystal clear now.He tried persuading others to give prachi a job knowing that she wud brush it off if he offered one in his company but they feared something.Now prachi gets a job and Milind takesover the company! so..Milind has started his game already.

"This Neev acts so ridiculously these days" said prachi to herself as she got the finance,HR and legal departments together.

The entire meeting she tried hard not to meet Milind's gaze.He was behaving so differently today.He came across as a caring person while she was in the hospital..but now he was behaving as if he had never seen her before.why this change of attitude?

"ohh..he is now my boss and is throwing his weight around..let him do what he wants to..why shud i care..if he ignores me ill ignore him too..but why is he ignoring me like that?" prachi thought.

It was announced that none of the workers wud be laid off and prachi immediately thanked god in her mind and looked beamingly at Milind.

"Miss Shah..please come to my office with the required documents from the legal department"he said without even looking at her.

prachi's face fell "ok sir" she left.

Prachi entered the office few hours later.It was still the same room yet she felt the difference..May be it was because of the aura the person behind the desk was emanating.

"Sir...the documents that u asked for"

"Thank you Miss shah"he said without even looking at her.

"Prachi...you can call me Prachi"said prachi.

Milind lifted his head to look at her.

I shud thank him for the concern he had shown in the hospital prachi thought..only if he enquires about my health..she added...her ego getting the better of her.

"ok Prachi..plz ask latha to come into my cabin"

Still no change in expressions! huh...like i care...Prachi left the room.

Milind smiled to himself remembering the confused face of Prachi.He slowly got up from his desk and came to the point where prachi had stood just now.Her perfume still lingered in the air and he stood there savouring it..how he wanted to take her into his arms when she entered the room smiling.He had a tough time trying to keep a straight face in front of her.

"Yeh ek khel hain prachi..ek aisa khel joh ab se hum dono khelenge..apne dil ko dhaav par lagaakar..is mein pehle koi bhi haare..jeet toh hum dono ki hi hogi!"

Prachi closed the door and turned around

"Neev! what are you doing here?"

"Prachi..i wanted to talk to u..regarding this takeover..Milind and i are business partners"

"what?? you mean..now this company belongs to you too?"

"And you will be working for me too..is that ok with you prachi? Main yahaa zyaada din tak nahi rahoonga..bas e deal stabilize hojaaye toh main chalejaaonga aur.."

"Its ok Neev..u have no idea how much happy i am feeling right now..I was going to call you up now"Prachi beamed holding his hand in hers.Ohh..how comforting the touch felt thought Neev smiling back.

"oh Neev..with you around it will be more fun at work..see u later then" Prachi left smiling broadly than ever.

Her smile always had a contageous effect on Neev.Smiling he entred Milind's cabin.

Milind was talking to Ayesha about the deal he had just made.He needed some formalities to be completed by her.

"Milind yeh sab chodo..tune subah kuch khaaya bhi nahin..jaldi kaam khatham karlo..hum lunch pe baahar chalenge"said Ayesha with her enthusiasm evident in her voice.

"No Ayesha..mujhe bahut kaam hain..main nahi aapaaongaa" Milind cut the line.

"Milind tum mujhe avoid kar rahe ho na...aur woh bhi us prachi ki bacchi keliye..iskeliye tumne madad liya bhi toh kiska?Neev ka? woh toh neendh mein bhi prachi prachi kartha hain..aur maine uske purani yaadon ko phir se taaja kar di hain..ab toh tum mere hi ho"she laughed wickedly at her own smartness.

"Neev.."Milind turned around to see him and gave a hug to him smiling.

"Accha hua tum aagaye..tumhe patha hain prachi.."

"Patha hain..main ussi se milke aa rahaa hoon..ive told her that im going to stay for a few more days..she was very happy"

"Thanx Neev..ab toh tum mere side mein ho na..toh main aur prachi bahut jald ek hojaayenge"

"Patha nahi Milind..patah nahin joh mein karne wala hoon woh sahi hain yaa galath...bus itna chaahthaa hoon ki Prachi ko uska pyar mile..agar prachi tumhe chunthi hain toh main khushi khushi raaste se hat jaaonga..lekin agar prachi ki dil mein tumse pehle maine jagah paaliya toh tum kya uparwala bhi hum dono ko alag nahi karpaayega"

"Neev kya soch rahe ho?"

"Im sorry Milind"

"what? what for?"

"Nothing..i was lost some where"

"Tum mujhe apne pyar ko paane mein madad karoge na Neev?"

"Milind..main Prachi ko uske pyar tak zaroor pahuchaaonga..i promise you that!"
