Recap: Ayesha tells Prachi that she is pregnant with Milind's child. Prachi resolves not to believe her half-sister. She goes to meet Milind to talk to him about the situation.

Part 26:

Prachi quickly paid the auto-rickshaw driver and headed inside the office building. Taking quick strides, Prachi moved into the elevator and arrived on the top floor. Wasting no time, she walked over to Milind' secretary.

"Hello Mrs. Mishra. How are you today?" asked Sumaira, the middle-aged secretary who was responsible for the majority of Milind's paperwork and organization.

"Hello Sumaira. Can you please tell me where I would find Milind?" asked Prachi, trying to sound as if she was not stressed out.

Despite Prachi's attempt at sounding cool, Sumaira could definitely sense that her boss' wife seemed apprehensive. Nonetheless, Sumaira replied to Prachi's question, pretending she hadn't noticed Mrs. Mishra's disposition. "He is currently in a meeting on the fifteenth floor. He should be done in about an hour or two."

"Thanks, Sumaira. I'll go wait on the fifteenth floor. It was nice seeing you."

"You too Mrs. Mishra! I hope you have a nice day," replied Sumaira cheerfully.

After exchanging goodbyes with Milind's secretary, Prachi promptly left for the fifteenth floor.

Milind had just stepped outside of the boardroom for a small break from the intense business dealings which had been ongoing for the past four hours. This was a crucial deal and Milind really wanted it. If he completed the transaction with Armaan Group of Industries, he would then have control of over 40% of the hotel industry, making his empire the most powerful in the Indian hotel business. He couldn't wait for this deal to be complete. He knew that he wanted to start a family with Prachi, and this deal would just be the beginning of creating a perfect world for his children to grow up in, where they could have every desire they ever wished for.

Milind walked alone towards the elevators, and suddenly a smile came to his face, as he saw his wife coming out of the elevator. Prachi looked radiant in her lilac sari, with green embroidery. She was dressed simple, yet still looked amazingly sexy.

"Prachi! What are you doing here? I thought you were coming at 6?" asked Milind, as he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

Prachi looked around, and was happy to note that no one else was around. She gently tugged at Milind's arms, to get out of his grasp.

Milind noticed her actions, and slowly moved his arms away from her. He looked at her face and could sense some tension. "Prachi, kya huwa?" he asked, visibly concerned.

Prachi finally made eye-contact, and Milind felt his heart pain a little as he saw that she was holding back tears. "Prachi," exclaimed Milind, "what the hell happened?"

Prachi quickly grabbed his hand, "Milind, I need to talk to you. Is there a private room nearby?"

Confused, Milind put his other hand through his hair. "Umm..yea, I have a private office on this floor. Let's go."

Milind plopped himself on the leather couch in the office, but Prachi stood standing. She was surprised to see how lavish the office was, especially considering that Milind spent the majority of his time in his main office on the top floor.

"It's pretty nice eh?" asked Milind, as if he could read her mind.

"Yes. It's lovely," answered Prachi softly.

"So, Prachi, can you please tell me what's going on? I am involved in a really intense meeting in the boardroom, and I really need to get back to it in about 2 minutes. But I won't be able concentrate if I know you're upset, so please tell me what the problem is."

"Milind," asked Prachi in a no-nonsense manner, "Please tell me the truth."

Milind got up from the leather couch, and walked towards his wife. She could sense his frustration mounting. "When have I ever lied to you? What is it?"

Prachi took a deep breath. She stared directly into Milind's eyes and asked her question, "Milind, have you ever slept with Ayesha?"

Milind's face instantly went pale, as he retreated back to the couch. He sat down and buried his face in his hands. He took a deep breath, and looked up at Prachi, "Why are you asking me this?"

Prachi felt like she could feel her heart breaking. "Just answer the question Milind," she stated, with fierce anger in her voice.

Milind closed his eyes and remembered that horrible morning when he had woken up in Ayesha's bed after Prachi's college reunion party. He didn't know what happened that night, but he had surely remembered the morning when he found himself lying next to Ayesha in the guestroom of the mansion. He had tried to erase the horrible day from his memory. But now that Prachi was asking him about it, how could he lie?

"Prachi," softly answered Milind as he stared at her, still standing near him, "I don't know."

"I don't know? Is that all you can say Milind?" asked Prachi, still with no emotion in her voice.

Milind instantly stood up and grabbed Prachi, and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head. She stood their like a statue.

"Listen Prachi. I love you more than anything else in the world. There is nothing going on between Ayesha and I. You know that I love…" Milind was interrupted from finishing his sentence by the ringing of his cell phone.

He hesitantly answered the call, and responded simply by saying, "I'm coming."

He ended the call and took Prachi's hand in his own. She still had no expression on her face.

"Dekho Prachi, I really need to get back to this meeting since it's crucial that I get there right now. Listen, we will talk about this when I get home. I'm going to finish this meeting as soon as possible and I'll arrive home immediately after it's done. I promise. I should be home by 4. Is that okay?"

Prachi looked up at Milind and softly replied, "Okay."

As soon as she finished her sentence, Milind bolted from the office back into the boardroom. He was extremely stressed out about the whole situation that had just occurred, but he knew that Prachi loved him and she was extremely reasonable. He knew that she would not jump to any conclusions without hearing the entire story. He was happy to see that she did not overreact when he had told her the truth. He promised himself that as soon as this meeting ended he would go home and resolve this whole state of affairs, and from that point onwards, there would be not even one secret between him and his wife.

Prachi took the elevator back down to the lobby, with only one thing resonating through her mind. "How can Milind say he doesn't know?" she asked herself, feeling like a complete fool.

fab part CB...atleast milsi didnt lie to prachi and thats a good thing...i really hope prachi gets to the bottom of this and i hope this doesnt spell doom to Michi marriage. cant wait for the next part 😊
